Speaker 1:

Well, hello teachers, and welcome to your Monday Mindset podcast episode. These are short, little snippets of thoughts, reflections that I share with you on a weekly basis, that are focused around mindset things that we can do to live our best lives, to live an intentional life, and I invite you to not just listen to these for yourself and how they apply to you in your life, but consider sharing them with other people too. Consider sharing them with your students every Monday and having a conversation about it and doing a reflection together, because I think a lot of these thoughts, these topics, these questions are just a part of being human, and sometimes being human can feel lonely and to know that other people are struggling through some of the same challenges that you are and are benefiting from having these types of conversations is hugely powerful in allowing us to get to be the best version of ourselves, to take who we are and who we be and who we show up in the world as to that next level. So I really hope that you enjoy these Monday Mindsets and, if you do, let us know over on our Instagram at Evie Academics. Thanks so much for listening and let's dive into our Monday Mindset. So today's Monday Mindset is a little bit different, interesting. I'm going to share a personal story with you, and I think that this concept gets to apply to everybody because I've been seeing it show up everywhere for me in my life outside of this conversation.

Speaker 1:

So about a month ago, I had an interview for a mastermind that I wanted to be a part of, and one of the questions that was asked was you know, why do you want to be in this mastermind? And I said you know, I just, I really want someone to just push me to my next level of self. I want to be challenged, blah, blah, blah, whatever, like very much like this pushing, intense energy. And the interviewer asked me. He said, or said to me you know, it's really interesting, I keep hearing you say a lot of this like pushing and going after things and, you know, making things happen for yourself, right, which is great. We all need that.

Speaker 1:

And there's a part of ourselves that also gets to lean into receiving, and this is actually my word for the year is to receive and receiving the good things that come for us, right, receiving, if we're working out at the gym, as an example, the pain, right, that the pain is giving to our bodies, to transform us, to change us, and so it's this whole concept of, like the yin and yang right, the masculine and the feminine, of needing to have and getting to have that balance in life. And so I'm not exactly sure where this will apply to you in your life, maybe as a teacher, maybe as a wife, maybe as a husband, maybe as a parent, whatever it might be, maybe as a friend, maybe just in your own personal goals. But I very much personally have always leaned into this high intensity, probably more masculine energy, of just going after what I want and pushing and challenging and not really sitting in that feminine receiving energy. And again, I tell you, it's a little bit different, it's a little more out there than some of my other Monday mindsets, but I keep seeing it show up everywhere and everything of just receiving and being open to receiving just the abundance in life and what life has to give us and what life has to offer us.

Speaker 1:

And I invite you to think about where in your life does this apply to you. Are you receiving happiness or are you pushing, trying to go after it? What would it look like if you just switched that? Whatever it is that you're going after and pushing so hard for to instead lean into the receiving energy of that. What does that look like for you?

Speaker 1:

So it's something that's really served me in the first part of this new year of having receive be my word for 2023 and just being open to receiving the abundance that life gets to give to all of us. So I invite you to try that on, see how that fits for yourself and, if it does, send me an email or not an email a direct message on Instagram. I would love to hear from you that this is landing from you. Sometimes I feel like I'm speaking into the abyss and I would just love to know that this is landing from you. Sometimes I feel like I'm speaking into the abyss and I would just love to know that this is something that's making a difference for you in your life. So here's to another great week of living intentionally.
