And when they walked"},{"speaker":"David Barton","startTime":144.924,"endTime":148.628,"body":"out of the Senate, 13 of them"},{"speaker":"David Barton","startTime":148.687,"endTime":152.092,"body":"walked out, that broke the"},{"speaker":"David Barton","startTime":148.687,"endTime":152.092,"body":"quorum, which is the majority,"},{"speaker":"David Barton","startTime":152.152,"endTime":155.795,"body":"so they don't have a majority of"},{"speaker":"David Barton","startTime":152.152,"endTime":155.795,"body":"senators to meet. Because last"},{"speaker":"David Barton","startTime":177.359,"endTime":180.644,"body":"election, Oregon passed a"},{"speaker":"David Barton","startTime":177.359,"endTime":180.644,"body":"constitutional amendment that"},{"speaker":"David Barton","startTime":180.704,"endTime":184.467,"body":"said, if any legislator has 10"},{"speaker":"David Barton","startTime":180.704,"endTime":184.467,"body":"days of unexcused absences, then"},{"speaker":"David Barton","startTime":184.527,"endTime":187.872,"body":"there's economic penalties as"},{"speaker":"David Barton","startTime":184.527,"endTime":187.872,"body":"well as they can't run for"},{"speaker":"David Barton","startTime":187.931,"endTime":191.695,"body":"office again. So when these guys"},{"speaker":"David Barton","startTime":187.931,"endTime":191.695,"body":"walked out back, first week of"},{"speaker":"David Barton","startTime":191.754,"endTime":195.278,"body":"May, which you know, now we're"},{"speaker":"David Barton","startTime":191.754,"endTime":195.278,"body":"four or five, six weeks into"},{"speaker":"David Barton","startTime":195.338,"endTime":198.385,"body":"this, they gave up their"},{"speaker":"David Barton","startTime":195.338,"endTime":198.385,"body":"careers, essentially. They"},{"speaker":"David Barton","startTime":198.444,"endTime":201.67,"body":"walked off, they lost the money"},{"speaker":"David Barton","startTime":198.444,"endTime":201.67,"body":"that goes with being a"},{"speaker":"David Barton","startTime":201.73,"endTime":205.015,"body":"legislator, all that because"},{"speaker":"David Barton","startTime":201.73,"endTime":205.015,"body":"this was... they just were"},{"speaker":"David Barton","startTime":205.075,"endTime":208.539,"body":"willing to stand for this issue."},{"speaker":"David Barton","startTime":205.075,"endTime":208.539,"body":"They've now returned, and"},{"speaker":"David Barton","startTime":208.599,"endTime":212.242,"body":"they're back. And that's because"},{"speaker":"David Barton","startTime":208.599,"endTime":212.242,"body":"the Democrats have agreed to"},{"speaker":"David Barton","startTime":212.302,"endTime":215.826,"body":"drop several the really radical"},{"speaker":"David Barton","startTime":212.302,"endTime":215.826,"body":"provisions, while Oregon is"},{"speaker":"David Barton","startTime":215.886,"endTime":219.291,"body":"still pro abortion, they're"},{"speaker":"David Barton","startTime":215.886,"endTime":219.291,"body":"dropping the provision of the"},{"speaker":"David Barton","startTime":219.35,"endTime":222.815,"body":"bill that would remove the"},{"speaker":"David Barton","startTime":219.35,"endTime":222.815,"body":"parental rights. And so now, if"},{"speaker":"David Barton","startTime":222.875,"endTime":226.1,"body":"a child 15, or under wants an"},{"speaker":"David Barton","startTime":222.875,"endTime":226.1,"body":"abortion, or transgender"},{"speaker":"David Barton","startTime":226.16,"endTime":229.565,"body":"treatment, or anything about"},{"speaker":"David Barton","startTime":226.16,"endTime":229.565,"body":"hormone therapy, or anything"},{"speaker":"David Barton","startTime":229.624,"endTime":233.149,"body":"else, they have to let the"},{"speaker":"David Barton","startTime":229.624,"endTime":233.149,"body":"parents know, which is... that's"},{"speaker":"David Barton","startTime":233.208,"endTime":236.852,"body":"what they were after. So that's another"},{"speaker":"David Barton","startTime":261.581,"endTime":265.105,"body":"really bad measure. So kudos to"},{"speaker":"David Barton","startTime":265.165,"endTime":268.809,"body":"these Republicans. And they said, well, it was"},{"speaker":"David Barton","startTime":272.333,"endTime":275.977,"body":"not really clear whether the"},{"speaker":"David Barton","startTime":276.036,"endTime":279.799,"body":"constitutional amendment was to"},{"speaker":"David Barton","startTime":276.036,"endTime":279.799,"body":"go into effect this election or"},{"speaker":"David Barton","startTime":279.859,"endTime":283.383,"body":"the next election. And that"},{"speaker":"David Barton","startTime":279.859,"endTime":283.383,"body":"still has yet to be determined."},{"speaker":"David Barton","startTime":283.443,"endTime":287.266,"body":"So I guess there's a possibility"},{"speaker":"David Barton","startTime":283.443,"endTime":287.266,"body":"these guys might come back next"},{"speaker":"David Barton","startTime":287.326,"endTime":290.73,"body":"time.
