A Deep Conversation on Humility
Speaker 1She's back . Guess what , guys ? I have got a treat for you Today . I've brought back Dani Kaye onto the episode . I think this is maybe her third time with us . Love her or hate her , here she is , and I think you love her because every time she's on the podcast , the analytics are off the charts . Maybe you love us together . Anyways , the treat is that this is actually a two-part episode because it was really just a conversation she and I had . We were actually friends in real life and we were just chatting one day , and so we just hit record and it ended up being like an hour and 20 minutes when I put this whole thing together . So I've broken it up into two parts . You can listen to part one now and , if you're excited , you can go ahead and listen to part two , which should be coming out , like you know , back to back . Yeah , so let's just run the intro .

We bind any influence that would seek to tamper with what you're doing not trying to do , but what you're doing . We just lose that . Jeremiah 29 , 11 purpose for this podcast . Your purpose and plans are good . They're not of evil . They're good to bring unexpected and to prosper many who will hear this message , lord , and we just believe on your word and we just thank you . We ask you , lord Jesus , to pour your oil out over each of us . Anoint our mouths to speak . Anoint our tongue , lord , to speak what is true and what is good and what is acceptable in your sight . Lord , that's my prayer In the matchless name of Jesus .
Speaker 2Amen , lord , and I also ask that you would think through our thoughts and speak through our mouths , lord , god , that your purpose and your plan would be fulfilled in this podcast , that you would have your way , that you would speak to the hearts and minds of those people who are listening and , lord , that you would demolish strongholds and demolish lies that people have believed in the name of Jesus , holy Spirit , have your way . I ask that you soften the hearts of those listening , and even soften my heart and Jameis' heart too . Lord , whatever you want to do , we're open and we say let your will be done in .
Speaker 1Jesus' name , as you were praying , what the Lord was . He was showing me that sometimes we approach him and the things of God with a belief that we know this already or we know it already when he wants to take us just that much deeper . You know , and I think that sometimes this has been a prayer point of mine , lord , show me if there's pride operating line . Lord , show me if there's pride operating . There's a difference in knowing the word of god and being able to stand on it , and we better be able to stand and these days and times that we're living in , right like you , better know what the bible says , because people out there preaching all these other kind of different kinds of jesus , come on , you better know for yourself , but yeah , for real there's like a difference in knowing the word for yourself in order to stand and deviate from that and it become like a pride issue .
Speaker 2Oh , I know this already but he's trying to show you more amen , and it can be pride and ego , and I just recently heard someone say that ego stands for etching God out .
Speaker 1That's good .
Speaker 2Etching God out . When we let our ego get in the way of learning new things , when we let our ego get in the way of receiving revelation from God , we are etching God out . We're saying , nope , I know what I need to know and I don't need revelation from God . Come on . That's so good .
Speaker 1It just makes me wonder the Lord , you know , am I operating in any of that ? And I'm so . Lord , reveal it , let's heal it . That kind of thing , you know . It just makes me wonder how many people are operating out of their ego towards the things of God and their understanding of him , and they don't even realize it .
Speaker 2And pride can be really sneaky , like you can think , oh , I don't have any pride , I'm good , but pride will sneak up on you in the most interesting ways , like . A really good example of that is like when you're speaking to someone and they're talking or they're sharing something with you and you cut them off and interrupt them . That can sometimes be pride , because you're saying what you're saying , I already know what you're saying , I don't want to hear it again and that's prideful . And I mean , there's so many like I could sit here and share . You know , time after time after time , that pride will just try to slip in there , but it's sneaky . So we always got to be on guard to not let that in , because it can come in ways that we don't even think oh , that's not pride , but it is yeah , I mean , look at peter , right , yep , you know he .
Speaker 1he walked with jesus , saw him in the flesh , touched him , ate with him , and still thought that he knew more than jesus at certain points . Right , yeah , come on right , I don't know . There there's just a humbling that the Lord has been leading Me and I guess in terms of self-reflection , you know , I don't know , that's just what it's kind of knocking around in my brain .
Speaker 2I can relate . I can relate . I mean he's . He's definitely doing that in in my life too , and he's helping me to be sure that you know there's no inroad for the enemy , whether it's things that I've believed , or it's things that I've said , or things that I've even watched or like allowed in . You know , because our eyes are the window to our soul . So like we also have to be careful . What we're letting into our eyes , what we're watching our ears , what we're listening to , like those are all entry points for for the enemy . And so , like he's been helping me to be very firm about what I do and don't let in to my spirit , and that has been huge , because I think it's really easy to overlook things that we think are small , like a secular song . You know , listening to a secular song to some people might seem like a small thing , but to me , you know , that's giving place to the enemy , because you never know what's behind something .
Speaker 1You know yeah , he has been , uh , revealing a lot of that to me . So when I I don't , I still struggle with how to tell my story . I was baptized as a young girl . I was like 12 or 11 , but then I had like a jesus moment around 2020 .
Speaker 1I've been asking people lately like what was your pandemic story , if it seems like a lot of people had an encounter with the Lord during the pandemic . So for me during that time , the Lord literally came into my living room and my life ain't never been the same , and what he started showing me was he started showing me like I have joked that if other people get Jesus by walking through the front door in the church , the Lord had to take me in some other way . Because what he started showing me was I had a lot of questions about why is there so much evil in this world , why is there like all the murdering , all this crazy stuff , all this like why I was desperately seeking him and he showed me . He began to reveal to me all this kind of weird stuff happening in politics , all this kind of weird stuff happening behind closed doors with record labels companies . He began to show me this kind of stuff , things that other people like .
Speaker 1They call it conspiracy theory . But guess what ? It's not a conspiracy , it's true . Like you know what I'm saying . He began revealing to me , like we don't always know what is happening behind the scenes , but the Lord sees everything . His eyes are His eyes , see everything . And it's our job to just trust Him . And I think that's why it's so important to really cultivate a true relationship with Him by His Holy Spirit , because he will lead us , he will tell you things , he will reveal to you .
Speaker 1And he doesn't always tell us why . You know , if he tells us why , well that's great , but he is like he's not required to tell you why . If he says , you don't need to listen to that . Yes , Lord , Okay Lord , I will obey you and it's our job to trust him . And you know what I'm saying ? I don't know . I've got lots of examples of things like that .
Speaker 2So you shared . When you said his eyes , it reminded me of the scripture , for the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth to show himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is perfect towards him . And the rest of it is wherein thou has done foolishly . Therefore , from thou shalt have war . So that's second chronicles 16 9 . When you said his eyes are going , I that just reminded me of that scripture .
Speaker 1I had to look it up . Oh yes , and it's true , it's truth , it's true , it's truth , it's truth , it's all right there in the Bible . It is , it's all right there . I'm like everything we need to know for life is in there .
Speaker 2I mean , come on the words in the Bible for our entire life and never go wrong as long as our eyes were fixed on Jesus
The Path to Spiritual Discernment
Speaker 2. And I think that that scripture is so beautiful when you break it down and you think , wow , you know God , the literal creator of the entire universe , the one who knit me together in my mother's womb , the one who planned out my whole life from before I was even a thought , the one who planned out my whole life from before I was even a thought . He is looking and searching to show himself strongly in those whose hearts are perfect towards him . That is just amazing to me . That is amazing to me that he would . He would search for heart , for upright hearts . Yeah , and those are the willing and obedient vessels that God desires to use .
Speaker 2And then you have , you know , I mean , you have people who love Jesus and love the Lord and want to serve him with all their heart . And then you know , you have people , on the other hand , who say that they love Jesus , who say that they want to serve him , but they're dabbling in all of these different things , these doctrines of really doctrines of demons , and dabbling in practices that I can't find anywhere in the Bible , dabbling in things that they're just they're not of God , and when I think of that like that hurts my heart . I can't imagine what it does to God's heart . You know to know that there are people who proclaim him with their mouth but their hearts are very , very , very far from him , and that's not to like bash people who are stuck in , you know , riding the fence or not really knowing what is what that's like . To bring truth and revelation to the fact that not everything that seems like it's of God is of God .
Speaker 1That is so true , that statement right there . There's so much power in that , because the reality is there are things that do seem like they are of god , and even that is in the scriptures . It says that satan himself , the devil , roams around like an angel of light . That means roams around like an angel of light .
Speaker 2That means he looks like an angel of light , and if you don't have the spiritual eyes to discern .
Speaker 1If you don't have the Holy Spirit and all of his gifts and one of the things that he blesses us with is the gift of the discerning of spirits , the gift of discerning of spirits if you don't have the Holy Spirit in you and I'll add to that a obedient , upright heart that will obey what the Holy Spirit's telling you , because he's always talking to us he will say that's not what it looks like . Don't read that book .
Speaker 2Don't take that gift .
Speaker 1You know , I think a lot of people do have the ability to , like you know , move in the discerning of spirits and then they sort of write it off or ignore it . For the longest time I didn't know any of this was of the kingdom of God , like , like , honestly , for me , like I grew up in church and then I didn't get any answers there , it was very religious and um , so I left , like the new age scooped me up , uh , you know , like Satan's plan , and so I started to think that , oh well , I'm a empath or I'm um , intuitive , or all this kind of language . You know , it's like the language , all this kind of language that sounds really nice , it sounds very beautiful , but when you go back to the word of god it's not there , and the reality is that the only power we need is the , is the holy ghost power , like the power of god is so much more real than anything that these things that appear godly are . You know what I'm saying ?
Speaker 2oh yeah , and the thing is too , is , you know , when god does speak to someone who's dabbling in different kinds of things , um , when god speaks to that person , whether he speaks to their spirit , or he sends someone to speak to them , or he speaks to them through the word of God , or however he speaks to someone , you know that person that he's speaking to has to be willing to humble themselves and recognize when God is speaking and correct whatever it is . You know whether they're dabbling or whether they're very , you know , obviously , doing're dabbling or whether they're , um , very , you know , obviously doing something that's against the word of God . Uh , you know , those are times when you have to be willing to be like oh , you know what I ? I can clearly see that God is trying to speak to me through his word , or I can see that he's trying to speak to me through my friend who just told me that you know , this thing that I'm dabbling in , I need to be careful with it because it's not of God Like that .
Speaker 2Those moments are where you have to humble yourself because you know sometimes what you want to hear and what someone says are very different , and you know that is the love of god to correct someone when you see them being led astray or you see them practicing something that's not of god . To say to them , hey , that's not right is actually the most loving thing that you could possibly do . Because if that person continues down the path of being led astray , by whatever doctrine they're following or whatever you know mixture they're participating in , the Bible says that when you bring a person back from being led astray , you're saving that person's life . You're saving that person's soul and man . It's just , it's necessary , it's necessary and you know , like I said , not everyone wants to hear that .
Speaker 2Not everyone's going to humble themselves when you correct them or even gently warn them . But then they'll get so far down a path I'll turn around and go
Embracing Humility and Seeking Wisdom
Speaker 2wait a minute . Maybe I should have actually listened to that Cause . Now I see how this is not doing me any justice or this is not bringing any fruit to my life . Now I understand and you know God has a , has a plan to redeem anyone who is led astray . But you know it goes back to humbling yourself , because God can speak to you , he can send you signs , he can send you people to speak to you , but if you're not humble enough to recognize it and receive it , then you're going to keep pushing it away , pushing it away , pushing it away , until God you , you actually dull his voice in your life because you're not listening .
Speaker 1Yeah , that's so true , and you're reminding me of something the Lord told me when I was first coming to know him through his word . He told me to just ask him . He told me to just ask him like this why would he say that ? So I would read things , um , so me , I was someone coming from a very new age background , and so I would get to the part that talks about divination and all this kind of stuff going on , and I would just ask , with a very humble heart , why would he say that ? Or you know , some people who have are really very , um , anti-christ , anti-god about things like , okay , well , the what the scriptures say about homosexuality . He told me to just ask him why would , why would this very good god say that ? Why would he say that we can't ? And just approach it that way , with humility ? And then , with that humble heart , he began to reveal to me the answers .
Speaker 1He says that if we ask , he'll give us the wisdom . You know , but you're right that if we avoid him , if we allow our ears to get dull to him , him , if we allow our hearts to get very stony , it can be hard to to receive the wisdom . It doesn't mean that he's not , it's not his will for you to turn . He wants every one of the ones like like , we are made in His image , and I think about that . We are made in His image , amen . He created us and it's not His will for any of us to perish , and so he wants to redeem that . There's a plan to redeem that . But , like you were saying , you know , we just got to keep our hearts soft . We got to keep our spirit so humble . You know , we just got to keep our hearts soft . We got to keep our spirit so humble , you know .
Speaker 2And , too , if you continue to ignore the leading of the Holy Spirit or ignore the voice of God , your heart becomes callous , and the Bible says that you'll be turned over to a reprobate mind . And if you look into the meaning of reprobate , it actually talks about a worthless mind . You'll be turned over to a worthless mind , and I don't know about you , but I don't want a worthless mind Like our mind is . We have the mind of Christ , and so for him to say that he will turn us over to a reprobate mind is alarming Like it is . It's extremely alarming , and you know , I think that's something that as Christians , as you know , born again , followers of Jesus Christ , we should guard against anything that would cause us to become calloused or , you know , just hard-hearted .
Speaker 1Yeah , I mean that takes me back to how we started this conversation . It's just like a humility coming to him . Lord , is there anything in me ? Am I believing anything ?
Speaker 1Right now , that is not of you , because that's the thing about deception the deceived don't know that they're being deceived , that otherwise they wouldn't be walking in a deception . When you're deceived , thinking that evil is good , right , come on . When you're deceived , you wouldn't be in that place if you understood that you were walking in deception . And that's why we must humble ourselves and understand that , with all the wisdom and knowledge that we have , it is the lord who gives wisdom . It is the Lord who has made me wise , and so I don't want to be wise in my own eyes . I want to you know what I'm saying . I want the wisdom of God , and you have to approach everything like that .
Speaker 1I feel like the longer I walk with the Lord , the more I it's like the longer I walk with him , the more that I learn about him , the more times I go through the Bible . I don't know how else to describe it , but it's like the longer I walk with him , the more that I learn about him , the more times I go through the Bible . I don't know how to describe it , but it's like the lower I get , you know , like Amen , I think that the world , like it , seems backwards to the world . It would seem like , ok , the more time in that you get , you should be . You should be like so super mature . And it's not that I'm not mature , you should be like so super mature . And it's not that I'm not mature , it's just that the more I learn about god , the more I understand how much I need him , how much I still need to know about him . You know , and yeah , we can't just walk around like we , we know it all .
Speaker 1you know , like what I know , I know by the spirit of God , and that's enough amen , amen .
Speaker 2Well , I mean , think about , like you said you asked me to buy one more like it's , it's opposite we're . Like , we're getting lower , it's opposite of what other . You know what people would think . And I , just when you said that , it reminded me of like in the world's eyes , like we should be elevating , like that's the word that the world would use is elevating . And I see it the same way as you , like the the more I know about God , the more of the word of God that I know I get lower . And you know , bowing down and getting low is actually a sign of honor and respect , and so when we get low , then God can be lifted high , and actually it's .
Speaker 2John 3.30 says he must increase , but I must decrease . Well , decreasing is getting low , right ? So I mean , I don't know , like I want to be low , I want to be honoring the King of Kings . And if we feel that way , then think about , you know , the angels who are in the throne room of God , who are bowing down and casting their crowns before before Jesus . Like even the angels know that bowing down is honoring the king of kings , and so it's such a heavenly perspective to think of it that way , but it's necessary because then it takes us out of the driver's seat . Really , it takes us out of the , the one who is trying to do everything , and it's saying you know what , god , I trust you and I want to honor you , however that looks , however I can . And you know , like you were saying wisdom , like I know that I would not have wisdom if it was not for God . I know that that's a gift from God .
Speaker 1And .
Speaker 2I would never in a million years try to say that the wisdom I have originated from me , because I know it didn't . I could study every book in the world , I could be in school for the rest of my life and I would never have the wisdom that I have now , unless by the spirit of God and so man . It's just . It's such a revelation to know that what we have , you know , what we have been given , has come from him .
Speaker 1Yes , so good , so true , and it's reminding me of this whole conversation . Really . It's just reminding me of the fear of the lord , which is its own subject , right , I think that we could like talk about that for hours and hours and the rest of our lives really , but things in the proverbs it says , um , the fear of the lord is the beginning of wisdom , and it's like I love that because you have to . In order to hold this wisdom that he's giving us , we got to fear him . Not fear in the worldly sense of I'm afraid of God , but revere him . I'm in awe of him . I know that he's God and I'm not . I know that he created all this .
Speaker 1I didn't , I didn't do this , I didn't manifest any of this . Okay , I know that . I know that he's the one who ascended . I read it in the scriptures he's the one who ascended and he our spirit . Yes , he did see this in heavenly places , but the reality is we're walking around here on earth , we , we get to pray down from heaven . I do believe that , right , but I know that god is god , jesus is lord , he's the king , he's the king , and that kind of heart posture . It really changes everything . It really helps me . I'll just talk about myself . It helps me to take off the lies and the deceptions and some of the things that this world is preaching . I don't have to move like that . I don't have to go think I'm going to manifest . I don't got to sit in of these very works-based things that seem like they give power .
Speaker 1They seem like they are godly , but they're not .
Speaker 2It's you know you mentioned something . So , janice , I know that you said you came out of New Age , so you dabbled with New Age . You're familiar with , you know that world , um , and I am , I'm fairly familiar with it . I was around a lot of people who were participating in that and I was participating in it some myself , and so I think one of the you actually mentioned manifest , okay , and I think that that's something I want to talk about , because I think that in the church world there's a lot of believers , there's a lot of born again Christians that dabble in new age without realizing that they're dabbling in new age . And I think you know that's the purpose of deception , right , for the enemy to deceive is for you to not know that you're being deceived , right , and so that's something I really want to talk about , because I think that there's a lot of scriptures that are taken out of context and that cause people to dabble with these things with the mindset that they're actually practicing the scriptures . But they're not . They're actually twisting the scriptures and practicing deception
Demonic Doctrine of Manifestation
Speaker 2.
Speaker 2And you mentioned manifest , and I want to talk about that because the scripture , I think that is commonly twisted a little bit is to declare a thing and it'll be established right . Well , we know that when we declare something with our mouth , mouth God will move heaven and earth by our prayers . Right , that scripture is meant to point to prayer and the power of agreement in prayer , and I think sometimes people take that scripture and they think that they can manifest things with their words in it . I really do believe that . You know , people think that they're practicing that the right way , but they take it just a tiny bit too far .
Speaker 2To where then it becomes new agey and and let me let me explain it like this so you have people on one side who are saying I declare and decree that you're going to be free from addiction , you're going to be free , you're going to be healed with cancer . I declare you're going to be free from this , free from that , and you're praying and you're declaring over someone health and you know prosperity and good things , good godly things . But then , on the other hand , there are people who take that and they begin to twist it for their selfish gain . And the reason I say that is because you'll have people who say oh , I'm manifesting a new house . I'm manifesting a house that's paid for , like someone's giving me a house . I'm manifesting healing in my body , I , but do you hear , I , I , I , I that that is pride , and what made the devil fall ? Come on pride . So I think that you know it can very easily cross over to a practice that is , I'm just gonna say it , it's demonic yeah , um , yeah , say it like it is .
Speaker 2It really is . It's demonic because you are not the author of your life . God is the author and finisher of your faith and of your life , and so when you try to manifest things into your life , you become God in your life , and that is idolatry , that is demonic , that is prideful , it's evil . And so I mean I've even heard it hurts my heart to just say this God . I have heard leaders , I have heard very gifted men and women of God talk about manifesting prosperity , manifesting health , manifesting marriage , manifesting marriage , manifesting children , manifesting I mean the list goes on and on and on and on .
Speaker 2But I have heard people , men of god , many women of god , talk about manifestation and like calling you know , oh . And then another scripture that people twist is calling those things which be not as though they are . And people try to back up manifestation with that scripture . And again it's taking it out of context , because you absolutely can call your body healed when it's not healed . You can call someone free from drugs . When they're not free from drugs , you can do those things . That's calling those things which be not as though they are . It's an act of faith .
Speaker 2But when you take it from an act of faith and you switch it over to I am manifesting a healthy report , I'm manifesting $10,000 in my bank account , I'm manifesting my husband to come and find me , like again , you become God , you become the author . Because here's the thing when you get that thing that you're manifesting , where does the glory come from ? Do you give yourself glory or do you give God glory Because you did the work right , you did all the manifesting , you brought it in right . No , god is the one god and yeah , oh , I .
Speaker 2I could just go on and on , but I'm gonna leave it at that because I think that manifestation and you know , uh , calling things into your life is a very dangerous demonic doctrine and it's taken out of the context of scripture and it's dangerous and I just I want to leave it at that . But you know , there's even people who consider that like manifestation , a spiritual awakening , and even that is uh dangerously demonic it is .
Speaker 1It's a doctrine of devils , it's a doctrine of demons and , yeah , um , I just don't think that the body of christ talks about it enough . Obviously , we want to talk about the doctrine of jesus christ , right , but he also told us don't be ignorant , okay , and I think about the early church , I mean , they talked about this kind of stuff a lot , because there was all kind of paganism going on . They talked about this kind of stuff . They talked about how deceivers would come , and they talked about that . They talked about this , and yet , yet here we are , 2024 .
Speaker 1You choose to stand on Bible , like Jesus told us to do , but they condemn you for that . You know what I'm saying , and it's really not about bringing division . It is about casting out the lies and the devil , though . Casting out the lies and the devil , though , and you know , on what you said , to be clear , it's like the only man , like manifestation . That word has been hijacked . Yeah , the Holy spirit that that word has been hijacked . I agree that this word did originate with the Lord . The Holy spirit has his manifestations of power and glory , but they're his manifestations of power and glory . The Lord is the one who gets the glory for these things . I loved how you explained that , because that's the difference , and it is so sneaky and subtle that unless you pause , you would miss it completely . I can see how believers are falling for this mess .
Speaker 1You know , I can see when you are not in your word and you're not allowing the word of God to be the standard , when you're instead allowing what feels good , you're allowing culture , you're allowing all these other things to speak with a louder voice than what the word of god said . The word of god is how he chose to reveal himself to us . First and foremost . I was reading something today about how somebody posted about how there's believers out there who are saying we don't need to rely on the word , because jesus is the word and he lives in me that is a doctrine of demons , that right there .
Speaker 1You know it's like it's so subtle . It's so subtle , but we are living in times where we have to pay attention to this kind of stuff and I want to tell anybody listening like don't take our word for it no , you know no go to the lord yourself . You know what I'm saying .
Speaker 1Go to the word go to the word , go to the word . Jesus christ is the word . We pick it up . Read what the word says , see what he has to say about this stuff , and and let the holy spirit begin to teach you , because that's his job . Well , that's a wrap for part one of this episode .
