E35 - Building, Growing, and Selling My Sports Business (Kyle Mumma)
Kyle Mumma (Class of 2018) never thought about starting a company during his MBA. But in Year 2, he started a project to support career outcomes for student-athletes, like the ones he'd worked with on Duke's basketball and football teams. He turned down a high-paying consulting job to become a full-time founder, scaling the business (NextPlay) and selling it after only four and a half years. In this episode, Kyle shares what he's picked up along the way - working with Coach K, learning as a first-time founder, and taking risks to pursue your passion.
