Hey everyone, welcome to our deep dive today.
Speaker 2It's great to be here.
Speaker 1We're diving into 50 devotional journal prompts. A blog post by Clara Penrose from Listallion.
Speaker 2Oh, I read that one.
Speaker 1Yeah, it was published on October 11th.
Speaker 2Very recently yeah.
Speaker 1I thought it'd be interesting to go through some of these prompts because you know they're designed to kind of strengthen your faith and help you connect more deeply with God.
Speaker 2For sure not just random prompts.
Speaker 1Right, and they're grouped by theme.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1Like God's love. Okay, trusting God's plan, seeking peace, strengthening faith through prayer and embracing gratitude.
Speaker 2It's almost like they take you through the different stages or different aspects of your walk with God and I like how they all really tie back to that inner reflection and prayer and gratitude, yeah.
Speaker 1It feels like there's something here for everyone, no matter where they are in their faith journey.
Speaker 2Definitely.
Speaker 1So should we start with God's love? Sure, some of these prompts are so powerful, like how have you experienced God's love this week? Or what does God's love mean to you personally?
Speaker 2Yeah, that's a good one.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2They really make you stop and think about those little things where you can see evidence of God's love Right.
Speaker 1It's not just about the big, life-changing moment. Exactly it's about seeing it in everyday life.
Speaker 2Right, maybe someone helped you out when you really needed it.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2Or you had a moment of peace.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2When you were feeling super feeling super stress. Even just taking a moment to appreciate nature.
Speaker 1Oh yeah.
Speaker 2All those little things can be signs of God's love.
Speaker 1I love that. And there's this other prompt that I think is important. Okay, it asks when was the time you struggled to believe in God's love?
Speaker 2Oh yeah.
Speaker 1Because we all have those moments right.
Speaker 2Absolutely. We're human, we doubt, we question Exactly, but it's about how we deal with those moments that really matters, and that's what Clara emphasizes in the blog post.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2Thinking back to the times when you did feel God's love strongly and being thankful for those experiences that can help you get through the tougher times. You know, her blog post actually says God's love is always present, even when we feel distant. It's through moments of reflection and gratitude that we begin to understand the depth of his love.
Speaker 1That is so beautiful. It is Okay, so getting into the next section, trusting God's plan. Okay, I think this one will resonate with a lot of listeners. How do you remain patient when God's timing doesn't match your own?
Speaker 2Oh yeah.
Speaker 1That's a tough one.
Speaker 2Especially in today's world right.
Speaker 1Totally.
Speaker 2Where everything is so fast-paced.
Speaker 1Yes.
Speaker 2We want things to happen right now.
Speaker 1Exactly, but sometimes God has a different plan.
Speaker 2Right, and that requires us to let go. Yeah, which Sometimes God has a different plan. Right, and that requires us to let go.
Speaker 1Yeah, which can be hard, so hard. But I think that's the challenge here Trusting that God's timing is perfect Absolutely, even when it doesn't make sense to us.
Speaker 2Clara shares a really powerful story in the blog post about how God's plan can be so much bigger than what we initially hoped for.
Speaker 1Really.
Speaker 2Yeah, it's a good reminder that we don't always have the full picture.
Speaker 1That's so true. We only see a small part of it.
Speaker 2Right.
Speaker 1And she says in the blog post trusting in God's plan means having faith that his way is greater than our own. Surrendering control brings peace even when the path is unclear.
Speaker 2Letting go of that need to micromanage everything, to control every outcome, and having faith that we're being guided, even if we don't know exactly where we're going.
Speaker 1It's all about trust.
Speaker 2It is.
Speaker 1I love that. Okay, the next section is seeking peace in God's presence. Okay, I think this is really relevant to our lives today, because so many people are dealing with stress.
Speaker 2Yeah, it's everywhere it is yeah.
Speaker 1And one prompt that stands out to me is how do you find peace in God's presence during stressful moments?
Speaker 2It's about finding that quiet space within that inner stillness. Clara calls it resting in God's peace. I like that. It's not that the stress goes away completely.
Speaker 1Right.
Speaker 2But you find a way to be calm even in the middle of it all, right, and these prompts help us do that. By connecting with God. Yeah, through prayer, meditation, spending time in nature.
Speaker 1It's like hitting pause on all the craziness. Yeah, and finding that quiet space where God is.
Speaker 2Exactly.
Speaker 1And now I want to talk about strengthening faith through prayer.
Speaker 2Okay.
Speaker 1I'm really curious about this prompt.
Speaker 2Which one?
Speaker 1What is one way you've seen God answer your prayers?
Speaker 2Oh, that's a great question.
Speaker 1Yeah, because it makes you look back and think about how God has worked in your life.
Speaker 2We all have those stories, I think.
Speaker 1I think so too.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1It reminds us that prayer is a two-way street.
Speaker 2It is.
Speaker 1We're not just talking to God.
Speaker 2Right.
Speaker 1He's talking to us too.
Speaker 2Exactly.
Speaker 1We just need to be open to hearing his answers.
Speaker 2And they come in different ways too. Sometimes it's a direct yes to what we've asked for. Sometimes it's more subtle, a gentle nudge in the right direction, maybe a new opportunity that appears, or even just a feeling of peace, and sometimes God's answer is no.
Speaker 1Or not yet.
Speaker 2Yeah, it's about holding on to our faith even when we don't get the answer we want.
Speaker 1Exactly, and Clara makes a really important point in the blog post. What's that? She says prayer is the foundation of a strong faith.
Speaker 2I love that.
Speaker 1Through prayer we stay connected to God, trust in his will and open our hearts to his guidance.
Speaker 2That's so powerful.
Speaker 1It is.
Speaker 2It's about surrendering to something bigger than ourselves.
Speaker 1Right, trusting that God knows what's best.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1Even when we don't.
Speaker 2That's hard.
Speaker 1It is Okay, let's move on to the last section, embracing gratitude in faith.
Speaker 2Okay.
Speaker 1And I love this prompt. What is one thing you're grateful for in your faith journey today?
Speaker 2It's about choosing to see the good even when things are tough.
Speaker 1Yeah, it's a shift in perspective.
Speaker 2It is, and Clara really believes in the power of gratitude. She says, it brings more joy and peace into our lives.
Speaker 1And it's something we can all do.
Speaker 2Absolutely. It's as simple as taking a moment each day to appreciate the good things we have.
Speaker 1Even the small things.
Speaker 2That's such a great point and it's so connected to our faith too, because gratitude is about recognizing that everything we have is a gift from god. Wow, that's a powerful realization it is.
Speaker 1It's humbling, definitely okay. So we've gone through these prompts and talked about how they can strengthen our connection with God.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1I'm amazed by how practical they are. They make you really look at your life and see the evidence of God's presence.
Speaker 2They're not just vague concepts. They give you something concrete to think about.
Speaker 1And I like how Clara doesn't just tell us to be more faithful or grateful.
Speaker 2Right.
Speaker 1She actually gives us tools to do it.
Speaker 2Yeah, she gives you the how-to.
Speaker 1It's like a roadmap.
Speaker 2Yeah, it's like a guide.
Speaker 1And it's a journey that anyone can take.
Speaker 2Absolutely.
Speaker 1No matter where you are in your faith.
Speaker 2It's about making that personal connection in a way that feels real and meaningful to you.
Speaker 1Right, and there's no right way to do this.
Speaker 2Exactly.
Speaker 1Some people might journal in the morning, yeah, others at night. Some might write pages and pages Right, some just a few lines.
Speaker 2It doesn't matter. What matters is finding what works for you, yes, and making it a habit.
Speaker 1Exactly.
Speaker 2Living a few minutes each day.
Speaker 1Yeah, make a big difference. I agree, it's all about consistency.
Speaker 2It is.
Speaker 1That's what can lead to those big changes in our lives.
Speaker 2Yeah, that's where the transformation happens.
Speaker 1It's like those small steps add up over time they build on each other. And, before you know it, you've made real progress.
Speaker 2You're in a different place.
Speaker 1Exactly.
Speaker 2And it's a better place. Yes A place of deeper faith and connection.
Speaker 1I love that. Well, we're going to take a quick break.

Speaker 2Definitely.
Speaker 1Maybe even discover a deeper sense of purpose.

Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2You're just uncovering it.
Speaker 1It's amazing how these prompts can really bring that out.
Speaker 2It is, they're so powerful.
Speaker 1And what's interesting to me is how interconnected they all are.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1Like they all point towards this better understanding of ourselves and our relationship with God.
Speaker 2Right, it's like they're all pieces of the same puzzle.
Speaker 1Exactly, and as we delve deeper into these prompts, yeah. They all seem to connect back to each other.
Speaker 2They do Like, for example, when we trust God's plan.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2It encourages us to let go of control Right, which often leads to peace.
Speaker 1Right.
Speaker 2And that peace allows us to experience god's love more folly.
Speaker 1Wow, it's like a beautiful cycle it is, it all comes full circle. Yeah it's a holistic spiritual experience yeah, where everything supports and strengthens each other, that's pretty powerful it is and it shows you the real power of devotional journaling.
Speaker 2It's not just about writing down your feelings. It's about actively engaging with your faith and allowing it to change you from the inside out.
Speaker 1I love that. It's like creating this space for reflection, for growth, for being guided by something bigger than ourselves.
Speaker 2Exactly, and I think that's what makes these prompts so special.
Speaker 1What do you mean?
Speaker 2They're so accessible oh yeah. They're written in a way that anyone can understand.
Speaker 1Right, no matter your background or how experienced you are with your faith.

Speaker 2Hmm, I'd say don't overthink it.
