Hi, I'm Keani Hollingsworth, mentor, life coach, and podcast motivational speaker. And I want to welcome you to Becoming My Best Me. In today's session, we want to discuss the importance of getting back up. So you know what to do. Join the conversation and let's talk. Welcome back, everyone. First off, as always, I want to give a huge thanks to all my listeners that join me each session as we discuss new topics on how we can become our best selves. Y'all know I appreciate the continued support, so keep on coming back. Also, don't forget to send me a shout-out via text on the Apple Podcasts and iHeart platforms if you're listening there. Or you can send me a direct email at becoming mybestme one at gmail.com. Again, that email address is becoming mybestme number one at gmail.com. So today I want to talk about something simple but powerful. The importance of getting back up. Because life has a way of knocking us down. Sometimes it's failure, sometimes it's disappointment, sometimes it's rejection, burnout, loss, or just feeling like no matter how hard we try, things aren't moving forward. And in those moments, it's easy to believe the story that says, Maybe I'm not cut out for this, or maybe I should just stop trying. But the truth is, falling down is not the end of the story. What defines us is what we do next. Do we stay down or do we get back up? Every successful person you admire has something in common. They've all fallen, they've all failed, they've all faced moments where quitting would have been easier. The difference is not that they never struggle, the difference is that they kept getting back up. Let's stop for a second and discuss four important reasons why you should get back up. Number one, getting back up builds resilience. Every challenge you overcome strengthens your ability to handle the next one. Resilience isn't something you've born you're born with. It's something you develop each time you choose to keep going despite setbacks. Number two, getting back up creates growth. Failure often teaches us lessons that success cannot. When we get back up, we take those lessons, make adjustments, and become wiser, stronger, and more prepared for future opportunities. Number three, getting back up builds confidence. Confidence doesn't come from never failing. Confidence comes from knowing that even when things don't go as planned, you can recover, adapt, and keep moving forward. Every time you get back up, you prove to yourself that you're capable. Number four, getting back up keeps you moving towards your goals. Success is rarely a straight line. There will be detours, setbacks, and obstacles along the way. The people who reach their goals aren't always the most talented. They're often the most, or shall I say, they're often the ones who refuse to quit when things get difficult. You know, getting back up doesn't always look dramatic. Sometimes it looks like opening your laptop again after a failed attempt. Sometimes it looks like studying for just 15 more minutes when you feel exhausted. Sometimes it looks like sending one more application, making one more phone call, or trying one more time after disappointment. It's not always loud, but it's powerful. And here's something important to remember. Um, falling doesn't make you weak. Okay. Let me repeat that again. Falling or failing, shall I say, doesn't make you weak. Um failing, falling, same thing. Um, that doesn't make you weak. Staying down is what drains you, staying down is what keeps you stuck. But getting back up, even slowly, even imperfectly, that's where growth begins again. You don't have to have everything figured out to move forward. You don't have to feel 100% ready. You don't need perfect conditions or perfection. You just need the willingness to try again. And sometimes that's the hardest part because getting back up requires resilience. It requires belief in yourself on days when you don't feel confident. It requires showing up when motivation is gone and discipline is all you have left. But every time you get back up, you build something stronger inside of you: confidence, grit, and proof that you are capable of more than what you tried, what tried to stop you in the first place. So, if you're in a season where you feel like you're falling short or things didn't go the way you planned, this is your reminder. You are not done. This moment is not the end of your story. Take a breath, reset, learn what you can and get back up again. Because progress doesn't come from never falling, it comes from refusing to stay down. And one day you'll look back and realize the moments that almost broke you were actually the moments that built you. So today, whatever you're facing, whatever knocked you down, get back up. Try again and keep going. Your future is still waiting for you. As always, I have a quote to sum all this up. You don't lose when you fall, you lose when you refuse to get back up. Author unknown. Clear and simple. Well, that's all I have. Join me next time as we discuss another topic on how we can become our best selves. Ciao, I'm gonna do that.
