In the early hours of the 14th February 2013, world record holding athlete Oscar Pistorius phoned emergency services to report that he had fatally shot his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp. Steenkamp, a 29 year old paralegal, model and TV presenter had allegedly been mistaken for an intruder within the bathroom of Oscar's own home.
