Only Believe

Good morning. I'm Marilyn Poston and welcome to Make Today Great. I just wanted to pop on and share a quick word this morning. As I was doing my devotion, I was listening to Mark chapter 5. And we have the account here of Jairis. He had a daughter who was sick and who was about to die, and he was desperate to get her some help. And when he had heard about Jesus, he came to Jesus and asked him to come heal his daughter. Jesus agreed to come. But on their way to his house, he got stopped by the woman with the issue of blood. This woman had been bleeding for for twelve long years, and she also was desperate for help. And she too had heard about Jesus, and she touched his garment that she would be made whole. And Jesus said unto her, Daughter, your faith has made you well. Well, in the meantime, Jack Jairus' daughter has died. And they come and say, Don't bother Jesus any further, and because your daughter is dead. But Jesus said, Don't be afraid, only believe. So that's what I feel like the Lord is telling us today. Don't be afraid, only believe. When God has promised us something in His Word, we cannot allow fear to overtake us. We cannot allow fear to come in and rob us of the promises of God. God said He has not given us a spirit of fear, but of love, power, and of a sound mind. Our sound mind needs to tell us I'm gonna believe the word of God. I'm gonna trust what God has told me in his word. He's not a man that he should lie, nor the son of man that he should repent, and he will keep his promises. So J. Iris believed what Jesus said, and Jesus went in and raised that daughter from the dead. See, our promises that God has given us are for us, but we have to receive them by faith. We have to believe what God has told us in His Word. We cannot get weary, we cannot get tired, we cannot give up, we have to hold fast to our confession of faith without wavering for what God has promised, He will perform. So I just want to tell you real quick this morning. Don't be afraid, only believe. Keep your mind renewed with the Word of God, let the Word of God be planted in your spirit so that it will grow and take root. Don't let fear, don't let sadness, don't let anything, doubt, unbelief, don't let those things come in and rob you of the promises of God. God wants us healed, He wants us well, He wants us to be have our needs provided for. We got to do what He tells us in His Word to do, and we have to believe. It's a decision, it's a choice. Just like every day, it's a choice to make each day great. Things are gonna happen in our lives, but we can make a decision. I'm gonna trust God, I'm gonna stand on his word, I believe what he has told me, and it's up to us because every day is a day that the Lord has made. We can choose to rejoice and be glad in it.
