Speaker 1Huh, and it's all about giving you those prompts, those starting points.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1To really help you unpack everything that's going on.
Speaker 2Because it's so important.
Speaker 1It is.
Speaker 2To have that outlet.
Speaker 1Totally.
Speaker 2To just process your thoughts and feelings and figure out who you are.
Speaker 1Exactly, and this blog post. It's like a gold mine, this blog post.
Speaker 2It's like a gold mine 50 prompts, that's a lot.
Speaker 1It is. We're not going to go through all 50. Okay good, but we're going to pick out some of the ones that we thought were the most interesting.
Speaker 2The most helpful.
Speaker 1The most helpful, the ones that really jumped out at us.
Speaker 2Awesome.
Speaker 1So let's start with the first category, which is all about reflecting on personal growth, which I think is so key in high school.
Speaker 2You're figuring out who you are.
Speaker 1Exactly who are you, what high school You're figuring?
Speaker 2out who you are Exactly. Who are you? What are your values, what are your strengths?
Speaker 1What are you good at All?
Speaker 2of that Love it.
Speaker 1So the first prompt that really stood out to us was what is one thing you've learned about yourself in the past month?
Speaker 2Okay, Simple but powerful.
Speaker 1It is simple, right, but it's so easy to just go through life without really stopping.
Speaker 2And thinking about it.
Speaker 1Yeah, Like what have I actually learned about myself recently?
Speaker 2Totally.
Speaker 1Even if it's a small thing.
Speaker 2Because those small things can add up.
Speaker 1They can.
Speaker 2Maybe you realized you love working with your hands. Oh, that's a good one or that you're really good at explaining things to people.
Speaker 1Oh, yeah, like tutoring.
Speaker 2Exactly those are things that can shape your future.
Speaker 1They can. And another prompt that we thought was really interesting in this category is think about a mistake you made recently.
Speaker 2Ooh mistakes.
Speaker 1We all make them.
Speaker 2We do.
Speaker 1Especially in high school.
Speaker 2it feels like the stakes are so high.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2Everything feels so important.
Speaker 1But this prompt isn't about beating yourself up over those mistakes.
Speaker 2No.
Speaker 1It's about saying okay, I made a mistake.
Speaker 2What can I learn from it?
Speaker 1Yeah, what went wrong?
Speaker 2How can I do better next time? Exactly, high school is actually a great time to make mistakes.
Speaker 1It is.
Speaker 2Because you can learn from them.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2And the consequences aren't usually as serious as they'll be later in life.
Speaker 1So true? Ok, moving on to the next category.
Speaker 2Let's do it Relationships. The drama.
Speaker 1High school is all about relationships.
Speaker 2It's a social jungle out there.
Speaker 1It is, and this blog post has a whole section dedicated to navigating those relationships. Nice, so one of the prompts that stood out to us was think of a time you had a disagreement with someone close.
Speaker 2Ooh, disagreements happen.
Speaker 1All the time.
Speaker 2All the time, especially with people we care about.
Speaker 1But this prompt is about looking at how you handle those disagreements.
Speaker 2That's important.
Speaker 1It is because sometimes we react in the heat of the moment.
Speaker 2Right.
Speaker 1And then later we're like oh well, we should have said that differently.
Speaker 2Right, or maybe I shouldn't have said that at all.
Speaker 1Exactly.
Speaker 2So this prompt helps you think about your communication style.
Speaker 1Yeah, like, do you listen to the other person?
Speaker 2Do you try to see their perspective?
Speaker 1Or do you just shut down?
Speaker 2Or do you get defensive All?
Speaker 1of those things are important to think about.
Speaker 2Absolutely.
Speaker 1Another prompt in this section that we liked was how do you feel when someone truly listens to you?
Speaker 2That's a good one.
Speaker 1It is right, Think about it. When someone really listens to you without interrupting.
Speaker 2Without judging.
Speaker 1Without offering advice. You didn't ask for.
Speaker 2Just truly hearing you.
Speaker 1It feels amazing.
Speaker 2It does.
Speaker 1It makes you feel seen.
Speaker 2Validated.
Speaker 1Respected.
Speaker 2Exactly.
Speaker 1And this prompt reminds us that we should be doing that for others too.
Speaker 2So important.
Speaker 1Being a good listener.
Speaker 2It's a skill.
Speaker 1It is and it makes such a difference in your relationship.
Speaker 2It does People feel valued when they're truly listened to.
Speaker 1Okay, ready to shift gears a little bit. Always, let's talk about passions.
Speaker 2Oh, I love this.
Speaker 1Me too. This is the fun stuff.
Speaker 2What lights you up?
Speaker 1Exactly.
Speaker 2The things that make you lose track of time, the things you could talk about for hours.
Speaker 1Yes, so this category in the blog post is all about exploring passions and interests.
Speaker 2I'm ready.
Speaker 1And the first prompt that we wanted to highlight is if you could spend an entire day doing one thing, what would it be?
Speaker 2Ooh, a whole day, no limits.
Speaker 1No limits, no obligations.
Speaker 2This is a good one.
Speaker 1What would you do?
Speaker 2I'd probably be out in nature.
Speaker 1Oh, that's nice Hiking.
Speaker 2Hiking, exploring, taking pictures.
Speaker 1That sounds amazing.
Speaker 2What about you?
Speaker 1I think I would be curled up with a good book, classic, maybe writing or painting.
Speaker 2See, this prompt tells you so much about yourself.
Speaker 1It does. It's like a window into your soul, your values, your priorities, exactly. And then another prompt that we thought was really cool in this section was write about a hobby you've always wanted to try, but haven't yet we all have those we do what's yours. I've always wanted to try pottery, oh that's so cool I love the idea of creating something with my hands. Me too, I've always wanted to learn how to play the drums.
Speaker 2Really yeah, that's awesome.
Speaker 1But I've never taken the time to actually learn.
Speaker 2Well, maybe this is your sign.
Speaker 1Maybe it is.
Speaker 2This prompt is all about overcoming those barriers.
Speaker 1Yeah, like fear, self-doubt or just procrastinating.
Speaker 2Whatever's holding you back.
Speaker 1So what's stopping you from trying that hobby?
Speaker 2I guess I'm a little intimidated.
Speaker 1It can be scary to try something new, especially if you're not sure if you'll be good at it. I get that, yeah, but that's the beauty of it, it is, you don't have to be good at it. You're right, it's about the process.
Speaker 2The joy of learning.
Speaker 1The exploration.
Speaker 2Exactly.
Speaker 1Okay, let's move on to a topic that can be a little bit stressful.
Speaker 2Uh-oh, what's that?
Speaker 1School life.
Speaker 2Yeah, that can be a lot.
Speaker 1It can be especially in high school.
Speaker 2Tests, homework, deadlines extracurriculars.
Speaker 1It's a lot to juggle.
Speaker 2It is.
Speaker 1So this category in the blog post is all about finding ways to manage all of that.
Speaker 2Strategies for success.
Speaker 1Exactly, and one of the prompts that we thought was really helpful was think about a moment you felt really prepared for a test or project.
Speaker 2Okay, I like this.
Speaker 1It's about figuring out what works for you.
Speaker 2Your study habits.
Speaker 1Your time management techniques.
Speaker 2Because we all learn differently.
Speaker 1We do.
Speaker 2What works for one person might not work for another.
Speaker 1Totally so. What did you do differently that time? You felt really prepared.
Speaker 2Hmm, I think I actually started studying earlier than usual oh well, that's a good one.
Speaker 1I didn't cram the night before it makes such a difference, doesn't it?
Speaker 2it does. I felt so much less stress, yeah, and I actually remembered the material better amazing.
Speaker 1What about you? For me, I think it was about breaking down the material into smaller chunks oh yeah instead of trying to learn everything at once.
Speaker 2Makes it less overwhelming.
Speaker 1It does. And then another prompt that we liked in this category was think of a time you felt overwhelmed by schoolwork.
Speaker 2Oh, that's relatable. We've all been there, definitely.
Speaker 1But this prompt is about looking at how you coped with that feeling.
Speaker 2Because it's important to have healthy coping mechanisms.
Speaker 1It is. Did you reach out for help?
Speaker 2Did you take a break?
Speaker 1Did you try to prioritize and delegate?
Speaker 2All good strategies.
Speaker 1They are, and sometimes just acknowledging that you're feeling overwhelmed can be helpful in itself. They can. It's like saying, OK, I'm feeling this way, but I'm not going to let it control me.
Speaker 2It's about taking back your power.
Speaker 1Exactly.
Speaker 2I like that and sometimes you know it helps to remember that everybody feels that way sometimes.
Speaker 1Oh, totally Like. You're not alone.
Speaker 2Exactly Everyone feels overwhelmed sometimes.
Speaker 1Especially in high school.
Speaker 2Yeah, high school's tough.
Preparing for the Future
Speaker 1Okay, so we're still talking about managing that school life.
Speaker 2Okay.
Speaker 1And this next prompt. It's kind of about planning ahead.
Speaker 2All right, tell me more.
Speaker 1So it asks how do you prepare for a busy day?
Speaker 2Okay, so like routines and stuff.
Speaker 1Yeah, like, what are the things you can do to make those busy days a little bit easier?
Speaker 2Oh, I love that.
Speaker 1It's like think of it like a game plan, like if you were an athlete getting ready for a big competition. You wouldn't just show up unprepared.
Speaker 2Yeah, no way you got to warm up. You got a strategy, exactly.
Speaker 1So for school, maybe it's packing your bag the night before.
Speaker 2Oh yeah, that's a good one.
Speaker 1Or maybe it's planning out your study schedule for the week.
Speaker 2Makes a big difference.
Speaker 1It does. It's all about being proactive.
Speaker 2Instead of reactive.
Speaker 1Yes, and then another prompt in this category that I thought was really interesting was think about a school activity you're involved in.
Speaker 2Okay.
Speaker 1Why do you participate and what do you get out of it?
Speaker 2I like that.
Speaker 1It's so easy to get caught up in the academic side of things.
Speaker 2The grades.
Speaker 1Yeah, but high school is so much more than that.
Speaker 2It is.
Speaker 1There are so many opportunities to explore your interests, to meet new people.
Speaker 2To build skills, exactly. So what kind of activities were you into in high school?
Speaker 1Oh, let's see, I was in the drama club.
Speaker 2Nice, me too. No way, yeah, that's awesome.
Speaker 1What kind of plays were you in?
Speaker 2Oh, we did a lot of musicals. Yeah, it was a blast.
Speaker 1And what did you get out of it?
Speaker 2Hmm, I think it really helped me with my confidence.
Speaker 1Oh yeah.
Speaker 2Getting up on stage in front of people. Yeah, and it taught me how to work as part of a team.
Speaker 1That's huge.
Speaker 2It is. Those are skills that are valuable in any career.
Speaker 1Absolutely.
Speaker 2What about you? What did you get out of drama club?
Speaker 1I think for me, it was all about finding my people.
Speaker 2Oh, I love that.
Speaker 1Like those people who just get you Like tribe? Yeah, it was a safe space to be myself.
Speaker 2To express yourself creatively.
Speaker 1Exactly.
Speaker 2Okay, so we've talked about reflecting on personal growth, navigating relationships, exploring passions and managing school life.
Speaker 1What's next?
Speaker 2Well, I think it's time to look ahead.
Speaker 1To the future.
Speaker 2To the future. To the future, the big unknown.
Speaker 1The exciting unknown.
Speaker 2It can be a little scary.
Speaker 1It can be, but it's also full of possibilities.
Speaker 2So many possibilities.
Speaker 1So this category in the blog post is all about looking towards the future.
Speaker 2Okay, let's hear it.
Speaker 1And the first prompt that really jumped out at us was describe the kind of person you hope to become in the next few years.
Speaker 2I like that.

Speaker 2Like what kind of qualities do you want to embody?
Speaker 1Exactly. Do you want to be known for your kindness?
Speaker 2Your intelligence.
Speaker 1Your creativity.
Speaker 2Your resilience.
Speaker 1It's about envisioning your best self.
Speaker 2And then working towards that vision.
Speaker 1Yes, and building on that idea. The next prompt asks what's one skill you want to develop that could help you in the future?
Speaker 2Ooh, I like this one too.
Speaker 1It's never too early to start thinking about those skills.
Speaker 2No, it's not.
Speaker 1That will make you more marketable, more well-rounded.
Speaker 2More prepared for whatever comes your way.
Speaker 1Exactly so what's a skill you'd like to develop?
Speaker 2Hmm, you know, I've always thought about learning another language. Oh, that's cool. Yeah, it would open up so many possibilities.
Speaker 1And travel.
Speaker 2For communication.
Speaker 1For work even.
Speaker 2Exactly what about you? What skill are you thinking about?
Speaker 1You know I've always been interested in coding.
Speaker 2Really.
Speaker 1Yeah, it seems like such a valuable skill to have these days.
Speaker 2It is especially in the tech world.
Speaker 1Right, and even if I don't end up going into tech, just having that basic understanding of how coding works.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1I think it would be really helpful.
Speaker 2Problem solving.
