Matthew 5:44-48 challenges believers to love radically loving enemies, blessing those who curse, and praying for those who persecute. This love, modeled by Jesus daily and on the cross, sets believers apart from the world. Loving only those who love us is ordinary, but loving those who hurt us reflects the perfection of our Heavenly Father, who shows grace to all, just and unjust alike. It’s not just words but actions that reveal our faith, making us the light and fruit that glorify God in a watching world.
