Escape to Egypt: Protected by Providence

After the departure of the wise men, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, warning him of Herod’s plan to destroy the young Jesus. The angel instructed Joseph to take Mary and the Child and flee to Egypt, demonstrating God’s protective care through practical guidance. Joseph responded with immediate obedience, leaving by night to ensure their safety. This act of faith and urgency highlights Joseph’s role as a protector and leader of his family. The family remained in Egypt until Herod’s death, showing that God’s timing orchestrated every detail of Jesus’ early life. This event also fulfilled the prophecy, “Out of Egypt I called My Son” (Hosea 11:1), linking Jesus to Israel’s history and affirming His role in God’s redemptive plan for humanity.
