KSP #45 - Mistah Chante Talks About Being Nominated for a Na Hoku Hanohano Award

On today's episode, we have recording artist and Na Hoku Hanohano 2023 nominee, Mistah Chante, on the podcast! Mistah Chante grew up playing the ukulele before transitioning to playing on the keyboard. He would join his family in jam sessions when he was young, which introduced him to the music world. It wasn't until he went to the Mele Program where things shifted for him, and he really wanted to pursue music as a career. Fast forward to today, Mistah Chante is nominated for a Na Hoku Hanohano Awards for "Most Promising Artist" award for his first solo EP Ready. 

We talk about his reaction to being nominated for a Na Hoku Hanohano Award, his time in the Mele Program, the meaning behind his EP Ready, his recent tour, which artists inspired him, how we got the name Mistah Chante, and much more.
