Nights out on the town are great, but when you're a busy married couple with two kids sometimes it's more relaxing to make cocktails at home and watch a movie on your favorite streaming service. David and Jessica started Date Night In as an entertaining way to review movies available on Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, and Disney Plus while suggesting a cocktail pairing to go along with the viewing.

Flamin' Hot (2023)
In this week's episode Dave & Jess watch Flamin' Hot, which is available on Hulu. They pair this movie with a Pickman's Modelo drink for a spicy matchup. Is this flick a welcome punch up of the rags-to-riches trope? Or is it an unpalatable take on a tried and true formula?
The couple also provides their favorite Flamin' Hot brand snacks, and discuss how the movie's theme of a minority child encountering racism reflected their own childhood experiences. Other topics discussed include the writer's Netflix TV show Gentefied, and the controversy surrounding Richard Montanez and his claim to have created the Flamin' Hot brand. David also says why he hates standard rags-to-riches movies that stem from the Horatio Algers storytelling model, and the couple discuss why Disneyland's Genie+ is worth every penny even though it's price gouging.
