18 praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints, 19 and also for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains, that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak.
Good morning, and thank you for beginning your day with us. Well, today's Monday after high school camp, and we just got back from an amazing week of seeing God work mightily in the lives of students. We spent the entire week in the book of Ephesians learning that kingdom workers are loved, that they are rescued, that they are changed, and that they are sent. And it's that last piece, sent that I think really stuck with me this week. You see, all of us are called to go and share the gospel. But at the end of the week, our speaker was teaching us all about the armor of God. And I'm going to read to you at the end of Ephesians chapter 6. After Paul goes through talking about all the armor of God, he says this, starting at the end of verse 18. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints, and also for me, that words may be given to me and opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains, that I may declare it boldly as I ought to speak. I was so encouraged that at camp this year, and during one of the sessions, they asked students to stand up if they would be willing to commit to sharing the gospel within the next 45 days, which would have makes that day August 1st. There were so many students that stood up to do it, including just about every student in our group that went, that they are going and making the commitment to boldly proclaim the gospel. On our way back, I don't know if you heard about it or not, but one of our buses got a flat tire, and we got stuck at a wadaburger in Sweetwater, Texas for about four hours. I don't know if you know this, but students start to go stir crazy after a while. But I had a lot of students come up and ask me if they could go to the Starbucks next door or to the Walmart right across the parking lot, and I gave them two stipulations. Number one, you have to take a leader, and number two, you have to find someone to share the gospel with. I was so encouraged by how many students came back to tell me stories of people that they prayed with, people that they shared the gospel with, the conversations that they had. Church, right there, we're seeing this next generation boldly embrace and boldly proclaim the mystery of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I hope that that's encouraging to you, and I hope that that's inspiring to you, knowing that this younger generation is doing it, but it's not just for the younger generation. Boldly proclaiming the mystery of the gospel is for every single one of us. And so I wonder if you might commit alongside them within the next 45 days to finding at least one person that you can share the gospel with. Well, that's all that I have for you this morning, and I hope that it was encouraging to you. May we strive to magnify Christ and share the gospel in our homes, in the Wimberley Valley, and beyond. Peace.
