Journal For Mindfulness - The Mindful Experience of Journaling
https://lestallion.com/collections/journal-notebook-for-mindfulness
Have you ever scrolled past yet another Lestallion journal ad and wondered what makes these notebooks so special? We certainly did, which is why we decided to take a deep dive into the phenomenon that's turning ordinary journalers into passionate advocates for this mindfulness-focused brand.
What we discovered goes far beyond marketing hype. Lestallion has masterfully blurred the lines between product and practice, creating journals where every physical feature serves a mindfulness purpose. From the satisfying weight of 120 GSM paper that prevents distracting bleed-through to the specially engineered binding that allows pages to lay perfectly flat while you write, these journals eliminate the small frustrations that can pull you out of a reflective state. Even the back pocket isn't just a convenient storage space—it's designed as a home for personal mementos that ground you in positive emotions and present-moment awareness.
Throughout our conversation, we share personal stories of how journaling transformed our perspectives during difficult times. One of us found that a simple gratitude practice shifted focus from negativity to appreciation, while another discovered that processing a painful breakup through writing revealed patterns and led to meaningful life changes. These experiences highlight what Lestallion seems to understand intuitively: journaling isn't just about recording thoughts—it's about creating a sacred space for self-discovery. As writer Anaïs Nin beautifully expressed, "We write to taste life twice, in the moment and in retrospect."
Whether you're a skeptic or already a journaling enthusiast, our exploration might inspire you to pick up a pen and discover how this simple practice can make mindfulness more accessible than you ever thought possible. No meditation retreat required—just a few minutes each day with your thoughts and a blank page. Ready to see if Lestallion lives up to the hype? We certainly are.

Hey everyone and welcome back for another deep dive. You know, today we're going to be looking at Lestallion journals and you know, I know those are pretty popular nowadays. But we thought it'd be really interesting to kind of dig into their website a little bit and see what they have to say about mindfulness and how they kind of connect that to their product.
Speaker 2:Yeah, it seems like every time I open up Instagram there's another ad for a Lestallion journal.
Speaker 1:Right, like they're everywhere, and it makes you wonder, like, is it all hype or is there something more to this?
Speaker 2:I think they've definitely tapped into something, though, right Like this whole idea of mindfulness is huge right now, and they're kind of positioning themselves like the go-to journal for that.
Speaker 1:Totally. And it's interesting because when I first heard about them I just thought, oh, it's just another journal company. But they really do seem to be going beyond just the product itself. You know, it's like they're trying to build a whole community, or like a lifestyle brand, around this idea of mindfulness.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I think they're trying to sell an experience more than just a notebook.
Speaker 1:Exactly and it's working because people are buying into it. You know, I know a few people who swear by their listallion journals. They say it's like totally changed their journaling practice.
Speaker 2:I'm curious to see what they're actually saying on their website, though, Like how are they connecting those dots between the physical journal and this whole idea of mindfulness?
Speaker 1:Well, let's dive in and find out, shall we? So I was clicking around their website earlier, and one thing that really stood out to me was how much they emphasize the physical features of their journals oh, interesting, like what kind of features? Well, they talk a lot about the quality of the paper you know it's like this thick 120 gsm wood free ivory paper. They even have a whole section on their website dedicated to explaining why that's important for mindfulness journaling okay, so I can kind of see where they're going with that.
Speaker 2:Like, using high quality materials can definitely enhance the whole experience.
Speaker 1:Right, Like if you're trying to be mindful and present in the moment. You don't want to be distracted by scratchy paper or ink that bleeds through.
Speaker 2:Exactly. It's like those little annoyances can totally take you out of that flow state.
Speaker 1:Totally. And they also talk about the way their journals are bound, like they use this special binding technique that allows the journal to lay flat.
Speaker 2:Oh, that's nice. I hate it when you have to like wrestle with a journal to keep it open.
Speaker 1:Right. And they say that having the journal lay flat encourages you to write more freely because you're not fighting with the spine. You know.
Speaker 2:I can see how that would make a difference.
Speaker 1:Like it's more conducive to just letting your thoughts flow out onto the page. Yeah, and it's those little details that make me think they've really put some thought into how the physical journal can impact your mindfulness practice.
Speaker 2:Yeah, it seems like they're not just throwing any old notebook together and slapping a mindfulness label on it, you know.
Speaker 1:Absolutely.
Speaker 2:And another feature that caught my eye was the back pocket that they include in all their journals. Oh yeah, what's the deal with that?
Speaker 1:I've always wondered. Well, on their website they say it's meant to be a space for you to store little reminders or inspirations, things that bring you joy and help you stay grounded in the present moment.
Speaker 2:Okay, so like little mementos or quotes or something like that.
Speaker 1:Exactly. They even suggest tucking in a dried flower or a photograph, something that has personal meaning to you. I kind of like that. It's like a little secret pocket of positivity, you know Right, and it's another example of how they're going beyond just the basic function of a journal and trying to create something more intentional and meaningful. I'm starting to see a pattern here.
Speaker 2:It seems like every feature has a mindfulness angle to it. Definitely they're really trying to create something more intentional and meaningful. I'm starting to see a pattern here.
Speaker 1:It seems like every feature has a mindfulness angle to it. Definitely, they're really trying to create a holistic experience with these journals. You know, it's not just about writing, it's about creating a space for reflection and self-discovery.
Speaker 2:It's almost like they're treating the journal as a tool for mindfulness in and of itself.
Speaker 1:Exactly, and I think that's what makes them so interesting, because they're really blurring the lines between a product and a practice, you know.
Speaker 2:Yeah, it's like they're saying hey, here's a journal, but it's more than just a journal, it's a companion on your mindfulness journey.
Speaker 1:You know what? It's funny because my sister was telling me about how she got into Lestallion journals.
Speaker 2:And she was saying that the act of choosing a journal and a pen felt really ritualistic for her, you know, oh yeah, I can see that like it's almost like setting an intention before you even start writing exactly, and she said that having a beautiful journal that she loved actually made her want to journal more, which is something she's always struggled with in the past that makes sense. It's like when you have nice tools, you're more likely to use them.
Speaker 1:Yeah, you totally, and she said that the quality of the paper made a big difference too. She's a bit of a paper snob like me, and she said the smooth, thick pages just made the whole experience more enjoyable.
Speaker 2:It's like everything about the journal is designed to enhance the experience of writing and reflection.
Speaker 1:Exactly, and you know, it's making me think about this friend of mine who's a musician. He's always saying that he gets his best ideas when he's just messing around on his guitar, you know, like when he's not trying to force anything, just letting the music flow through him.
Speaker 2:Oh yeah, I totally get that. It's like when you're not overthinking it, that's when the magic happens.
Speaker 1:Right and I think there's a parallel there with journaling. You know like sometimes, when you're just free writing, without any agenda or pressure, that's when the most insightful thoughts come out.
Speaker 2:Yeah, it's like you're giving your subconscious mind a chance to speak.
Speaker 1:Exactly, and I think that's what Listallion is trying to tap into with these journals.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 1:You know they're trying to create a space where you can just be present with your thoughts and feelings and let them flow onto the page.
Speaker 2:It's like they're giving you permission to just be yourself, without judgment or self-criticism, totally, and I think that's a really powerful message, especially in today's world, where we're constantly bombarded with distractions and pressures.
Speaker 1:Yeah, it's like they're offering a sanctuary, a place where you can disconnect from all the noise and reconnect with yourself Exactly, and you know what it's making me want to go out and buy a Lestallion journal myself now, just to see what all the hype is about.
Speaker 2:Me too. I'm curious to experience it firsthand and see if it lives up to all the promises.
Speaker 1:Well, maybe we should make that our homework assignment for next time. You know, go out and get ourselves a Lestallion journal, and then we can come back and share our experiences.
Speaker 2:I'm down for that. It'll be interesting to see how these journals actually impact our own mindfulness practices.
Speaker 1:Awesome. Well, it looks like we've got our work cut out for us, then. Until next time, happy journaling everyone.
Speaker 2:Happy journaling.
Speaker 1:It's like they really thought about everything you know, like how all these little details can add up to create a more mindful experience.
Speaker 2:Yeah, it's not just about the writing itself, it's about the whole ritual, the whole process, you know.
Speaker 1:Exactly.
Speaker 2:And another thing they talk about on their website is the importance of using prompts to guide your journaling practice oh yeah, I've heard about that like using specific questions or themes to help you focus your thoughts Right and Lestallion actually includes a bunch of different prompts in their journals, like things like what are you grateful for today or what's one thing you want to accomplish this week?
Speaker 2:Okay. So it's kind of like they're giving you a starting point, you know, like if you're feeling stuck or you don't know what to write about, you can just pick a prompt and go from there.
Speaker 1:Exactly, and they say that using prompts can help you explore different aspects of yourself and uncover insights that you might not have otherwise thought about.
Speaker 2:That makes sense. It's like having a little nudge in the right direction.
Speaker 1:And you know what it reminds me of this time when I was feeling really lost and directionless in my life and a friend of mine suggested I try this gratitude journaling exercise.
Speaker 2:Oh yeah, what was that?
Speaker 1:Well, she told me to write down three things. I was grateful for every day for a month and I was like really, yeah, that's it. But I decided to give it a try and I was actually surprised by how much it helped.
Speaker 2:So like, what kind of things were you writing about?
Speaker 1:At first it was just like basic stuff, you know, like my family and my health is a roof over my head. But as I kept doing it, I started to notice more and more things to be grateful for, like the way the sun felt on my skin or a really good cup of coffee.
Speaker 2:It's like you started to appreciate the little things more.
Speaker 1:Exactly, and it really shifted my perspective. I started to feel more positive and hopeful and less stuck in my own negativity.
Speaker 2:That's awesome. It's like that, saying you know what you focus on, expands.
Speaker 1:Right, and I think that's what Lestallion is trying to do with their journals. They're trying to help people focus on the good, the positive, the things that bring them joy.
Speaker 2:And using prompts can be a really effective way to do that, because it gives you a structure and a framework for your thoughts.
Speaker 1:Totally. And you know what? It's funny because I used to think that mindfulness was all about like meditating for hours on end or like going on silent retreats. You know?
Speaker 2:Yeah, I used to think that too, like it seemed so intimidating and out of reach.
Speaker 1:But now I'm realizing that mindfulness can be something as simple as taking a few minutes each day to reflect on your thoughts and feelings.
Speaker 2:Exactly, it's about being present in the moment and paying attention to what's going on inside of you.
Speaker 1:And a journal can be a really helpful tool for that, because it gives and it's like having a record of your journey.
Speaker 2:You know you can look back and see how far you've come and what you've learned along the way.
Speaker 1:That's so true, and you know what's making me think about this other friend of mine who's a writer, and she always carries a notebook with her everywhere she goes.
Speaker 2:Oh yeah, I know a few people that they're like always jotting down ideas or observations.
Speaker 1:Right and she told me that her notebook is like her lifeline it's where she processes her thoughts and works through her creative blocks.
Speaker 2:It's like a safe space for her to just be herself and let her thoughts flow out.
Speaker 1:Exactly, and I think that's what a good journal should be, you know. It should be a place where you feel comfortable and free to express yourself without judgment.
Speaker 2:And a place where you can connect with your inner wisdom and tap into your creativity.
Speaker 1:Absolutely, and I think Lestallion is really on to something with their approach to mindfulness journaling. You know, it's not just a product, it's a philosophy. Yeah, they're really trying to change the way people think about journaling and make it more accessible and appealing to a wider audience. And you know what? I think they're succeeding because more and more people are starting to see the value of mindfulness and they're looking for tools to help them cultivate it in their daily lives.
Speaker 2:And Listallion is definitely providing one of those tools. Well said so I guess the question now is are we ready to join the Listallion Club? I think it's time to give it a try, you know. See if it lives up to all the hype.
Speaker 1:I'm game, let's do it.
Speaker 2:Yeah hype.
Speaker 1:I'm game, let's do it. Yeah, you know it's funny, because I used to think that journaling was just for, like teenagers or people who are going through like major life changes, you know.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I had this image in my head of like a teenage girl writing in her diary with a lock and key.
Speaker 1:Right, but now I'm realizing that journaling can be beneficial for anyone, regardless of their age or their life circumstances.
Speaker 2:It's like a tool for self-reflection and growth. You know it's a way to connect with your inner thoughts and feelings and make sense of the world around you.
Speaker 1:Exactly, and I think Lestallion is really tapping into that. With their whole mindfulness approach, you know they're making journaling seem less like this daunting task and more like this enjoyable and accessible practice.
Speaker 2:Yeah, it's like they're taking the stigma out of it and making it cool, you know.
Speaker 1:Totally, and you know what that's making me think about. This time, when I was going through a really tough breakup and I was a mess, I was like crying all the time, couldn't sleep, couldn't eat.
Speaker 2:Oh man, breakups are the worst.
Speaker 1:I know Right, and a friend of mine suggested that I try writing down my feelings in a journal and at first I was like resistant because I thought it was going to be like super cheesy and awkward, you know. Yeah, I get that Like who wants to relive all that pain, right, but I was desperate, so I decided to give it a try and I was actually surprised by how much it helped. Like just the act of getting all those thoughts and feelings out of my head and onto paper was so cathartic.
Speaker 2:It's like you were releasing them, you know, instead of bottling them up inside.
Speaker 1:Exactly, and as I kept writing, I started to notice patterns in my thinking, like I was able to see how my own insecurities and fears were contributing to my unhappiness.
Speaker 2:So it was like you were gaining self-awareness through the process of writing.
Speaker 1:Totally, and it helped me to start making changes in my life.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 1:You know like I started going to therapy, I started exercising more, I started spending more time with loved ones.
Speaker 2:Wow. So journaling was like a catalyst for positive change in your life.
Speaker 1:It really was, and you know what it's making me think about this quote by the writer Anais Nin. She said we write to taste life twice in the moment and in retrospect.
Speaker 2:Ooh, I like that.
Speaker 1:Right, and I think that's so true, because when you journal, you're not only processing your experiences in the moment, but you're also creating a record of your journey that you can look back on later and learn from.
Speaker 2:It's like you're giving yourself the gift of perspective you know.
Speaker 1:Exactly, and I think that's one of those powerful things about journaling it allows you to step outside of yourself and see your life from a different angle.
Speaker 2:And that can be really helpful for growth and healing, you know.
Speaker 1:Absolutely so. I guess the takeaway here is that journaling can be a really powerful tool for mindfulness and self-discovery, you know, and it doesn't have to be this big scary thing, it can be as simple as taking a few minutes each day to write down your thoughts and feelings big scary thing.
Speaker 2:It can be as simple as taking a few minutes each day to write down your thoughts and feelings. Yeah, just start small and see where it takes you. You know you might be surprised by what you uncover.
Speaker 1:Well said so to our listeners. We encourage you to explore the world of journaling and see if you can become your own personal pathway to mindfulness and well-being.
Speaker 2:And who knows, maybe it'll even inspire you to write your own deep dive someday.
Speaker 1:Uh-huh, that would be awesome. Well, that's all the time we have for today's deep dive, but we hope you enjoyed it and we'll see you next time.
