The Sweetest Lie Is the One That Leaves Your Sin Untouched

A false teacher isn't sent — he's self-appointed, peddling his own opinions as revelation and telling itching ears what they're dying to hear, and that's the tell: when the message always flatters and never confronts your sin, you're not hearing God's Word, you're hearing a man selling you yourself. That counterfeit goes down sweet because you were born carnal, and a gospel that lets you stay as you are will always taste better than one that demands repentance and refuses to leave you the same. The true gospel offends pride on purpose — Paul called the cross a stumbling block because it makes you die to yourself and obey Christ instead of crowning your own feelings king, so any "Christianity" that never asks you to lose your life isn't the one Jesus preached. And don't assume maturity makes you bulletproof: Peter aims this at people who had "actually escaped" the world's filth, because false teaching lures you with "great swelling words of emptiness," promising liberty while fitting you for chains — leaving you feeling free right up until you realize the latter end is worse than the beginning.
