Happy Sunday. Today, this is Make Today a Great, studying the Word. And today I want to talk about casting your cares on the Lord. You know, our first scripture, our foundation scripture today is 1 Peter 5 and 7, which says, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. And our care is everything. We have so many things that that can stress us out. We have so many things that can cause us to feel anxiety, that can cause us to feel unsettled. We have crises that come up in our life just unexpectedly, and all of a sudden, you know, something may happen, and we are concerned. We are we are worried about what is going to happen and what's going on and why is it happening? And but the scripture is telling us here to cast it on the Lord because He cares for us. And so you may say, that's not always easy. And it is not always easy, but we have to learn how to cast our care on the Lord because He does not intend for us to go through life carrying all of these burdens, carrying all of this pain, being filled with anxiety. That is not God's will concerning his people. He said that he gave us peace. He said, My peace, his peace, he leaves with us. So when he left, he left us peace. He left us joy. So we do not have to go through day after day with depression and oppression and and struggling and can't seem like we can't come from under all of this trauma and all of this stress and all of this hurt and all of this pain. He said to cast it on him. Cast in this case means to roll it over on him. And so again, how do we do that? All right, first let's go to Proverbs. And this is a very familiar passage. Proverbs chapter three. Verses starting at verse five. Actually, we're gonna start at verse four. Proverbs chapter three. We're gonna start at verse actually let's just start at verse one. My son, do not forget my law, but let your heart keep my commands for length of days and long life, and peace they will add to you. Let not mercy and truth forsake you, bind them around your neck, write them on the tablets of your heart, and so find favor and high esteem in the sight of God and man. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, do not lean to your own understanding, and all in all your ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct your path. Do not be wise in your own eyes, fear the Lord and depart for evil. It will be health to your flesh and strength to your bones. And I could go on reading that whole chapter really, but one thing that will help in casting our cares on the Lord is to trust him. We have to trust the Lord, it says, Trust the Lord with all of our heart. Do not lean to our own understanding in all of our ways, acknowledge him, and he shall direct our path. A lot of times we have so many cares and so many worries because we have created problems for ourselves. We've made bad decisions, we've gotten into bad situations, we've taken the wrong job, bought the wrong car, got with the wrong person, and we have created a lot of circumstances in our lives that create worry, that create stress, that have all these this scare of life just pressing down on us. And so a lot of times it's because we've made bad choices, but yet and still, God is merciful and he is good, he will still help us and deliver us out of these situations. It's not gonna happen overnight because when we make mistakes, there are consequences. We reap what we sow, but yet and still, because of the grace and the mercy of God and because of his favor, he's still telling us, even when you've made a bad decision, even when you've made bad choices, trust me. Trust me and lean not see, we have to make different choices. We have to decide, okay, I've I've made these choices, I have these consequences, but for the grace and mercy of God, it could be a lot worse. So now I'm going to make different decisions. Our main decision should be to trust in the Lord and to wait for him to give us an instruction. And he said, He will direct our path. That's how we can cast our care on him, letting God direct our paths instead of us directing our paths. Instead of us going our own way and doing what we want to do, we have to lean and depend on God and his direction. That's why he gives us the Holy Spirit. He said, the Holy Spirit, he will lead you into all truth, he will guide you, he will direct you. But if we do not lean on the Holy Spirit, but lean to our own understanding, try to work things out our own way, try to figure things out our own way, then we're gonna be filled with anxiety, we're gonna be filled with stress, and it becomes difficult to cast our care on the Lord. So we have to trust him, we have to learn to depend on him. He said, Don't forget my law, but keep your heart with my command, let your heart keep my commands for length of days and long life, and peace they will add to you. We can have peace if we trust God, if we keep his commands, if we follow his directions, if we do see, then we won't have so many situations where we are all worried and stressed out, where we have all of this anxiety if we are leaning and depending on God. He said, lean not to your own understanding in all your ways, all your ways, acknowledge him. So are we really acknowledging God in all of our ways? Sometimes we are not. We see something we want, we get it. We see something we desire, we give into the the desires of the flesh, and we try to obtain everything we want to satisfy the flesh, and we didn't acknowledge God. God, is this the house you want me to buy? Is this the car you want me to buy? Is this the man or woman you want me to be in a relationship with? Is this the job you want me to have? So a lot of times we get ourselves into these situations, and then we have all of this worry, all of this stress, and yeah, any job's gonna have stress, any marriage is gonna have ups and downs at times, but it shouldn't be continuous, continuous, it shouldn't be all the time that it's a problem, all the time that there's a bad situation. Yes, we're gonna have financial struggles, but it shouldn't be every day, all day, every day of our lives. If we are keeping his commands, if we are doing things God's way, we shouldn't have all of this trouble and all of this struggle and all of this anxiety. And so that's the first thing. Trust the Lord, that that should be our first go-to in every situation. He said, In all of your ways, acknowledge me, and I will direct your path. So if we are doing that, we will avoid so many pitfalls. He said, He would make the crooked path straight, he would bring the high places down, he will he will let us see ahead, potholes, and in other words, he will let us see obstacles, he will direct us around them, he will show us how to go through them or over them, if we are trusting him. Yes, trouble's gonna come to everybody, whether you even if you're doing everything right, trouble still gonna come. But if you are on that solid foundation, if you have built your house on the rock, if you have built your house on Jesus, if you have built your house on the word of God, you will stand in the midst of a storm. That's when it becomes easy to say, Lord, I'm giving this to you. I can't do anything about it, even when it we've caused it ourselves, we still have to turn it over to God and repent and say, Lord, I'm sorry that I did not consult you. I'm sorry that I went my own way and did my own thing. But Lord, I'm coming to you and ask you to forgive me, Lord. Show me, direct me, and I will follow. We have to then follow his direction, we have to then follow his path and not keep going our own way and doing our own thing. And he said to trust him, lean on him. He said, Don't be wise in your own eyes, don't be wise in your own eyes. So we think we know what's best for us, and this is when it becomes difficult to cast it on the Lord because we think we know. So when you are always saying, No, Lord, I know, Lord, I know, Lord, I know, then you make and still your own decisions when you're saying, I know what's best for me, I know what's gonna work for me, instead of saying, Lord, is this what's best for me? Lord, is this what's going to work for me? Lord, I need your help, I need your direction, I need your guidance. He said, in all of our ways, and he would direct our paths, not to be wise in our own eyes, fear the Lord and depart from evil. It will be health to your flesh and strength to your bones. If you need, we all need health, and we all need strength. But how do we obtain that? By following the Lord's direction, by not being wise in our own eyes. And he said, He would give us strength, he would give us everything that we need if we trust him, if we cast our care on him, if we become dependent upon him. A lot of times we're dependent on the wrong things. We think we're dependent on our intellect. That's nothing. So if we are dependent on ourselves, dependent on our own thoughts and dependent on our own ways, then we're going to be stressed. We are not going to know what to do, how to do it, how to get things done. But if we cast it on the Lord, he'll show us every step we need to take. He'll tell us everywhere we need to go, he'll open doors that need to be open and close doors that need to be closed if we are trusting him. But if we're doing things our own way, if we are not dependent on him, and we are not listening to his instruction, then we can't cast our cares on him. It says he cares for us. That means every anxiety, distractions, burdens, worries, and because we worry about the we worry about everything. We worry, can I pay my bills? Um, how are my children gonna turn out? Is my marriage gonna work out? What's going on with this job? We worry about all these things, but the Lord is saying, cast that on me, roll that over on me. I got you, I'm gonna take care of you, I'm going to provide for you, I'm going to make way a way for you. But if we are so caught up in our own minds, trying to figure things out ourselves, then we are going to have a problem casting our cares on him. Because we do have an adversary. We see that in verse 8 and verse Peter 5. So that's why we have to be trusting the Lord because the devil he's walking around seeking whom he may devour. He ain't running around trying to stop them people that's not serving Jesus, he's trying to stop the people that's serving Jesus. He wants to make our life rough, he wants to destroy us, he wants to kill, steal, and destroy from us. But again, we don't have to allow that. We can resist him, being steadfast in faith, knowing that we have the power of the Holy Spirit. See, it's not our power, it's the power of the Holy Spirit that resides on the inside of us that we don't have to give over to the cares of this life, we don't have to give over to the enemy running roughshod over us. We don't have to allow him to come in and just do what he wants to. We have, but we have to be submitted to God. Submitted means we have come under his authority, he is our king, we are kingdom citizens, so we have to come under the governance and the authority of the king. If we are in his kingdom, he has translated, God has translated us, moved us out of the kingdom of darkness. When we get saved, when we have given our life over to Jesus, we have accepted him as our savior, we have been baptized in his name, we have the infilling of the Holy Ghost because we have only come into the kingdom by the water and the spirit. So when we have been birthed into the kingdom, he is our king. It is not an earthly kingdom at this time, it is a king in the kingdom of faith, it is the kingdom of God, and he is our king. So once we have come into the kingdom, we got to submit to his authority. We can't keep doing things our way if we are saying, I'm in the kingdom, I've been birthed into the kingdom of God, I've been birthed into the kingdom of Jesus, and he is my king. I submit to his authority, I submit to his rulership, and I submit to his constitution, the rules that govern his kingdom. I'm submitting my life and my my will to his will. And then again, that's where it becomes easy to cast our cares on him because I know that my king is going to take care of me. I know that he is going to provide for me. So I'm submitted to him. And when the enemy comes in, I can use the name of the king because I have that authority as a kingdom citizen to use the name of Jesus. The name of Jesus is all powerful, the name of Jesus is mighty. The name of Jesus pulls down strongholds, the name of Jesus calls the enemy to flee. So we don't have so that's why we don't have to worry. That's why we don't have to be consumed with all of this worry and with all of this anxiety because we're trusting in our King. We're trusting in our Savior. We're trusting in our Lord to do what he has promised us in the Constitution that he's gonna do. See, it's an agreement. The Constitution tells us our rights as being citizens of the kingdom of God. And he said, I am going to take care of you. He said, I supply all of your needs. He said, I'll heal the brokenhearted. I come to set at liberty then, not our bruised, giving us sight to the bond. He said, These this is why the spirit of the Lord came upon Jesus so that he could do these things. And he is still our king, he is still our savior, and he's still providing for his citizens. So we have to trust him, we have to depend on him, and we have to submit to his authority when we are submitted to God and we come into his authority. We don't have to worry about all this other stuff. We don't have to worry because he said, I take care of the lilies of the field. Let's go to Matthew twenty twenty, Matthew five. Matthew chapter five. Matthew chapter six Matthew chapter six. Verse twenty five. Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air. They neither sow nor reap, nor gather into barns, yet your heavenly father feeds them. Are you not of much of more value than they? Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow. They neither toll nor spin, and yet I say to you that even Solomon and all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Now if God so clothed the glass grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, oh you of little faith? Therefore do not worry. So he said, in other words, cast your cares on me. You don't have to worry about this stuff. You don't have to worry about clothes, you don't have to worry about shelter. I'm gonna take care of you, I'm gonna provide this for you if you trust me. So don't worry about these things. And I see all these birds out here in my yard, and they're not worried about nothing. They're not worried about anything. They have to chirp and eat, doing whatever birds do. They are not worried about anything because they know that their heavenly father is taking care of them. So we got to be like the birds, we gotta be like the flowers. They're not worried about anything. They're out there in their beauty, they're out there praising God, they're out there doing what they were created to do. So that's what we need to do. We need to focus on doing what we are created to do. We are created for purpose. God says Jeremiah 29 and 11. I know the plans that I have for you. God has plans for us, He has things He wants us to accomplish. He has gifted us, He has given us talent, He has given us intellect, He has given us things, gifts that He wants us to use, and we have to know our purpose, we have to know what God intends for us to do, and we don't have to shouldn't have to be all worried and all concerned and all filled with anxiety while doing it because He said not to. He said, roll it over on me, cast it over on me. Don't worry about all these things. I have you in this kingdom of mine, the kingdom of Jesus, for purpose and for destiny. I have goals that I want you to fulfill. I have things that I want you to accomplish. I have a way that I want you to live. All I'm asking you to do is trust me, you keep my commands, do what I ask you to do, and it's all taken care of. But again, that's where we get in trouble because we a lot of times are doing our own thing, following our own mind, being wise in our own eyes, and doing everything contrary to the word of God. But the Lord is telling us today, trust me, depend on me, don't lean to your own understanding, don't trust your own mind, trust me, because our mind, a lot of times we are contaminated by the thinking of the world because we're in it every day, we're in the world, and we have allowed the thoughts and the mindset of the world to control our mindset, but that's why we have to keep our mind renewed with the word of God. That's why we have to daily renew our mind with God's word. So when thoughts of evil, these wicked thoughts of the world come to trying to take over, we say, I'm taking that thought captive to the obedience of Christ, casting that thought down, and I'm gonna follow the word of God. I'm not gonna be controlled and contaminated and polluted. We have to unpollute our minds, we have to uncontamine decontaminate our mind and our thinking and our mindsets from the ways and the systems of the world and be controlled by the word of God. And the word of God really is not to control us, but it's to guide us because God wants us to freely come to him, he wants us to freely do his will. He doesn't want us to be puppets or robots, he wants us to freely love him, freely do what he asks us to do, and he that's he just wants us to love him with everything, with all of our heart, soul, mind, body, and strength. That's what he it wants from us. He wants a family, he wants us to love him because he's God and he is God all by himself. He just wants us to love him, and when you love someone, you want to please them, you want them to be happy with you, you want them to be foot filled with joy when they are in your presence. You want them to not dread being around you. That's how we should be in our relationship with God. He should find it pleasant and pleasurable to be around us and to be near us because he knows that's my that's my child, that's a kingdom citizen. So, and they're doing what I need them to do, they're fulfilling their purpose, and he loves us so much, he is so faithful, he is so forgiving, he is so good to. Us better than we have even been to ourselves. So it shouldn't be hard for us to say, I know God's got me. So I'm casting this on him. Lord, I'm casting all this anxiety, all of this stress, all of this trauma, all of this hurt, all of this rejection, all of this pain. I'm casting it on you. And don't go back and get it. You know that old song, take your burdens to the Lord and leave them there. Cast them on him and leave them there. And don't start picking stuff back up. Well, you know, no. Leave it on the Lord. He's got it. He can handle it. We can't handle it, we can't handle all this stress and anxiety and trouble. We need to depend on God. He is in control. So I hope you receive something from I know you receive something from the Word of God if you if you desire to receive it. Because the Word is truth, the Word is light, and the Word will bless us and keep us if we allow it. I pray that you have a great day. I pray that the Word of God fell on good ground today and that you make a decision to make today great. God bless you. I love you. Have a great day in the Lord.
