A $250 million Greek epic lands, and we can’t resist picking it apart. We talk through Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey like fans who actually care about the story under the spectacle: why a three-hour runtime can feel necessary, where pacing complaints come from, and how the movie’s best moments work when they lean into Odysseus as a walking consequence machine. If you’re searching for an Odyssey movie review that goes beyond “cool monsters,” we keep coming back to the core theme of guilt and the price of getting home.
We dig into the specifics people argue about after the credits roll: the Cyclops sequence and what the movie changes from Homer, how the gods are framed and why Poseidon’s wrath matters, plus the craft stuff that can make or break immersion. We debate armor that sometimes looks too plastic, boats that feel out of era, Nolan’s love of practical effects, and action scenes that hit hard but can get muddy with shaky-cam. We even get petty about archery, because if you know, you know.
Then the conversation swerves into the wider movie world: Batman sequel delays, DC’s ongoing identity crisis, marketing spend and box office math, and why fandom noise isn’t the only reason a franchise struggles. From there we jump to MCU momentum, X-Men casting rumors, and what Marvel needs to do to make the next big saga feel earned. We close with a full-on Top 10 Villain Portrayals draft, stacking icons and deep cuts based on pure performance, presence, and the kind of evil you never forget.
If you had strong feelings about The Odyssey, DC, Marvel, or our villain picks, subscribe, share the episode with a friend, and leave a review so more people can find the show. What’s your number one villain performance of all time?

Hello all, welcome to the Night Falls Middle Podcast, the Odyssey review edition.
SPEAKER_04Hell yes, Trojan horse. Let's talk about it. What?
Welcome And First Reactions
SPEAKER_04I'm getting scared at.
SPEAKER_03Trojan man. Oh no. I feel like we're being sacrificed to the gods while you were saying all that. Just because it was you saying it. It's Nolan, man. He don't often miss anything. You really don't. My least favorite movie he did was Tenant. That's just because I didn't know what the fuck is going on. But hey, most everything he does is good. At least good. Good's like the bar for Nolan stuff. I remember when I used to freaking make fun of him. I'm like, no, I can't make fun of Nolan tomorrow.
SPEAKER_00Oh, this is too realistic. What the fuck?
SPEAKER_03And I've grown on Dark Knight movies, though. I've grown on those. But it's good. It's Nolan tackling the Greek epic. One of the best stories ever. I thought it was really well done. I thought it was too. I thought it was really well done. Long as hell, but that was I was I was gonna say, too. That was if you're going to portray an entire book. I was gonna say Odyssey, you're gonna have to do it. I disagree with actually one there's there's part of the problem, you're never gonna be able to do a good Odyssey to do it the justice that it deserves.
SPEAKER_00Not full justice, no. But he did damn well. There wasn't much.
SPEAKER_03One of the criticisms, yeah. One of the criticisms I heard was not even really a criticism, uh, nitpicks that uh it's very long, yeah, but it's it's it's a little slow at times. And I actually didn't see that that much for me personally. I was to me, slow don't necessarily mean no action or nothing going on, but you're kind of just not paying as much attention. But I was locked in pretty much the whole movie paying attention to what was going on, so I didn't see much slowness in there. I'll confirm it when I see it again. Oh, I'd say I'll confirm it when I see it again. I did not, I mean, there's times that are slower, but I'm still engaged in the story it's telling, so it's not necessarily slow. There's movies I've watched that you're kind of shit. This is kind of not even really a knock, but it's like sometimes if you watch like some of them directors cuts the Lord of the Rings or something like three and a half hour motherfuckers, you'd be just zoning for like 10 minutes and oh you're not walking with them. Okay, I'm back. What's going on now? Yeah. You'd rather travel by Eagles? People say that's bad. That's a three-hour movie, but I some of them fucking Lord of the Rings director's cuts for like three and a half, four hours.
SPEAKER_00So you weren't interested because it didn't have a dick dangling at your face.
SPEAKER_04What?
SPEAKER_03Director's cut jokes. Oh. I was gonna say watch, but yeah, I'm like, I don't remember no dick dangling in Lord of the Rings. Shit.
SPEAKER_04Like, my God.
SPEAKER_00So if a tree into her and ogre walk past the screen with their dick dangling, you will just there's only one dick they could have shown there, and it does a cyclouse.
SPEAKER_03They didn't show it. I was kind of like, are we gonna get a dick shot? It was kind of weird. It was close. There ain't no way we get a dick shot. Naked. Didn't get one. Oh side gloss in this one. It looks like a colossus. Different. I like the cock opera. Yeah, he's kind of all he in his nose. I'm trying to make it a little bit more obest than I really needed to. It's like, eh. Oh yeah. I get that. Completely like he was made of stone, which ironically looks like he's made of stone. Is that what they used for him?
SPEAKER_04I mean stone-looking material that just looks like he was puppet just looks like he was stone. Alright, alright, alright.
SPEAKER_03They handle all uh he really did all the
Does A Three-Hour Odyssey Work
SPEAKER_03big parts of the book, which I which I enjoyed. He didn't really leave out okay. In in the fucking Cyclops scene.
SPEAKER_00I for some reason must be remembering this wrong. Didn't they use sheep's wool to get out of there?
SPEAKER_03Which is what they were kind of joking about when they were leaving.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03That was one of the things. Yeah. They also conversated with him, which is the one thing they didn't do. They mentioned he could talk, but they didn't talk to him. They kind of skipped past that. They used it to emphasize the whole Poseidon's wrath. You killed my kid.
SPEAKER_04You don't hurt me. It was different. You hurt my kid.
SPEAKER_03Well, I don't care. I like that they put all the all the they connected everything nice with the God how they are and shit. I really liked that they did that. That was cool.
SPEAKER_00I love the inclusion of the 12 axes arrow thing. Yeah. You don't get that often.
SPEAKER_03It's out of the two most prominent ones. Yeah. The TV, the TV series that everybody clusterfies and this one. I chuckled with Zeus's law a little bit though. Honor of the house and all that. That's just so Zeus can Zeus?
SPEAKER_01You home home wrecking bastard?
SPEAKER_03Honor the house. Well, married women have me fucked. I mean Love it. It wasn't just women that he fucked. You fucked ever you fucked everything.
SPEAKER_04Yep. Everybody go after animals. Maybe not that far, but that's a beautiful creature right there. What was that? I have no clue what accent that was.
SPEAKER_03It probably wasn't anything. No, I'm like, what? That was okay. I heard one Chris. Do you still think the armor was cheapy? Yes. Yes, he still thinks the armor looked a little cheapy after some. I can kind of agree with you a little bit.
SPEAKER_02I can show you a picture of some armor.
SPEAKER_03It had metal to it. Others it it didn't even look like leather. It was like plastic. I can agree with Matt. Look, some of the armor, okay.
SPEAKER_04I saved a picture on Twitter for this long. Let me came on. He's literally taking the top. All the it was enough. The uh the all the armor budget went to Egg Amendment.
SPEAKER_03Only for him to die. By his white, by his white. Which is true. Yep. I don't oh I'm outside. One of my favorite simple ass scenes. They open a door. Just fucking standing there. Aura far. You may all run past me, but I will walk slowly in Aurafar my way in there. I I expected him to have this deep voice. You know, it's I thought he might not talk. Oh, here he's talking. He's talking in Underworld. He's talking. There he is. I'll read the tweet word for word.
SPEAKER_02Let's play a fun game. Can you guess which one are these suits of armor came from? A major summer blockbuster movie from a celebrated director with a $250 million budget in 2026 that is about historical armies with elaborate armor and gods and monsters. Or a filly, fairly cheesy sci-fi videasel movie from 2004.
SPEAKER_04Odyssey.
SPEAKER_00If you're gonna go that far, you might as well say Planet of the Apes from 2000.
SPEAKER_03I'm really surprised that that that made or break broke anything. I just wasn't like the armor looks a little cheap, but okay. It's not the giants armor.
SPEAKER_00That that metal, whatever the hell it was. They all looked the same. At least I think they were giants.
SPEAKER_03You didn't really get Lagorothans or whatever. Yeah. Lagorathons? Yeah, if I remember her name right. Yeah. I read it last night. That's the only reason why you know. I like when they was rocking the boats. Get them out of there. Okay, stab them.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Down to death and stab them. Oh, that's okay.
SPEAKER_03I'd have been so annoyed. We didn't even do nothing to you guys.
SPEAKER_04We were just asking.
SPEAKER_03Nope, nope, nope. They didn't.
SPEAKER_01We didn't even do nothing. And you're gonna come killing us.
SPEAKER_03You made my kid cry.
SPEAKER_01Oh no.
SPEAKER_03Lestergonians. Lestergonians. Lestergonians? The frickin'. I don't remember them much. For a tribe of man-eating giants. I have not read the book in forever. They were said to have sprung from Lestergon, son of Poseidon. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04So they were literally sick on him by Poseidon. You can make that reference. Get him. Get him.
SPEAKER_05Fucking everything in that thing. It was Poseidon's wrath. Scylla. Zeus will not let you die.
SPEAKER_03But your crew is not you. Poseidon, let him go. No. You pissed me off. Let him go.
SPEAKER_02So you so you're ready for the Achilles joke?
SPEAKER_03I had his name was said one time by Burnthal, I believe. Where was Achilles in that movie? It's supposed to be in there.
SPEAKER_02It's Achilles. So the the the original online discourse was Elliot Page playing Achilles, and everybody was upset about that.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02So then they announced they finally backed it off and said that it was he Elliot was playing Sinan. Yeah. Fine. Sinnan doesn't appear in the Odyssey by any means. Yeah. That's a different story entirely. Yeah. But the funny part is who does Odysseus talk to in Hell? In the story.
SPEAKER_04Isn't it an Achilles?
SPEAKER_03Isn't it A?
SPEAKER_02It's Achilles and Agamemnon. Who does he talk to in the movie? Sinon in Agamemnon. So by definition, technically L Page did play Achilles.
SPEAKER_00That is we've left we left out Achilles because we already had a Troy movie. Kind of.
SPEAKER_05You fucking bastard.
SPEAKER_03So if you watch Troy and then this movie, I was gonna make the joke. You've got a shot. Played by great Brad Pitt. I wanted to watch Bitty Pick. He could have made a cameo. I was joking. We know each other.
Cyclops Scene Choices And Changes
SPEAKER_01Where's Brad Pitt?
SPEAKER_03Well, I here's the thing. It's not often you get Brad Pitt and Matt in the same movie.
SPEAKER_02Well, I mean, Matt wasn't even the first choice for this movie. Like three people were turning it down. DiCaprio was number one of them. Top three.
SPEAKER_03Bro, did of course DiCaprio. Nolan. Come on. DiCaprio turned it down, and I heard somebody two other people turned it down.
SPEAKER_04Matt Damon. I'd do it. He did a good job.
SPEAKER_03He doesn't often portray po intelligent characters, so I bought what he had. Well about his guilt by that. What's a lot of the point of the Odyssey is exploring character study of Odysseus's guilt. That's a lot of the point of the story. That's what a lot of people miss out on.
SPEAKER_05Yeah. A lot of people don't actually view Greek tragedies as a tragedy. They don't learn from them the way they're talking about it.
SPEAKER_02Well, I wish half the actors actually had read the Odyssey or duo of the Odyssey before doing this movie. Sorry, Levita.
SPEAKER_03Like, I'm sorry. That no. That was a miscast. I'm sorry. Them playing sisters, fine. You can make the loose transition that they're twins. They aren't, at least based on what is recorded, they're not, but fine. Right. That wasn't the problem. Ironically, there's probably a little too much representation to justify certain things. And she weren't even in a movie that much. She was in a movie for all of five minutes. You had an Asian Greek. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04That's just a Han number.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I'm like. I was referring to a dynasty, but he jumped off the boat and went to the sirens. Yeah. Count at least two or three African American Greeks.
SPEAKER_05So that's actually one of the greatest parts about the Mediterranean.
SPEAKER_03It's just a hot pot of everybody.
SPEAKER_05That's one thing I got mine about this movie is that the representation was there because it could be.
SPEAKER_03You got Greece and shit up here in Italy. However, you got Turkey all here.
SPEAKER_00It's something Dean and I both agree on. Is that a woman you would go to war for?
SPEAKER_03No. I'm staying right at home.
SPEAKER_00Are you going to war for him?
SPEAKER_03I'm fucking puturing.
SPEAKER_02I don't know which one's technically true. Did Helen get taken back to Sparta?
SPEAKER_03That one I didn't know for. I believe she did. It's been a while since I actually because Troy did not do that. No. I didn't know if this one was correct. That's the problem. But Troy wasn't designed to be accurate either.
SPEAKER_01I didn't do my homework for this episode.
SPEAKER_03Well, that was some shit though. Dragging that horse.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Did you see one of the interviews about how uh for that scene they were actually in the horse when the tide came early? So I had John Bernthal and a horse with water splashing all over him, nearly drowning. So that scene was accurate as hell.
SPEAKER_04Very accurate.
SPEAKER_00Let's see. People drowning. And the fact that they didn't use wheels, they pulled that fucker all the way up to the temple with logs. That's how it was. Very ancient.
SPEAKER_03All performances were good across the board. Some people I I love Pattinson's character. Some people thought Pattinson was a little underwhelming. That was another minor critique.
SPEAKER_00So he started off doing great, but as soon as he started cowering behind everyone, then he lost me.
SPEAKER_03Well, he was also played a whiny bitch boy, kind of. Yeah. I'm still figuring out what Trappers Scott was stick with his roar. A face. That's the only line I remember. I can't remember what he said after that. A face. A face. A tail. A rhyme. Well, a lot from what I've gathered, a lot of people say the best performance in there was Anne Hathawela.
SPEAKER_02Amuse.
SPEAKER_04In Homer's Odyssey, she she is taken back. Too Sparta. Sparta!
SPEAKER_03Well, it's technically a two-parter because Troy, like the movie Troy, is based on the Iliad. The first book. Odyssey is the second book. They're technically twinsy books. I wouldn't bring the Iliad. I have the Iliad too. Same style as well. Why do I keep feeling there's a third? No, there's not. Iliad and the Odyssey. I could have played Iliad, or there are other Greek stories. Yeah. After. Yeah, that are associated. Yeah, but not Homer. No, Homer only has those two. There are a couple.
SPEAKER_04Whatever Sinon is in is technically a different one. Wrong reference. The new Virgil's ID. Virginia.
SPEAKER_03Virgil did a couple afterwards. No, no. There's a lot. There's a lot that could there's a lot that could be movies. There's a lot. Maybe Odyssey Odyssey will reinvigorate that, maybe. Because that kind of I hope so.
SPEAKER_00You know what should be reinvigorated? And I said this twice now. I want some westerns. Oh god.
SPEAKER_03I was talking more like mythology mythology. I'll take any mythology. Mythological tales, but kind of brain. Speak. You weren't the only one. I tried saying that no problem. No, because I just love amended and I love Clash of the Titans. I love most. Speaking of repetir. I'll even watch the old old Clash of Titans. Guy from Avatar, Sam Worthington. Yeah, Worlington. He's the one in Clash of Titans. The Nora one that they did.
SPEAKER_05Oh, the one that actually got sequels?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, Wrath of the Titans, which was not that great. I I like the original. There's then there's fucking metal owl from Athena. And there's countless fucking Hercules. It's kinda weird.
SPEAKER_00Every mythological movie we've had based on Greek mythology. It's always been with Athena, has it?
SPEAKER_04Yeah. We're probably due for more Hercules.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, that one's in the works, but it's a live-action Disney.
SPEAKER_04Oh.
SPEAKER_03With how good Moana's doing, they're gonna fucking re-think uh. He'll make them regardless.
SPEAKER_02We're not talking about movie, can I go into other movies?
SPEAKER_03No, no. This is a mini side. I'm I let's see. How about the boats? I like the boats. Boats look good. Even though they're fake, not the correct era or location. Your Norway boats. Norway boats.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, I kind of called that out when uh they said meet the river that meets ice and fire. Uh-huh. Which that instantly makes me think of Norway. Norway. And my damn ass every fucking time they said that the men from the sea kept thinking, oh, the Vikings are coming.
SPEAKER_04I mean.
SPEAKER_03Which I can't even think of the Greeks meeting the Vikings, but you know. I mean, one thing I will say, because I agreed a little bit with this. Whenever Nolan does like action scenes, it's yeah. That is the traditional. Yeah, I know that. Yeah. Yeah. That's that, yeah.
SPEAKER_05Nolan's always very I have to look it up after you've told me the first time.
SPEAKER_03Nolan's always very shaky cam with his action. Sometimes you can't fully tell what's going on because the fucking camera's doing all this shit.
SPEAKER_05It's on purpose.
SPEAKER_03And a lot of people have said Nolan should have someone else help him do action scenes. And I'm like, actually, they could be better. Not then. No one says Nolan's action scenes are bad. Just they could be better if someone studios were having issues with the sound. I don't think we really did. No, I didn't have issues with the sound. I like this one. Lindley Gordon's score was great. Some of it, some of it worked, some of it didn't for me for whatever reason.
SPEAKER_02What part? Well, sorry, Travis Scott. Both of the times he was around, beginning
Casting Debates And Representation
SPEAKER_02and the second time didn't really fit.
SPEAKER_03The ones where they were on the water sounded better. I don't know why. I liked whenever whenever he strung the bowl and it was great. Well, that was once he once he was doing that in the beginning, it's like that's gonna be the call. I knew that was the call back at the end when after we restrung the bolt for wife but now. I was like, but that that that that back fight scene was good, but also very hard to watch with a shaky cam. And it's like, God, Damon's moving awkwardly. Or it doesn't look lower, it looks like he's wearing 550 pounds of armor, but he can't. I can't really tell. My favorite one I couldn't make out was when he threw the guy into the fucking axe and his face went into it. I like that one. I'm like, I can't really tell what it is.
SPEAKER_04And I will say, I'm sorry, Damon's not an archer.
SPEAKER_03I watched several of those bow shots go.
SPEAKER_00That flew an inch. As someone who loves bows. Yeah, no, that that that part of the movie, every time a bow is struck, I counted at least every. No, every single one. Not a single one of them. But some of them flew at least a distance to make believable.
SPEAKER_03I counted at least three misfires that were still caught on camera. It was more than that. I'm saying I caught at least three. I knew there were at least three.
SPEAKER_05And that's a problem with having archery for archery is very hard to represent on screen correctly unless you have an actual at the close-up angle. Yes. The one thing that was amazing to me though, which is actually part of the story, is do you know how hard it is to fucking screen a bowl? Yes.
SPEAKER_00Especially well-made ones.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. The ironic part is like if a bow is attempted to be restrung that many times, eventually it snaps.
SPEAKER_02Yes. Especially the way he did it. Yes.
SPEAKER_00Like he tried to lose how many people down and then pulled it over and did it that way.
SPEAKER_05And then how many people tried it in between and bent the shit out of it. Yep. It should have broke before he even got there. Especially as to the Greek myth.
SPEAKER_00It has never been used till he picked it up again.
SPEAKER_03It hasn't been used in 17 years. Yes. Well, 20. Yeah, like that motherfucker gone like 20 plus years and shit. I'm going, I'm back. I'm back. And then I'm gonna take on a legion of fucking assholes. Now I'm leaving. My son will be king. Goodbye.
SPEAKER_00As for some fucking reason, this dude is just throwing weapons through a hole. Take these. Take these. Take these.
SPEAKER_01The swords. As I'm hiding behind a pillar. Oh, I sat there.
SPEAKER_03What are you doing? Take that shit. I'm a hype. I like how slowly everyone just started kneeling, like, I ain't fucking with dude, bro. He's too good. They were the ones that supposedly wanted to be loyal to him. That's how they showed me. And then we it's gotta be mentioned the pig. The pigs. Oh, you loved Cersei. You want him to do a fucking I think Nolan could do a very good horror movie if he wanted to.
SPEAKER_02Unfortunately as we already said, unfortunately, the only way that you do the Odyssey any kind of just was basically turning it into like an HBO show like they do with the Switzereg and Game of Thrones and all that stuff.
SPEAKER_03That's the only way you're gonna ever get a legit. Yeah. I still think Nolan. Yeah.
SPEAKER_05Called Atlantis that kind of took stories from everywhere in the Greek mythology.
SPEAKER_03He's landed in one with Jason as character. I mean, three hours is a long ass movie. I think Nola did pretty good for three hours. I think he he got all of the biggest stuff in there. But the Cyclops, the Giant Island, Scylla and Charybdis. Scyllica. Scylla? How do you think Scylla and Charybdis? Scylla. Scylla and Charybdis. I did not mind how it looked this time around. Scylla was just usually. But how would you feel getting an hour per island or incident? You did it as a shame. I think that'd be that'd be cool. I don't know if you could bleed an hour out of Scylla and Charybdis, though, but I get what you're saying. But out of that, you'd also get more of more of the sailing and talking in the mutiny at that point. I l I liked that. You can easily get an hour out of Cersei. That was a cool thing. Oh yeah. Easy peasy. God, the way she was in forming and motherfuckers into pigs. You can at least get a solid eight eight episode season out of the Odyssey. I liked how I like I liked how his Athena had the form of that girly watch, get her head fucking chopped off in Troy. I thought that was cool. I couldn't tell if that was just symbolism. I think as they say the gods take forms.
SPEAKER_00Them chopping off the head of the girl as the last person he saw die. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03As the largest person he saw in the presence of Athena.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. I I couldn't really tell.
SPEAKER_02So that was the association. The funny part is that based on what I do with the guys, it was Polemachus that was talking to Athena, not Odysseus.
SPEAKER_03It could have been. That's what I thought I read. I uh and again, the these big name actors and actresses they use, like I well, he did have to make the movie his own. Yeah, you gotta put your own on. You gotta have your own spin-on things. That's what direct.
SPEAKER_02We did enough in this movie to just buy spin-on things and not deviate from that. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Matt Man, I'm gonna tell you though, Matt Matt Damon. Odysseus had just What's the difference between Athena telling him where he should go or telling Tom where to go versus John Liz Gunnel? What's the difference? Oh, actually, because you said that that was phenomenal from him, man. He was one of the standouts. John Lickon.
SPEAKER_00It's one of my favorite parts he's played aside from a fucking clout.
SPEAKER_03I am not kidding.
SPEAKER_01It's sad because he plays a lot of good parts, but the the most memorable parts will probably be this one.
SPEAKER_03It's still John Wick for me, so that's still one of his favorite parts. You took John Wick's car and killed his dog. Oh, that fuck goddamn. That fucking dog you were gonna get more reactionary to the throwing of the dogs off the cliff than you did at the end. I was like, That's our puppies! Damn. I thought he was gonna turn to both of us.
SPEAKER_00Why are they killing the dogs?
SPEAKER_05They're not gonna do well in life. That's what they used to do. They used to kill the animals that would be.
SPEAKER_03They used to throw fucking baby babies deformed. Yes. Yeah. That's how you got cyclops. This baby deformed. That's how you got the 300.
SPEAKER_01They were in the Spartan Kingdom. It got so bad to point. Daddy, where are we? You're a little slow, son. Go this way.
SPEAKER_03My God. And it's true. It's fucking true. They literally had this survive a trial of wolves, you know, out in the wild.
SPEAKER_00What if you were deformed or some shit like that? Let me tell you.
Practical Stunts, Armor, And Boats
SPEAKER_03Honest to God truth. And this is the truth. And I still think they're cool as hell, but Dean, you know how glorified the Spartans are in Spartan society is? You know how fucked up their society? They were basically raising children soldiers. War, nothing else. They were, and their trainers were fucking them all the time and shit. God. Bad. Bad. Bad. You realize we would be thrown out in their society, right? Me? Fuck no.
SPEAKER_04Fuck no. Yeah. We do not have soldier mentality. Excuse me. No. We're very special. That's that one.
SPEAKER_03I know where he's going. Move on. Move on. Just move on. I do nothing but preach and being a warrior. What the fuck? I probably wouldn't. Okay. I'm like, excuse me. Matt's oh, he took big offense. Nah. You took offense before even letting me finish. Do not discredit my. He's not saying you wouldn't survive the wolf trial. He's saying you can survive something else. Oh, okay. No, I knew what he was doing. He'd take it. Oh. And I wasn't even referencing that part either.
SPEAKER_01That's how you know Matt. You compare sizes to his mentor, too. Hey, that's the mentor. Mentor. I heard that right.
SPEAKER_03I heard that right. I'm like, mentor? Yes. I'm more laughing at Matt's like, no, don't, don't. Dean's taking as you're calling out his warrior. No, Dean, I'm not doing that. Let me finish. But it's it's Dean. He jumps the gun.
unknownOh.
SPEAKER_01Uh-huh. Sword of God. Pre-con.
SPEAKER_03Oh god. But no, I had to throw that in there. A lot of these glorified. 300. The movie 300. 300 of them. Jesus Christ. I can't get my thought. You already can't. I'm just okay.
SPEAKER_01Well, it was like, make a 30 seconds. Oh.
SPEAKER_00Do you mean post not clarity?
SPEAKER_01You got a drink bite. How about a smoke? You know where I was kind of thinking? I'm waiting, never mind.
SPEAKER_00That's Canada's fire.
SPEAKER_03The only thing one thing I was clicking in my head too at the whole thing, I was like, why? Because I have kind of said I have red hair, but I was like, no, that's a Hitler thing. Hitler didn't like red hair. Hitler didn't like fucking only blonde hair, blue eyes. That's a Hitler thing. No, you're fucking gypsy. That's what people. That is what my people are in Hitler. They were gypsies. That's what they are. That's what Hitler viewed.
SPEAKER_00I hate myself. That's what Hitler viewed. I've said way too much on this fucking show that I'm German and I just said that.
SPEAKER_03My God. Mushroom people make sense now. Fuck off! I made that joke already. That wasn't you were present for that. You knew what happened. You knew what happened.
SPEAKER_02You assisted in somebody's suicide and you created a genocide?
SPEAKER_01I can't euthanize people, huh? Baldur's Gate reference.
SPEAKER_03You sought to ease someone suffering and just created genocide. The Jewish people are suffering. We're going to euthanize them. What? Wow. Man. That dog staying around 20 years though. I'm like, oh. That'll just lead us right into our fucking villains. Oh. Yeah, talk about more death. That dog.
SPEAKER_04Hey. That dog was best boy.
SPEAKER_03Okay, that would have to be Baxter then. I mean, saying that's saying you're like, no, no, it's Baxter, it's a boy. He didn't even care anymore that he was thrown in a pile of fucking done.
SPEAKER_01Oh, you're back. Wagtail, real happy.
SPEAKER_03No, I'm dead. I die. I can die. Died with his eyes open, man. I can die now. There were too many dog deaths in this movie. Yeah. Oh, I was gonna jump in. I was gonna jump in the screen and one of too many. Five. Because of the puppies.
SPEAKER_02Puppy. Well, there's at least two puppies. We saw the two guy dogs at Lynn Cosmos farm.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_02And then that's what.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. That fucking. So both fine. I was already jumping the screen. Hey, not kicking it. Yeah, fucks.
SPEAKER_01He's just fucking laying there. What are you doing?
SPEAKER_03Oh. Like we're sound all blind.
SPEAKER_00I swear to some one time the whole theater I actually gasped. Fucking hitting the dog.
SPEAKER_02Oh, I I I like that little one little. I heard everybody chuckle when Pattinson ran the fuck away when he realized to do it once.
SPEAKER_03He knew! The best detective figured it out and fought everybody else.
unknownI'm Batman.
SPEAKER_05He did kind of have a lot of emo Batman moments in that movie.
SPEAKER_02Are we done talking about the movie? Because that also sets me up for another segue.
SPEAKER_01No, segue enough. They shoved me. I like that they freaking Odyssey has to last three hours.
SPEAKER_02Oh yeah. I'll kick you guys out.
SPEAKER_03They even fucking got Mia Goth in there for a part. I'm assuming Mia Goth survived the slaughter at the end because I did not see her die. Even though something like slaughter may have gotten killed afterwards by mom. Yeah, maybe. Maybe. Maybe. I mean, geez, you had a you had a Batman. I was surprised to see. I'm like, oh, I knew she was in it, but I was like, she's she's a what you call a scream queen. That's she's horror. She is big in horror. Oh, she's in this too. She's in she's in a lot of horror. Nolan hasn't shied away from hiring up and people, neither is Tarantino.
SPEAKER_00Is this her first film outside of horror?
SPEAKER_03No, she's done other stuff, but she's primarily known for horror horror movies. Primarily. That looked actually interesting and creepy. It's gotta look creepy. If it don't look creepy, the whole point of it being a horror movie's out the window. But my fucking dumbass. A live-action Coraline?
SPEAKER_04I was like, what the hell? This looks kind of creepy. That was the only new trailer we've seen though, I think. No, there was one before that. But I haven't seen it anyway. New Vegas Man's talk. In a different movie. What's that? What was that one?
SPEAKER_03I can remember all the trails was all over. I subscribe it. I don't remember all of them because it was a three-hour fucking movie. Digger. No digger, I saw it at work. The Reagan one? I saw Reagan one at work. Uh-huh.
SPEAKER_04Meet the Walkers, I saw on a Tuesday. Uh-huh. I'm trying to remember.
SPEAKER_03I don't remember the trailers. I mean, it showed Mutiny again. That was the first one.
SPEAKER_00Differently this time. It's kind of weird.
SPEAKER_03God, I'm getting them like okay, Mutiny. Yep. They're showing me Mutiny again. I know. Super Troopers. That was the end. Super different Super Troopers.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that one was different.
SPEAKER_05Kind of weird.
SPEAKER_02He must actually like that series or something. It must be. That they're getting this much publicity. Yeah. This is free publicity because it's the one with Greg in it.
SPEAKER_03Free publicity. Oh man. I appreciate Nolan's practical. Well, he does he does most of his shit practical, and I will always appreciate that no matter what it is. I'm not saying CGI is a bad thing to
Action Style, Sound, And The Score
SPEAKER_03use, but sometimes CGI can make movie in my own. I can't tell if he loves dogs or hates them because those were Halloween props inside that fire. The dog bones? Yeah. Those were Halloween props. You know, and I always tell I always tell people when a dog dies in a movie, it's like, you know, that dog was fed well and given lots of treats on set for his work. That dog. So in a movie, that dog was 20 plus years.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. How old do you think the dog actually was?
SPEAKER_03I don't know. I'm over 10. Yeah. Imagine that casting calls. I don't have an old dog that would like to be in my movie.
SPEAKER_04Like, what the hell? Would your dog like to be in my film? Quite possibly. Other than that.
SPEAKER_00I know how old he was in the film. I want to know how old the acting dog was. The acting dog. It's kind of weird. I'm trying to look up a dog actor.
SPEAKER_03I've heard worse ideas. I think only me and Dean would actually look shit up like that. A dog actor. I know you can't find it.
SPEAKER_04You can't find it. No, I can't. I just add in real life to that.
SPEAKER_03I did like the I did like the underworld scene too. That was one of my that was one of my favorite scenes. I thought that was a very good ad.
SPEAKER_00I don't know.
SPEAKER_02I'm not I'm not getting an answer. I wasn't convinced it was hell. I didn't like the setting as much. You know the creepy yeah, the creepy things. Yeah, the creepy things. But the d but the dusty desert didn't necessarily sell hell to me. Run away!
SPEAKER_00They're trying to get us. In Greek mythology, it's the one freaking time that they well, aside from Norse. The dead can't kill you if they touch you.
SPEAKER_01Don't let them touch us. Don't let them touch us. Run.
SPEAKER_03Because they actually believe in necrosis. What a journey. Alright, so, alright. See where we go into. For fuck's sakes, they named a city after it.
SPEAKER_02I won't get into that.
SPEAKER_03No necrosity? No. First point I have on this list.
SPEAKER_04First point? Oh, one got scared. I don't need to. Was it the boats? No. I must be on the way home. Yep.
Batman Sequel Delays And DC Worries
SPEAKER_04The boats. The boats. So Batman?
SPEAKER_03Batman. What about Patrick? The additional delay to 2028? Oh yeah, I told yeah, they delayed it again. A few months, like five months, but still it got delayed again. And there's uh interesting. I asked them what the reason was and they couldn't tell me. They said production time, an extra production time.
SPEAKER_02I heard it was because of the delay in another movie. So this one got pushed back to their next release date. Because that movie got pushed back to Batman's release date. So that's what the hell. There's also a secondary reason that I brought up to you that may be coming up. Matt Reeves may be trying to distance himself as much from Gunn as possible if Gunn's on his way out.
SPEAKER_03Oh boy! I heard Matt Reeves had might have health issues too a little bit. Maybe.
SPEAKER_02Which explains why he hasn't done a single movie out of Batman in the last seven years.
SPEAKER_03Right. Matt Reeves having health issues. But what were you saying? That wasn't a health issue. That was an accident.
SPEAKER_00It's not like he fell off a horse.
SPEAKER_03God. But yeah, you're saying so. Do you think he's trying to distance from Gun? Because Gun, well, yeah, that's up in the air right now.
SPEAKER_02Did you bookmark what I had on Gun?
SPEAKER_03Or did uh assholes. Damn, that even I think that's harsh. I mean, after two movies, you're already thinking about canning Gun. Two movies and one two shows.
SPEAKER_04There will be three.
SPEAKER_03Man, Peacemaker. Peacemaker technically is part of that too. But you have Peacemaker, Superman, Supergirl. Oh, the TV shows. Two movies.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_03Peacemakers. Creature commandos. Creature commandos, which was the start, which was questionable at best. Yeah, like that's your first thing. Okay, which is fine. They made the evil Superman, the fucking armor. So this was James Gunn's comments on the delay of the bat.
SPEAKER_02To be fair, a five-year gap or more is fairly common in sequels. Seven years between Alien and Aliens, 14 years between Incredibles, 7 years between the first two Terminators, 13 years between Avatars, 36 years between Top Guns, and of course six years between Guardians 2 and Guardians 3. Well, it's never good when your example's part of it.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Nobody knew Aliens was getting a sequel even though they wanted one. Yeah. Terminator is in the same boat. Yeah. I I will point out this.
SPEAKER_00We as a society, people going at moviegoers, are expecting way too much of Hollywood and hey, crank out this film. I want the sequel now.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. The difference is like his point was five. It's now seven.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. By the time it comes out. That's a different book problem. I don't mind as long as the film supposed to be. I was very excited for Bat the Batman 2. Now I'm still excited. I still am, but it's starting to dwindle a little bit because I'm a little concerned of the quality of this movie.
SPEAKER_02My concern more so is that this is just proving that there wasn't a story. They didn't have any idea what it was.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, they didn't know what that was. That's the problem. They're writing this. What are they trying to go after what was it? The first Halloween this time around?
SPEAKER_02The long Halloween?
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_02I believe so, but it could have changed. And now Pattinson, when this movie comes out, Pattinson will be the same edge Affleck was in Batman V Superman.
SPEAKER_03Steve Buffer. No. No, the movie is will come. The movie's filming. Because Reeves showed a shot. The movie is filming. It is filming. So unless it got thrown to the wolves and don't exist like Bat Girl. But oh God, please don't do that. Oh I had high hopes because Brandon Frazier is a fucking villain. I want to see that movie because I want to see how bad it was. They literally do need to throw it up on freaking HBO chance. Yeah, what's the chance to do it? What's the more side? Even if it's bad.
SPEAKER_00I already collected the money from it. Just throw it on HBO. I don't even care if it's bad.
SPEAKER_03So I wrote down the numbers for Guns 2 movies and did the math for them. So curious about this.
Box Office Math And Marketing Reality
SPEAKER_02So Superman made just over $177 million domestically. Yes.
SPEAKER_05And which is about what, $100 million short of what it needed?
SPEAKER_02So that's domestically.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_02You gotta do all the things. Then internationally add in almost $106 million for $200, just under $282 million.
SPEAKER_03Which are you that like opening? I'm curious not to do that. No, this is total. This is it's out of the theater and done. This is what its final numbers were. Superman or Superman. Supergirl's next. I was doing both. Well, wait, no, 200. I thought Superman made like 600 something or is it or am I missing the studio? Studio made. Oh, their money they made. Yes. Okay. I get what you're doing. Okay. Okay. I see what you're doing now. Which means they made just over almost $58 million. That's not bad, but that's not okay. You're like, let me finish here. They don't report the advertising. Advertising was $125 million for the movie, so they've lost almost $70 million on Superman.
unknownWoo!
SPEAKER_02Now here's the thing.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_02I asked for I asked you, I think I asked you this question, and I asked Ryan this question. Odyssey needs to make the same amount of money to break Eva. Yep.
SPEAKER_03Everybody said I don't agree with it, but everybody else was saying that they thought Odyssey was advertised less than Superman?
SPEAKER_00I'm not sure. They had more advertising. Wow.
SPEAKER_03So it had advertising years in advance. So meaning it would need to make more money for Superman. Yes. That's the case.
SPEAKER_00Because we've known about Odyssey for what the past five years? And had fucking advertisements three years ago.
SPEAKER_03So whatever the final reported budget was for Superman, you need to add about $75 billion to it. Right, right. Right.
SPEAKER_00For fuck's sake, I think we had the first technical trailer for the Odyssey attached to the last Spider-Man movie. No, that doesn't sound right.
SPEAKER_03It wasn't Spider-Man. It may have been Spider-Verse. Spider-Verse, maybe. May have been Spider-Verse. Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey is rough estimate estimates to debut at about 257.8 million worldwide. That's not close to what Spider Superman made opening like that. Okay, so six things got better legs than Superman. That's not a that's a great opening worldwide, but it needs legs. It needs to make a lot of money. So here was I knew it opened big.
SPEAKER_02I didn't update for this today, so I don't know how much it made since yesterday, but yesterday's reported makings for Supergirl. Oh no, it's gonna be bad.
unknownWell
SPEAKER_02$34 million, $20,000 domestically.
SPEAKER_00It's better than I thought it would.
SPEAKER_02That's domestically. Internationally, just under $20 million.
SPEAKER_03So it was sitting at $53 million made. Profit. Okay. It's money that it made.
SPEAKER_05Which now that one did have specifically less advertising.
SPEAKER_03They also advertised it like shit.
SPEAKER_02Agreed. There is, I don't have the number for their advertising right now, but as it stands right now, it's lost somewhere between $116 and $132 million.
SPEAKER_03Disemping money.
SPEAKER_02Now, luckily, their next movie has a $40 million budget.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. What about toy sales?
SPEAKER_02That isn't that doesn't count towards the studio. That counts towards who owns them.
SPEAKER_03That's a Warner Brothers thing.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. That that's who should be counting that shit. Now, it's the movie making us hitting money other places. Which is updated for that.
SPEAKER_02Which was the Star Wars solution for everything. They didn't care which the movie is lost, but everybody's buying the fucking toys. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03I don't know how many people kids are actually buying Superman toys. No. Enough for them to make stupid fucking baby toys.
SPEAKER_02Or is that off animals? Or is that off of a Disney show somehow?
SPEAKER_03And we all know 90% of kids, the first superhero toy, they're gonna run to when they see it. Yeah. Dude, you you have a chibi universe. They specifically made up a chibi venom. It's not venom, it is literally. It's a shame. It is a hundred percent. Are you done, Matt? Or you got more for Supergirl? Oh. No, he's going to more. Okay. I don't have much math time. I don't have much in terms of Supergirl on my next point with Superman. Okay. But it's a shame because I freaking love DC. I buy DC comics every day, every Friday at Lost World still. I love DC and they just can't seem the people. I don't get it. It's forced. They they just force. What do you mean by forced? They just don't. Hate is forced.
SPEAKER_00You think the hate isn't like they don't want to go.
SPEAKER_03I agree with most of that. I agree with most of it. You have the Snyder fans. It's like we won't even fuck with this shit. Yeah. And I agree with that. Three would be that no one cares. That's also true. No one cares. Well, I think the your biggest problem there is nobody cares about DC's supergirls outside of the big three. Yeah. And right now you have one of them.
SPEAKER_00You have a hard fucking time making anyone lovable. You have to attach a great soundtrack. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Which um we got Superman was fine. Superman was fine, yes. Supergirls was not. No. No. Oh no. We all agreed on that. That was bad. Yeah. Lobo needed his own soundtrack and didn't get one. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Somebody put somebody went uh people instituted. Somebody went and edited the final song that they did for her action sequence at the end. Huh? No, they did the same. No, they did the same song to Platoon where everybody's dying.
SPEAKER_03And do you feel the impact of the scene with this song play? Right, right, right. Like I said, it's a shame.
SPEAKER_05What the f what's one thing I couldn't tell about Supergirl is how much was going on behind scenes for that movie to have changed as much as it did.
SPEAKER_03The thing is, though, one thing I will say, I I agree with a lot of what Jay. I think a lot of it is forced, is a little forced hate because like I said, you got the Snyder fans only want Snyder stuff and all that. But the other problem is release schedule. Alright. I gotta say, too, I really enjoyed Superman. I enjoyed it. And I I liked Super. I didn't love it, but I did like I love Supergirl's a character. I love her comics. I liked the movie, but I still haven't been blown away. Like I do, like what like I don't want to be fucking Marvel, but like Captain America Civil War blew me away. Endgame blew me away. No way home blew me. To be fair, all your movies they were like, but you need to you need to go to what ones blew you away in the before up to first Avengers. Right. That's what Gunn is trying to do. Right. Iron Man was a great movie. Iron Man One was great. Thor was really trying to build his golden justice league.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. And he's doing a very bad job of it.
SPEAKER_03Thor was solid. Not my favorite. The casting is I'm not criticizing. Right. It's like you're throwing them all to you're throwing them all together before you have a setup. This just leads me back to the Odyssey. We we don't have great storytelling going on right now. Well, Supergirl was based on a very good graphic novel, but they didn't follow it much. They took their own liberties with it.
DCU Strategy, Snyder Talk, And Reboots
SPEAKER_03And also, so this is where I was gonna make your second movie in your movie franchise. You gave you had you gave a villain, not the majority of people don't know him.
SPEAKER_00Even if you don't know him, didn't like the way he looked, didn't like him whatsoever.
SPEAKER_03Because he had a one. At least, which is what which ironically, which is where I said I may get Jade Hate Mouth at this point. Do you remember what the second villain is in the MCU?
SPEAKER_05In the MCU? Yes. We have Iron Man, then we went into Avengers. No, what was the second movie? Second movie was Hulk. Hulk? Abomination.
SPEAKER_03Abomination. Which at least is a big Hulk villain. Nice.
SPEAKER_04God? Zeus? Zeus? You have no attic. What the fuck was that? You have an addict. Zeus? Who's in the attic? Zeus. Zeus. Bro. Someone might be an attic. Is there a reason you're taking a gun?
SPEAKER_03Well, this is gonna be an interesting fucking part of a podcast.
SPEAKER_04Not even an hour in. We we definitely heard that.
SPEAKER_01This is not a horrible we went to go see.
SPEAKER_04They're just gonna start hearing.
SPEAKER_01If you start turning into pigs because you put us pizza, I'm kicking someone's ass as a pig. Oh my god.
SPEAKER_03Dino just sit there laughing. No, I won't be loud just to eat.
SPEAKER_04No. I was telling you. Okay, I think we're good. I was I didn't hear no scuffles.
SPEAKER_03I'd have been scared to shitless if that wasn't Matt that came down. Like, ah! Could be a fucking doppelbeater, not the Lino. Skinwalker! Oh no, I'll deal with it. It's other mommy. She gets f could like a contortionist, so that could be fun.
SPEAKER_00Okay, we're she's trying to kill you. She's not trying to fuck you.
SPEAKER_04I think I know what fell. Huh? I think I know what fell. Jesus?
SPEAKER_02He's in the basement. He's in the basement.
SPEAKER_03Excuse me. That's where Christmas stuff is. That's where the Christmas stuff is. Okay, you bring me one too. Coke.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. I was joking when I said Jesus fell, but you took it so much further. Yeah. Oh, he's in the basement. He's gotta go south. What's your soda? It's just so you can't like. The German wouldn't make those jokes.
SPEAKER_00I like how we do it. I'm just laying in the trap. We're falling into it. Yeah, the Germans did that too, remember? All it took is one fine winter. Oh. Multiple times.
SPEAKER_02So yes, at least you got abomination out of your second movie, which isn't maybe as it wasn't even supposed to be the second movie.
SPEAKER_05They didn't towards it though. At the end. It wasn't meant to be MCU until later.
SPEAKER_03They added that. Yeah, they added it afterwards. How would you like it if we included your movie into a larger universe? Oh more plexus. No, that was the last two pencil. We have to remember that before next. I don't know how we're going to be able to do that.
SPEAKER_01The thing about these the movies have moments and a lot, they're casting. Did you consider Jesus while you were down there? I didn't see him down there.
SPEAKER_03I think he escaped. You got it back up. They're casting something.
SPEAKER_00You missed what I said earlier. I um I swear to God, if I start wearing a red hat, you make fun of me that way.
SPEAKER_03I am wearing an army green shirt.
SPEAKER_01They're for the most part, their casting's been pretty good.
SPEAKER_03But they're not, their movies aren't hitting fully. And again, this is someone I do keep making way too much fun of the cornsweather actually does get not Corn Sweat. Supergirl. Alcock, she gets a lot of shit. She was cast pretty good, I thought, but they're taking pictures where it aren't her best picture from the movie and making her total shit like that.
SPEAKER_02I I'll never go that far. But my point for the DCU is like your second movie, following Superman up with Supergirl was not an outrageous decision. We know that's not. No. You wanted them to go predictable and do Batman or Wonder Woman? No, I'm saying that that that wasn't the problem. Your problem was that the movie you chose to write already halved your audience from what it was because it was, I told Dean, it wasn't really a family movie either. Which one? Supergirl?
SPEAKER_03Supergirl.
SPEAKER_01No, no, it really wasn't. Drunkard Woman.
SPEAKER_03Drunk woman with child trafficking. Yeah. Yep.
SPEAKER_02You you're you if any of that got out, which the drunken stuff was in the trailer, the child trafficking wasn't as much. Oh, we're not taking our little girl to see this.
SPEAKER_03Yes. Because it was only women that were trafficked. This is where and this is where my train up is like you you're you're choosing your decision and not realizing the problems. Yeah, at least there was no pizza in the movie. Oh god. No, you had alien buck popcorn. Yeah. I had actually forgotten about all that.
SPEAKER_04This tastes like shit.
SPEAKER_03Nice. This was shit. So then the rumors are coming out about man of tomorrow. I still have hope, but we'll see. But I'm gonna hear these rumors. I don't know. Because one did just get confirmed. I was it Jaime? Blue Beetle is confirmed to be in the movie. Same actor.
SPEAKER_00Okay. I love that he's still a thing, but some people are mad that guns pulling from old DCU.
SPEAKER_02The problem is, is almost they there's the rumored cast is already 25 people long. So you're turning Man of Tomorrow into a Justice League movie. Oh no! Which basically it should be for Brainiac anyway to a degree.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I'm like, yeah. Yeah. So it's a Justice League movie without Flash or Batman. Oh god. That that hurts a little bit. No Batman. Don't have a Batman. I could care less about Flash right now.
SPEAKER_05We still need some time away from spaghetti. I've eaten enough garlic bread.
SPEAKER_02But there's like Titana is in the movie. Wonder Woman's supposed to be in the movie. Martian Manhunter is supposed to be in Titana and Wonder Woman.
SPEAKER_03Awesome.
SPEAKER_00Martian Manhunter?
SPEAKER_03Fuck yes.
SPEAKER_02But that's on top of all the other characters on our channel. I heard it.
SPEAKER_03I don't know if you care less what the fuck Ray is, too. I heard a report of Because it's John Jones.
SPEAKER_00He makes his own fucking.
SPEAKER_03Because he wanted to. I heard a report of possibly Zachary Levi coming back as Shazam, too. Possibly. Oh yep. He wants because he really wants to.
SPEAKER_00He loved the character. Had so much fun playing him, but he knew it went off on.
SPEAKER_03He had a very good movie? Then a puppy one. That was the second one was not great. Besides the unicorns. That was funny. But the second one had Wonder Woman in it, didn't it? Oh yeah, the random. I mean, I gotta kick on her.
SPEAKER_01Love that guitar riff. Nothing beats her armor coming out of fucking nowhere, though.
SPEAKER_02But they're over-congesting. They are over-congesting a Superman movie. Again.
SPEAKER_03Again.
SPEAKER_02Just call it Justice League at this point.
SPEAKER_03Oh, we can't call every movie Justice League. This one you could. It has everybody in it. Don't forget, the the Justice gang is gonna be in it too. Yeah. I'm saying you're adding 10 new characters on top of the ones you already had.
SPEAKER_02I've heard Oh, in both Green Lanterns, because you've got John's, you'll have John, the two that are alive anywhere.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, the two that are alive. We're getting Kyle Arena. We're getting Guy and Jon Stewart. That's okay. Oh, not bad. Guy's gonna be names there for a moment. Guys, guys, actually, I like don't want any fridges relic. Soon he'll be soon he's gonna get really mad and be red and gonna reinvigorate everything. Oh, wait, I remember Matt blow the belt with that one after me ready for red. He's like, Dean, you need lanterns to be successful for any more lantern stuff. They'd sooner give you Larflee too. What's mine is mine. What's mine is mine.
SPEAKER_00You want to know what Lar Fleece would be? Every single thing he makes would just be land-based. It'd be people in DC shirts.
SPEAKER_02At least Larflee sounds like a James character. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03It actually very much is.
SPEAKER_02I know. Then you have the other rumors of the other projects going on. We kind of think we already talked about Jimmy Olsen and Gorilla Grod. Still questioning that.
SPEAKER_05What the fuck is Jimmy Olson and Gorilla Grod doing in the same state?
SPEAKER_02Both of those stop. The way the announcement was was bad. Now it just sounds like it's Jimmy Olson being a reporter as he is, and then he finds Gorilla Grad.
SPEAKER_00Okay, terrible. It's at least believable. The one thing I will take out of Jimmy Olson getting his own, and this has to be a show. Have you ever seen this the cart the old cartoon where he ended up being in a space taxi? Yes. Going across the universe? Yeah. That's what I will accept Gun doing because he could pull that off. That's the one time that Jimmy Olson goes off and makes all his connections that he supposedly had in the first fucking film.
SPEAKER_02I heard of. And I'll let you explain the other project that's being worked on because that made you hard.
SPEAKER_03Oh, I think I mentioned Jay and Andrew Hart. No, because I love both of the characters, and I think that would be a cool movie, but it don't Death Stroke and Bane movie.
SPEAKER_00Oh, we we talked about that. When we were at Green Bay, we went all over to see.
SPEAKER_03He even played some uh video. One of my one of my podcast guys on. Why it'd be awesome to have a work. Why it would why a Bane and Deathstroke would be cool, but he said, Who? Where is that at the at the point? Where are you pulling this movie out of your ass? At the point you're in now where you're not doing very well, you're gonna release a movie that most people don't even know who the fuck they are?
SPEAKER_01Like normal people. So what are you doing?
SPEAKER_00And I would love the movie, but after getting Man of Tomorrow, he should just make the next movie Convergence.
SPEAKER_01Oh, don't lie. You you would actually You don't want to know and make you you want to know what?
SPEAKER_03I don't give a fuck. You know what I'm done? Then you call everybody. Just do it, done. Just do it. Do it. I swear to God. Convergence, some multiversal extravaganza. Fuck, just do it. Bring them back. Everyone wants him. Bring Cavill back.
SPEAKER_00Bring everyone back. The world. No! I'll let that fucking TikTok anyways bring them back. Where uh Robert Downey Jr. and Deadpool go on a fucking tirade of trying to recruit people.
SPEAKER_05They went to Henry Cavill and he was just pissed off and tried to laser. Yeah. He's like, I don't I don't want it anymore. I'd never done that.
SPEAKER_02Well, it was all I had for DC, and then we can go MCU now.
SPEAKER_03DC, I mean another thing. I'm curious about I'm curious about both opinions, both your opinions. I have said this. I had a lot more positives with it than negatives. I had a lot of negatives, but I still had a lot of good times with a lot of Snyder's movies. Do you think they've pulled they were starting to fail pretty bad? But do they did they pull the plug on Snyder too quick? Or I think it could have been salvaged. So I liked a lot of the shit Snyder did. What was the last one? Flash. Flash. But he wasn't any uh he wasn't involved in a lot of that shit anymore. That's what I mean. They maybe stopped. What was his last film he was involved in?
SPEAKER_02Justice League? Justice League was the last one he did. But you Snyder Cunt.
SPEAKER_03You can't, yep, Snyder Cunt. You can't count that original film. He was part of the original.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, yeah. Well, that's the reason we got Snyder Cup. But I'm talking what was the last film he was actually involved in? Was Justice League?
SPEAKER_03That was Justice League. Yep. He had no hand in the game after that. Not really, because they kind of kicked him to the curb.
SPEAKER_02Guys, I think Justice League was 2017. And the Snyder Cut came just out after 2021. Yep. And Flash is how old.
SPEAKER_03Flash was 2023, so I doubt he had anything to do with Flash. Since the last part of DC he worked on was 2017. Well, that's not right. What? I literally looked up to the Snyderverse movies and it only lists three of them.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I don't even think you know how much he had to say in Aquaman, too. So Man of Steel, Batman v Superman, Don of Justice, Zack Snyder's Justice League.
SPEAKER_03That's all Google.
SPEAKER_02But he was definitely there for Aquaman. Aquaman 1 definitely came.
SPEAKER_03I mean Man of Steel. We all know I love that movie. BVS. He technically left, but he had at least words with Justice League. BVS. I liked some of it. Did he handle a woman? He must have. Because that's before Justice League. He must have. Yeah, that was before Justice League. He had to be part of that. That was a very good movie. He had definitely had to be a part of that. Then there was Justice League. And then Aquaman, no, because Aquaman technically happened after. How about the first Suicide Squad? Probably that was before Wondering was the first of the thing. I thought that was even before I thought that was between 2016. Man of Steel was 2015, wasn't it? Man of Steel was 13.
SPEAKER_04Okay. So he however BVS was 2016. Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_03I I'm just going through before. I mean, Man of Steel, I like BBS had issues. I enjoyed Ayer's Suicide Squad. I really did. I think they should have just had Leto Joker be the villain of a movie. It would have been a lot better. Should I bring up Birds of Prey for you? That's after. That is a lot of that is my Marvel Robbie love carrying that movie for me.
SPEAKER_05Now we know what James Gunn started getting involved was Suicide Squad 2021.
SPEAKER_03Great fucking movie. Yeah. Oh yeah. Great fucking movie. Great fucking movie. That's when people started asking, hey, you're gonna Well Peacemaker's supposed to be in Man of Tomorrow, too. I'm not against it. I told you it's an ingested ass movie. I want more of that because that's one thing I gotta give shit to Peacemaker season two. Season ended kind of lame. Put him in his thing, goal, we're done. Yo, that shit kind of lame, man. Come on, gun. Come on, run that back. That shit kind of lame.
SPEAKER_05That is the show that introduced us to the DC multiverse. Live action.
SPEAKER_03It's like, come on, man. Very hit or miss. Very hit or miss. But they had some real fucking stinkers too. Like, for example, why I said like BVS, for example. We all hated Isenberg's Luthlore. We all hated Isenberg's Luthlore. So who did the casting of that movie? Because they definitely didn't fucking think that one through. Doomsday look like a ninja turtle. They sandwiched a lot in there. It probably shouldn't have been. Batman Batflax had his own fucking movie. The infamous Martha scene.
SPEAKER_04I love how that's infamous.
SPEAKER_03I just I don't know. I want to see if DC can write gun can write the ship or not, or we're gonna reboot the shit again. Like, my god. How can you literally have uh who knows? Maybe the DC. No, it's hard to say. Gunn needs to go, unfortunately.
SPEAKER_02He's the ideas are okay, but he's trying to speed run things to get to justify any.
SPEAKER_03Marble, again, I said this to you. Marble laid the foundation. You gotta lay the foundation.
SPEAKER_02Warner Brothers has little to no say in it, and most of anything right now because they're trying to get bought out.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Who's all involved in that? Teramo is involved, I think.
SPEAKER_02Everything that the CEO has said for Warner Brothers is they're just trying to make stuff. He has no creative okay, well, he's just a business guy. It's all gun. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03And Gunn already openly said it. He didn't know how to write Superman, yet he's the one that directed and wrote Superman. It worked out. Kind of. Hey, you're the only critic here. For that movie. To be fair. I enjoyed it a lot more than Matt still lost. But I do understand Matt's issues with it. But me and Matt are similar with money because the convolutedness of it. You can enjoy the movie. There's movies I enjoy that are fucking flaps that didn't make no money, but then I never get no more. You they need I think I'm worse than you want. They need to make money. They need to make because I'd become so I'm a movie cinephile with with that stuff, with box office stuff. If, like, look at DC now. I love DC, but if they don't make money, I'm not gonna get no more because they're these don't make money. We're done. Look at He-Man. He-Man probably maybe not killed, because people will still try, but super uh He-Man's failure killed a lot of possible 80s reinvigoration cartoons. They don't want to touch that with a 10-foot pole now. Five Thundercats. And I just go see Chitar to go for Chitar anyway, but or in Smarf. Smash. No. You're going for Panther. That's my boy. Just saying. And the fucking Thunder. What was a bigger failure? He-Man or Supergirl? Because He-Man, it's He-Man was pretty bad too, money-wise. I still can't believe they couldn't look up. They couldn't capture nothing. And that was a pretty damn good movie. They couldn't capture no money. No people. Release it with the back rooms, you fucking idiots. We're trying to get young people to come see our He-Man movie.
SPEAKER_01Didn't even fucking.
SPEAKER_03Let's release it with the back rooms. Let's release it with the back rooms. No shit about back rooms.
SPEAKER_00Let's release it with the back rooms. Do you think all of Hollywood discusses, oh yeah, we're going to move release this movie here? No, so you probably shouldn't release that there's a room.
SPEAKER_03My point is they want to try to get kids to go see He-Man, but all the kids are going to go see fucking backrooms because that's their minions. That's their mythology. Young adults. Young adults. Backrooms. They're going to see backrooms because that's their shit they grew up with. The late teens. Anyone from the age of 12 to about 18 is going to see backrooms. Yeah. Because of YouTube. Exactly. Exactly. I agree. If only there was one character that could unite every age and gender for everyone just to go and have a good time. There's got to be a character that can unite everyone and just make a shit ton of money.
SPEAKER_00Which is why you're no longer. Hey. Oh no. Matt, I lost.
SPEAKER_05It's not two weeks.
SPEAKER_03He already stopped glazing the movie. Oh shit. I lost. Why? Because just because I talked about Spider-Man? Yeah, you're right on the Spider-Man already. Well, it's a good segue in the movie because now we got Marvel. We spend enough time talking about depressing DC and how they depressed. Marvel's thinking. You can get into the castings while I'm working out the math. Well, but we got a lot of rumored castings and a lot of people involved for X-Men. Possibly. We talked in the car, Adam Driver. Magneto, maybe, but I've also heard Sinister.
MCU X-Men Casting Rumors And Wish Lists
SPEAKER_00I would much prefer him as Magneto.
SPEAKER_03You would Magnino?
SPEAKER_00I don't see him as sinister whatsoever.
SPEAKER_03Matt's like, no, I'm genuinely saying, Oh, God. Sinister, unfortunately. You can see him as sinister? I can see him more as sinister. It's his face, the way he smiles.
SPEAKER_00It's sinister sinister. Sinister.
SPEAKER_03And whenever he's whenever he sees Scott and Gene, he's got to be like, ooh, here they are. Call him.
SPEAKER_00He's also got to be a snip.
SPEAKER_03Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_00He's got to be able to portray that. And as much as Driver can portray that creepy nature, due to what we see, have you seen?
SPEAKER_03Have you not joking? Have you seen Driver portray a white supremacist in black Klansman? No, I didn't. But I did see it. You didn't see the scene. You didn't see the scene. I have to show you the scene after where he's where it depends on what its budget is. He-Man's? Yeah.
SPEAKER_02No, it depends on what Supergirl's official budget is. Oh, okay. Because if it's the because the Supergirl's still listed at two numbers, 170 or 186. Yeah. If it's 170, He-Man lost more money. He-Man lost more than 170? No, if the Supergirl's budget is 170, He-Man lost more money.
SPEAKER_03If it's 186, He-Man's doing better. Okay, so they're like they're in the same tier. Yep. But okay, Jay's a sinister. I'm I'm indifferent, really. I would maybe rather see Sinister because he's gotten the least amount of love. And I mean, every not that she has a chance to make the character his own. Not that it's not deserved, but Magneto's been just glazed by fucking X-Men because he's been in everything. And for God's sakes, I told Matt this. Jay, Adam Driver, if he's Cassius Magneto, he's got to follow the footsteps of Sir Ian McKellen and Michael Fossbender. I'm like, holy shit, those are some shoes.
SPEAKER_02I just not like Professor X has any less shoes to fill. Patrick Stewart.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_02And that's and right now that could be Patrick Stewart. And I'd personally love to see Patrick Wilson play him as rumored. Oh, not Skarsgrd. Did you hear? I do not want Skarsgard to be Professor X.
SPEAKER_03You didn't hear them rumors, Jay? Skarsgard for Professor X or Patrick Wilson? I'm like, he knew I he knew. Oh, Dean loves Skarsgard. Fuck. But I love Patrick Wilson too, though.
SPEAKER_00So we've seen him both bald, haven't we?
SPEAKER_04Kinda. Kinda.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Kinda, yeah. Yo, yeah, yeah. Welcome to Derry. You see Skarsgard with like a skull cap, kinda. So yeah.
SPEAKER_02Technically he's bald in Death of Robinson.
SPEAKER_00So how how many Game of Thrones actors have showed up in the MCU at this point?
SPEAKER_02Game of Thrones? Yes. MCU? Uh-huh. Has Charles Dance been in it already? I don't know if Charles Dance is in there.
SPEAKER_01Because I know this guy up and he has the square jaw and the face and the nose.
SPEAKER_04Ewan Riann. I don't know often. Oh. That would be who I would cast as Mr. Sinister.
SPEAKER_00That's fair. I'm not opposed to that. Uh-huh. Because one, he's young enough. He looks like he would play a good apocalypse. What the hell?
SPEAKER_05Slave. A horseman, Apocalypse? I wouldn't say a horseman. He's never been called a horseman, but he is also he was built to do apocalypse's bidding. Right. And the whole reason for him having this affection for the Summers.
SPEAKER_03The closest we got is because of your favorite. Right, right. The closest we got to a sinister was he was supposed to be the villain in Remember the New Mutants with Anya Taylor Joy and Magic? They were trying to get Antonio Banderas to play.
SPEAKER_00Did you get a fucking cutscene where they showed the blood and all that?
SPEAKER_03No, I don't believe they're the Wolverine.
SPEAKER_00That was the Wolverine.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Yep. Where they teased.
SPEAKER_00That's bullshit.
SPEAKER_03We've been expecting to see him. My point is you've had so much Logan instead. You've had, here's the problem with Magneto. Here's the thing.
SPEAKER_05How can I be mad at that?
SPEAKER_03I know. We've had, here's the problem. As much as I say we've had so much Magneto, we should have more characters. Magneto is a pillar of the X-Men. So he had the whole story. He has to be like his daughter. Polaris. It's a Polaris. I just seen her in X-Men X7. No. Head Pixelberg. I'm thinking of his actual daughter. I know.
SPEAKER_02You can probably get away with not having on his actual son. At this point, you could probably get away with not having McNeto in the first X-Men movie.
SPEAKER_00We do not need the Brotherhood.
SPEAKER_02We don't need the Brotherhood. You may need to make a cameo appearance in it at some point for something.
SPEAKER_03I would enjoy. We don't need any of the Brotherhood. No, we don't need a Brotherhood in the middle.
SPEAKER_05Well, if you want to establish the X-Men, especially the way they're going to, especially in the incursion bullshit, that has been no post-incursion bullshit. Yeah, post-incursion bullshit.
SPEAKER_03We want the main five. Well, they seem to be trying to cast Rogue. I've been liking a lot of casts.
SPEAKER_00I'm saying this stupidly because we've already had a movie named after it. We need the first class.
SPEAKER_02Everybody's been quoting it. Even co-worker has been quoting it.
SPEAKER_03I haven't been mad at any of the ones they've foreshadowed as well. I read some more because you know I do like her a lot. The girl from Marty Supreme, her name. She's cast as her, Margaret Quali, and McKelly Spanny, who's the girl in the most. I'd be fine with her, her or quality. What's her name? She's Israeli. It's like it's hard to say her fucking name. Yeah. The girl from Alien Romney. And American having a hard time pronouncing it a racism. Why were you the one to go say that? I knew it. I knew it. I knew it. Alien Romnulus. We don't know shit. What'd you say? The girl from Alien Romulus is the new one that's being portrayed around for. Here's the thing about rogue, though. You can't do the accent on a. That is literally that's the whole core of Rogue.
SPEAKER_00That's the whole casting call, right now. Alright, you gotta give us that Southern battle action, so you ain't gonna get it. Sugar?
SPEAKER_02That's good. Like I said, I don't want Bill Skarsgard to beat, I don't want him to be Professor X. I am completely fine with him playing Kurt. I can see him being Nightcrawler. Ironically.
SPEAKER_00Yes.
SPEAKER_02I can see Skarsgard pulling that off easily.
SPEAKER_03There's been a couple people rumored for Cyclops. Sadie's Gene Gray. There's no hiding it. That's not confirmed.
SPEAKER_02Amy Cascell ruined it. What? She said, Yeah, you know, yeah, I I've seen I've seen the internet enough. You know, we we knew everybody knew that all the three Spider-Mans were in the last movie, and we're just accepting things that people know things now. And she was quoting it about and she was asked about Sadie's sink in that question. We know what's going on.
SPEAKER_03She just absolutely have her gene. Yep, yep. And when I look, I like that cast. I like that cast. I told you the story. They gave that shit to her without even her auditioning. They called her. Here, you want this part? Didn't even tell her what part. They were the script said, Oh, I'm playing team grade. Well, like you said, her shit in stranger things. Oh, she's perfect. Come on. What are you looking at, Ja? Nothing. But damn it. Well, the X Men are gonna be very important to the next. Like I said, MCU's been on the upstreak. They've been on a win streak, so they're trying to look at how they can freaking flounder for a little bit and then get their bearings back. You know how they are getting it back though? Feige is slowing down and trying to focus on more things. I folk trying to focus on everything. Because he's he's been he got so busy for that stretch when we got mediocre MCU stuff, from what I read. He was too busy doing other stuff. He let other people handle stuff, and the quality went down. When Fige's involved, it's normally good. So he's getting more involved again. You want the bad thing of that? What? Unless you have some.
SPEAKER_05No, no, it doesn't have to be said. I was thinking Mark Strong for Professor X.
SPEAKER_02It's plausible, but he's on. But that one, he's on the older end, and it depends on how long, how old you're trying to cast Ian McKellen outside of him.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. Because Ian's gotta be older technically.
SPEAKER_05Or at least by about 20 years. Not even that much. Well, if he's gonna be in the camps as a child.
SPEAKER_03The math checked out where he's like it's like Xavier's 11 years younger. Older, younger than him. Only like 11 years.
SPEAKER_05I said about 20, didn't I?
SPEAKER_02That's half.
SPEAKER_00Jesus Christ, it's going fast.
SPEAKER_03There's a difference between a decade and two.
SPEAKER_02A lot of things.
SPEAKER_00Doesn't happen to a full two decades. You know, the dog lived that long and we couldn't tell. The dog probably felt dead at 10. Yep. It had ten more years of dying. Why don't we have a fucking actors list for animals in movies?
SPEAKER_02Because nobody expects to me to look it up.
SPEAKER_00I want the cast for the animals. Give me the names of those cows.
SPEAKER_02Did either of you know that Avengers Doomsday is being re-released at the end of the year?
SPEAKER_03Yes. Yeah. Do you know why? No.
SPEAKER_05I don't think we pay attention to it.
SPEAKER_03Christmas time. Christmas movie. Because they're adding an end credit scene to it. Uh-oh.
Avengers Re-Release And Doomsday Hype
SPEAKER_03Endgame? Yeah, endgame.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, Doomsday, and I'm like, what?
SPEAKER_03They're adding re-releasing Avengers Endgame to make Doom make sense. Yes. Oh boy. Oh boy. This was a Feige decision, wasn't it?
SPEAKER_02Recon and the Crusoe Brothers decision since they made both movies. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Well, I'm not totally against it because even you said this movie has to be focused on Doom. Because they couldn't they couldn't just release the.
SPEAKER_04It's gonna be Captain America. Oh yeah, because he's back.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it's gonna good be adding on to his buddy's back. Of course he's back.
SPEAKER_02Depending on which leak strip you're believing, there's a reason they're gonna have cap with another scene in the end game to justify dunes.
SPEAKER_04It's not cap though.
SPEAKER_03Maybe that's been rubber. You cannot confirm or deny. Man, I'm gonna tell you about that because I've seen some leaked footage. I swear it was I swear to god that shit was real. But it was meme, it was meme because Cap shows up. Cap's all about suiting up and shit. Motherfucker is on the poster in a t-shirt. Yeah, I'm Cap. I got my tech t-shirt on to show off my muscles. Come on, Chris. Come on, get the suit on.
SPEAKER_00Is that gonna be your thing the entire movie? Put the suit on. Put the suit on.
SPEAKER_05It's not gonna take it off. It's it's put the suit on.
SPEAKER_04Put it on. Put it on. Oh my god, yeah. I think here's the thing with Doomsday though. You're probably gonna be able to pick it apart, story-wise, maybe.
SPEAKER_03But that movie is gonna live on nostalgia. They're bringing back the fucking X-Men. That movie is gonna just l and X Men. And probably Toby McGuire again. People are gonna go.
SPEAKER_02Just kill him the first five minutes.
SPEAKER_03They will not kill him. Even if they do, they're bringing them back and see the rewards anymore. Because I heard the rumor was they're gonna reunite the Spider-Man again and see, of course. And they're gonna add a fourth Spider-Man. It's it's Jay. He's dreading that day, but the time's coming. Because Tom wants him in there too.
SPEAKER_00Miles Morris. He doesn't want to play Spider-Man forever, even though he'd love to.
SPEAKER_03He is very weird with that. There's in interviews, it seems like he does want to play. By the way, that that is the rumor that the per other person that remembers who Spider-Man is is Cat.
SPEAKER_04Well, the only c other person that somehow remember him is dead.
SPEAKER_02Well, nobody should that's still in his universe.
SPEAKER_05Oh. Is his universe his universe anymore?
SPEAKER_04Technically. As of right now it is.
SPEAKER_03I I don't know after Doctor Strange anymore. Cumberbatch was confirmed for Doomsday. Yes, no. I'm trying to remember. No? No. Yeah, these are the ones that was left off. Now they're depending on Lord's leak sure for it. You read he's in the movie. They don't know what to do with his character arc anymore now that they gave him the Dark Hulk. Dark. What that hook. The fucking comic needs to get out of my head. Because I love it so much. I didn't care, but now I'm like, you bring Wanda back. Because Wanda's new run as sorcerer's super. She doesn't want to play the character. It's one of my favorite comics I read. Now I love her new comic. She's moved on. She doesn't want to play the character anymore.
SPEAKER_00After her show, she is like, why'd you do this? And in the movie, they made her her villain. Just straight a villain. Her motivation. I want to see my kids.
SPEAKER_03Good movie, but underwhelming.
SPEAKER_00I mean, it's a very mother motivation, but still.
SPEAKER_03I don't know. Like I said, who was gonna live on fucking nostalgia? Got the X-Men. I'm a little disappointed because, like Matt said, it's half the fucking team. It's a lot of the major ones, but I'm like, where is Gene? Where's my very tall red-headed goddess? Where's she at, bro? No.
SPEAKER_00She's gonna be about 16 years old, apparently.
SPEAKER_03And already existing in 616. Classic Gene. Famki Jansen or whatever. What's her name? I need her name. Voice actor? No, who played Jean in the old X-Men movies. There it is. Love her. She was that was Gene. Femkey Jensen. Yep. Janet. Janet. Jansen. Famkee Jansen. Yeah. They asked her, not, she said she's not in it. She may be lying, but they all I don't I don't think she's calling a garp field audio. You've heard you see Sentinels though. The theory is a a chunk of the X-Men are dead. Because Sentinels got them.
SPEAKER_02So you're left with five.
SPEAKER_04Five? First class?
SPEAKER_03You got Professor X Magneto, Hank, Scott Hops. Nightcrawler. Nightcrawler. Six.
SPEAKER_01Yep. Unless.
SPEAKER_03No, but no, he's not really. The Ryan Reynolds' involvement is still a mystery if Deadpool's gonna show up. And so is Wolverine's. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04There's a theory I read though that didn't make sense to me.
SPEAKER_03Because again, I've heard conflicting reports about we know the rumor at the opening scene is Toby's universe, and he's fighting the X-Men with his reformed villains as his team. But there's supposed to be a spat in there between, because they want to get in it between Hugh Jackman's Wolverine, and I'm like, that don't make sense. What are you talking about? Like the X-Men or Deadpool and Wolverine Wolf? That don't make sense to me. I'm confused. What Wolverine is there with them X-Men? I unless I don't know. That was weird to me, but they're gonna have a fight. But I've also heard that Toby's universe is gonna get destroyed, but Deadpool and Wolverine are the ones that grab him out and Loki before it gets destroyed, so he's not dead. I've heard multiple things. Because Loki's gonna be saving people. I know he's gonna be doing stuff. Until he dies. They won't kill Loki.
SPEAKER_02They are gonna kill Loki. They're gonna kill this Loki, but he's still gonna be. They're gonna use Loki as plastic man? Or whoever the thing was in Secret Wars. Molecule Man?
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Yeah. That's what Doom uses to get all of his fucking power. Doom's gonna kill Loki to gain his power. Well, of course they gotta do God Doom.
SPEAKER_02That's how they're gonna do the Secret Wars. Yeah. He's gonna kill Loki to take his powers so that he can build Battle World. And then but Ventom Hills.
SPEAKER_03Well they already talked about incursions, so.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_03Well, the big cast or see they gotta. No, they there have been rumors of that.
SPEAKER_00It makes the most sense to bring Maestro into the films, then.
SPEAKER_03Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_00Because you remember how he each he gave each of them a certain area. Yeah. Which means we're probably gonna get Killmonger as the Black Panther again.
SPEAKER_03Me. That was gonna come back. Michael B. Jordan was still the logical choice, but they killed him in the movie. So they couldn't, but that was the logical choice to take up the role. But they killed him in the movie, and they give us that stupid hallucination fucking flashback of him with Shiri and Wilkhan.
SPEAKER_00Was it hallucination? She took the Black Panther. His spirit. Yeah, well he was connected to the Panther. Yeah. Whatever the fuck that flower is called.
SPEAKER_03Walk on for our first episode. That was such a mid movie. I mean, I don't know. Like I said, I'm still thinking, well, Matt, that's one Madden said he has hope for Doomsay, which you don't hear Matt say that much. It's always neutral, but he said he has hope unless it's cheap. You know what this leads us into? Villain portrayals.
SPEAKER_05Because you guys never told me how the hell you came up with our top 10 list for this movie. Either.
SPEAKER_03This was mine. Because Matt, we're talking about villains again. We've never we have talked about villains, but never portrayals of villains. It's more so for the actors. The only other thing I had was anime talk.
SPEAKER_01Well, we can go on to that out after that.
SPEAKER_03I'm having a good time with this one. This one's a good one. I like this. We're doing good here. God, not a lot of my traditional ones, slime, which is still going. Yeah, but slime counted towards last season. Yeah. Black ports would be my main big new one. That's one of the big new ones. I enjoy that one. That's a manga right now, so I'm
Anime Watch List And What’s Worth It
SPEAKER_03happy it's finally getting a thing. Ghosts in the Shell is kind of like a reimagination, so I don't know if I can count that, but I've been watching that one. I know the basics of Mashuko Tensai, but I ain't watched yet because I'm still looking for my dub, but it will be coming probably tomorrow. Who knows, whatever his schedule is.
SPEAKER_00Have you tried to uh exile the heavy knife?
SPEAKER_03No. I have I that's that's when I started reading that one. I'm not a big fan of the animation yet. Yeah, animation can come and go. How about I became a legend?
SPEAKER_05No, that that title is very long time.
SPEAKER_02I became a legend after my 10-year exile, basically. I'm watching that one. That was actually kind of fun.
SPEAKER_05Or how about another simple one?
SPEAKER_03The Cat and the Dragon. That's the one I just recommended to him. Yeah. That one's actually very fun. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02That one is fun.
SPEAKER_03World's strongest rear guard.
SPEAKER_02Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_03And oh, the one I was excited about for a while is out.
SPEAKER_05The Frontier Lord. Zero subject begins with zero subjects.
SPEAKER_03I told I literally told him that's just Valiant. Or how about this one? One that we both recommended to him. Tomb Raider King. That one you need to isn't that getting. That's it. If it's popular, it gets a dub quick. They usually always get right now. It's just sub. So which means doing the two-way thing, unfortunately.
SPEAKER_02It'll have it. It'll have because it has two. I told you I I don't know how to feel about Kaiju Girl.
SPEAKER_03I haven't watched a single episode of it's it it it's it's not great. No. It's an interesting premise, but it's too much of a love story. I knew that was coming. It's too much of a love story. Not enough kaiju. Well, it's basic her kaiju is basically Hull. Like that's how she transforms.
SPEAKER_02She's she gets too much emotional and then also. Gets emotional too much in the lovey dovey feels, and that's when she turns into the kaiju.
SPEAKER_00So it's red.
SPEAKER_03No, it's it's it's black Godzilla. Oh, did you do you remember?
SPEAKER_00Praising. Do you remember the movie Red? With the panda? It's like that. Yeah. It gets emotional, she turns into a big red panda.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_03So it's like except that entire movie is a period joke.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Oh god. But I'm just saying her transformation works the same way.
SPEAKER_03Yes. Except it's only the lovey dovey feels, not an over exertion of emotion. It's only the lovey dovey feels. At least right now it is. It started out as anger. Now it's now shits full transformation anytime she feels lovey-dovey. Stop talking.
SPEAKER_04Anger. Now it's lovey dovey.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Well, anger is only causing partial transformations. So I guess it is a form of extreme emotion. It's just the strongest one's the lovey dovey right now.
SPEAKER_05Also it is just strong emotion. Whatever is the strongest one.
SPEAKER_03It's causing some form of transformation, but the full transformation is only for the lovey duffy stars. Stop yeah. I'll stick to the red.
SPEAKER_04I like that movie more than I should have.
SPEAKER_03One, I don't know if it's gonna get another season, but I love the take of a livid lady's guy to getting even. It does the classic. She's engaged to the prince who's going to become king. King falls out of revenge. Prince falls in love with somebody else, divorces her, does something to former ex. And she decides she's heading up with this kingdom and gets tricked, right? And goes to another kingdom and exact revenge on this female. I love the work that it's taking.
SPEAKER_04Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_03If you wanted a mango one, there's draw this, then die. Draw this, then die. That one also sounds familiar. It's a bunch of kids getting involved wanting to draw anime. Oh boy.
SPEAKER_00Oh yeah. Just just telling everybody, yeah. This is what it takes to be a part of anime. Yep. You have to sell your life away. Yep.
SPEAKER_03Sparks of tomorrow is one you might like. Sparks of Tomorrow? Sparks of Tomorrow. It's a Netflix one, actually. Oh well, that would explain me having a fucking site for it. It isn't on our is it is on our site.
SPEAKER_04Netflix.
SPEAKER_03I hate that it fucking changed it. I used to the bar on top of my phone. Now it's on the bottom.
SPEAKER_02I'd be interested in if to see if you'd watch the ogre's bride, but I don't think it's one you'll necessarily enjoy.
SPEAKER_03Uh I'll I'll watch just about here's the thing with me. I'll watch just about anything, but how much if I like it or not? If I'm liking it, I'm watching it. If I'm if I'm kind of whatever with it, I'm scrolling on my phone during it, so I'm not. It's kind of we have Clovita season two. Love that.
SPEAKER_02Old Country Mumpkin?
SPEAKER_03Yep. Yep.
SPEAKER_02Kind of sad. That's a that's getting sane there you go.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I got was there an episode two of that year? Yep. Okay. I checked a couple nights ago, there wasn't up yet. I was like, oh, not up yet.
SPEAKER_04I got both no Vox Machina.
SPEAKER_03No Mighty Nine. I'm hoping they've said maybe Mighty Nine by the end of the year. Maybe. Yeah, but you get three both both new Reachers before you get any of that. Oh my god. Jay, two Reachers this year, kinda. Yes. With a spinoff end of the show. Yep. Yep. I'm gonna watch Neely too. Fuck yeah. Reacher's in it.
SPEAKER_04He's just a side character.
SPEAKER_03And Alan said that there is this is there's some of the most best action a series has ever done is in this season, apparently. Some of the biggest action they've done is in this season.
SPEAKER_04I'm like, yes. Yes. But the problem is I can't binge it because it's only one episode of weekend, son of a bitch.
SPEAKER_01Remember, Jay? Remember? Dean, have you watched Vox Mackin? No.
SPEAKER_03I binged Reacher. Jay. I knew that was coming. Action, action, action, action. Dude, I get that in Vox Market too. And I get good comedy in Vox Mocket. I get a lot of shit in Box Machine. I miss, I miss the crew because they've been playing out games now. Like, oh what if they what have they been playing? Daggerhurt, Age of Umber.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, which I haven't watched any of y'all.
SPEAKER_03You know, oh, they're like, I ain't watching none of that. You're like, I don't watch that one right away.
SPEAKER_02No, I just couldn't get into it. I tried. I went tone deaf to it and was like, well, I guess I'm not watching this then.
SPEAKER_03Well, where you're like, it's on, but you ain't paying one lick of attention to it.
SPEAKER_02Nope. What is that? Because I like because Laura's in it and Jennifer English is in it. And unfortunately, the problem with Jennifer English is all I hear is Shadow Heart. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03That's unfortunate, an unfortunate side effect of. Oh, I'm gonna have to I'm gonna have to send that picture and get you to think because she's gonna be at the MinnesotaCon. Me and Jay are gonna go too. And I'm gonna go out and get Peter.
SPEAKER_02She decided to turn on a roll because of health reasons.
SPEAKER_03Oh no!
SPEAKER_02So I go get my foxight. Oh yeah. Oh, what's the looking at now? It's not the end of the season, so I didn't expect a long thing on anime, but.
SPEAKER_03No. There's a lot coming back. I mean, Sakamoto Days is gonna get another season at some point pretty quick.
SPEAKER_02Soul Leveling's getting a movie.
SPEAKER_05What? Sakamoto Days.
SPEAKER_03The manga is almost done. They're doing a solo leveling one too. This isn't gonna flourish. Yeah, you you would know. I want to ask, is that be canon or not? Well, I think I've heard differing reports on that. Are you talking about the two solo movies that are coming out? Yeah, I was asking.
SPEAKER_02Well, if I'm I want to know. I haven't seen enough the trailer didn't reveal enough to justify if it is canon. Oh. But I the next arc is actually very short where he finds out what the Shadow Monarch is. So that made sense to do into a movie.
SPEAKER_06Okay.
SPEAKER_02So I wasn't opposed to that. Right. But then you get into the up the the Shadow Monarch versus the other monarchs, which is the final act.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. I was just wondering, because you never know what some of a movie they just be random shit. Like the slime movie me and Jay watched. That was just fine, but random. Somebody put it all in YouTube so I've seen it. Had nothing to do with almost anything, but still fine. Nope. Because then you go right back to the anime, like, huh?
SPEAKER_04What the fuck?
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_03Well, to be fair, you haven't had a lot of God. Who would be the only one that would be talking about the events of the movies? Oh, me and Jay were still that was a movie about Gabka. I had no problem with that. The love story with Gabta. Gotta's been in a grand total of maybe two episodes of the season, so you've had little interaction to justify him talking about it. Man, new season that I got a new new character that's climbing up my list of favorites. I like Yuki. Bro, just I ain't been under your control. I've been acting this whole time. Fucking great. Like one thing Jay agrees with me on was slime. I'm pretty sure I will only watch double slime because I'm so attached to Rimaru's voice. So God, that's the thing.
SPEAKER_00My dumbass. I let this shit play out. I was like, oh, I'm already watching it sometimes. I may as well continue. God, that makes sense.
SPEAKER_03I like being two weeks ahead of you. See if I that made me sound so sus. I said I love Rimaru's voice, and I'm like, wow, wow. What?
SPEAKER_00The fact that it's a androgynous slime in the show doesn't help you. Nope. Considering he views himself as male. The only thing that does help you is you said you love the voice. Yeah. It's a woman.
SPEAKER_05And anyone who knows anything about the show, about the English voice actor at the very least, because you said you only watch Dub, knows it's a female.
SPEAKER_04Bini Kamaski. I let her. So you're good there. Oh man. However, me and him. Dude, you love a dude. It's a family. Just to fuck with you. It's a family. You're wearing your colors on your shirt.
SPEAKER_03That's what basically can explain it however you want, man, but those things could be slimes. Oh, fabulous. A slime can be whatever you want, just like a ditto. And I'm so sick of seeing the goddamn ditto memes. Ditto turn into this. What? Dean, you would be a ditto trainer. Okay. Turn into this wife. Yeah. Ditto. Oh man. It's gonna have those beady eyes, though. You won't get the actual thing. Oh boy. It'll have the body and you'll be fine with that. The eyes are just the beady looking.
SPEAKER_00Can't you do the eyes right too? No.
SPEAKER_04Ditto. Ditto.
SPEAKER_03Oh god. I guess he might as well go. I guess we can go into our top our list, our ten. The return of top ten. Because it's been a bit. We ain't done it in a while, I swear. It's been a couple episodes. We haven't had a good reason to. Because we ain't had nothing.
SPEAKER_04The
Top 10 Villain Portrayals Kickoff
SPEAKER_04what? Look at shit falling out. Look at Styrophone, but I don't know where it's coming from.
SPEAKER_05That ghost in the attic. That goes. Because apparently Jesus is in the basement. Jesus was up there. He'd handled that, whatever that was. Yeah, you know, most people keep their Christmas stuff towards heaven.
SPEAKER_04Close to you, apparently.
SPEAKER_02We keep the Christmas stuff downstairs where the village goes.
SPEAKER_03Where the village goes. It makes sense. Our top ten is top ten villain portrayals in fiction. From fiction. From fiction. Stop saying in. In in fiction.
SPEAKER_02That means we're in in fiction means we're talking about the books.
SPEAKER_03No, no, no, no. I don't I read some books, but God. That would God talk about.
SPEAKER_00Yes, he's the only person who brought a book to the podcast.
SPEAKER_03Read books? Books are in my room where they belong. I bring one, and it has become a mic stand. The Odyssey is a mic stand. The expensive Odyssey book is now a mic stand. Hell yeah.
SPEAKER_04Good book. Good book. Who's going first?
SPEAKER_03I think Jay's gonna. I got it downstairs. I think Jay's gotta go first because he he apparently is tens funny. That's true. You did you did open with that?
SPEAKER_05I'll give you that. Alright, fine. I'll give you I say this name and you're not even gonna know who the fuck it is. Oh god. Captain Maximilian Morton.
SPEAKER_04Known as the Shepherd. Huh? That's what I thought. You gotta. Do you remember the Kingsman movie?
SPEAKER_00Do you remember the actual villain of that movie? The Kingsman.
SPEAKER_03We're talking Rasputin. Kingsman? Rasputin was not the villain. He was a lackey. No, I pissed you off. I know that. I'm just saying the King's Man, Ras Putin movie. That's the one you're talking about? Okay. Yeah. So he's talking about the main guy. The actual villain.
SPEAKER_05Oh, okay. You know, I told you exactly why he made my list.
SPEAKER_00Oh god. One, he had that leader-esque quality, you know, that somebody manipulating everything from the background that you did not fucking expect, even though he was out in the goddamn open the entire time.
SPEAKER_03Right.
SPEAKER_00And then his accent got us. Not the fucking accent. You did too. You laughed your ass off too as soon as he spoke in his real language. Oh my god. The first time ever we heard someone of that nature, not a serpent although he used a serp to start a war.
SPEAKER_04Yes.
SPEAKER_00Do something like that. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. So he became a favorite just off of that a little bit. Okay, that's good.
SPEAKER_04Not to mention where he put his freaking base. Top of a mountain nobody can get to. Yep. With a bunch of fucking sheep. Who's his death in the back?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah, yeah. Very expensive sheep. Yeah. I thought that was a pretty good. I thought I was prepared for a throwaway, James. I no, no, no. It was a throwaway. My number 10's the biggest throwaway.
SPEAKER_01So it was a throwaway in just the fact that it wasn't necessarily his portrayal that made him make the list. That's why it's a throwaway. Oh yeah. Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_03Good one. Very good. Whereas the rest of the list, now those would be portrayals. You're like purely portrayal. Like those ones are good. Good, good. Number 10, I had a hard time. This list I had a very fucking hard time doing. You did it? You seemed happy with it for as quick as you did it. You're like, okay, they're done. Bumble.
SPEAKER_00This wasn't quick at all. I was doing it during the movie, thinking about it. I was before the movie, in the car. Jay was gonna put I started in the car.
SPEAKER_03He was gonna put Pattinson on there from Odyssey. Oh, I'll put you on it. Ready for my top ones? I should have put Pattenson on there from the drama. Dean probably would have agreed with that. That whole movie was a villain. No, well, I gotta stop. It wasn't that. It just didn't give me what I wanted. It didn't get that wing shot up. God, I sound so bad, son. It sounded like you said wang shot up. No, I don't want that. I don't want that.
SPEAKER_04That's not good. That's not that's not good. You want it, just not here.
SPEAKER_00Oh all right. So are we going on to human then met?
SPEAKER_02All right.
SPEAKER_03Save the units for last because this is his topic anyway. Makes sense to me. My cop out ends. Say that for a hair. I didn't add her to the list.
SPEAKER_04I'm talking about special channels. I'm talking about something else.
SPEAKER_03The dinosaurs from Jerome Support.
SPEAKER_00Hey! Hey! We're not villains. That was. They were not. He almost made the list. But I was like, he wasn't actually a villain enough for me to have a lot of people. That's why the dinosaurs were at least going around. Because they weren't villains.
SPEAKER_03They were just fulfilling their nature. You done? Yes. I know. That was your cop out. That was my thought audience. Like I said, I came up with Y10 before I came up with most of my other ones. You know what scene from that fucking Jurassic Park always lives in my head just because how memeed it was? I forgot his name, but no. What was the name of the dude, the big fat guy, when he went to talking? Well, I know that was his name. The guy he was talking to. When he was like, Well, look, so-and-so is here, so-and-so. No one cares. See? No one cares. His name and a guy he was talking to. Oh, remember his name? Guy Donson. Donson? That's the one. The one who gave him the fucking. Donson? Yeah. Look at Dodson. We got Dotson here. See, nobody cares. Then he becomes the villain in that world three. Nobody cares. I actually kind of like that callback. But I didn't see enough. What the fuck are those called? The the the shaving cream in the third movie, though. You know what I think though? I can't remember if you guys agree or not. It's kind of the redheaded step. No, no, three is no two. The one I really love is 50-50. I love The Lost World with Goldblum, the second Jurassic Park. I love that movie and it's 50-50. I was like, three is the one everyone hates. No one likes they hate it, but everyone has something that lives rent-free in their heads.
SPEAKER_01Got that fucking phone. Kirby Paint Tile Plus. Why does this shit you're right?
SPEAKER_02R.I.P. Samuel.
SPEAKER_03Yes. Uh-huh. He was sick. Well, he got over it. He got over the cancer and customer.
SPEAKER_00It was also the first movie to release dinosaurs into the world and introduce us to the concept that we have technically from Jurassic World. And even though they made a new theme park anyway.
SPEAKER_03And I hope the God, the line was improvised. I would expect him to hopefully improvise it, but the first Jurassic Park gave me such a great line that describes movies and everything. That is one big pile of shit. Yes. But they spared no expense.
SPEAKER_04That is one big pile. Oh my god.
SPEAKER_03Like I told you, somebody is are gonna be like, whoa, whatever. I I love my movies. I got a lot. Here like number my number three and number one will break in. Pretty sure my list is just gonna throw them for a fucking loop. I'm curious if you oh no, I'm curious. No, you ain't gonna guess it. No, you might be able to narrow it down. He might be upset at my number nine. I'm telling you, I'm gonna tell you the actor for ten. I'm curious. Actor is Daniel DeLuz. Well shit. You know, you know what? I didn't name the actor. Matthew Good. This is more so for the I have the actor first and then the Because we're doing a villain protection.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, neither one of us. I have the I decided the fucking dinosaur, so how are you gonna name an actor?
SPEAKER_03Everybody else, I have their character in parentheses because it's more so is that how we should do it? Do we do the actor's name and then Because you're doing the they're the one that did the portrayal? So and so's portrayal of the. See, I don't know if anyone has seen this movie besides me. Because it's under because people would think of There will be blood, first off. He's kind of the villain in there, but that's a very up there movie. But no, William Cutting from Gangs of New York. I I love that movie. I can't I don't know if anyone has seen it, though. That's the problem. It's a Scorsese movie New York, it's a Scorsese movie. Yes. I like that movie so much because that movie. It's a historical movie, but it is so well and I swear to you. It made my list. It is so it made your list? Yes. Gangs in New York.
SPEAKER_00Can you guess where it is? Well on my list. What? It's up there. Who from Daniel De Luthers.
SPEAKER_04Same one? Yes. Bill the butcher. For what? Surprised. Let's go. Can you guess where he's at? I don't know.
SPEAKER_03Three? Oh yeah. I'm just surprised. I I again, I think I'm the only one that's seen that motherfucker. No. I've watched that six or seven times.
SPEAKER_00Because if you go downstairs, sometimes more, but it's another one of those longer movies.
SPEAKER_03Everyone can see the gigantic cluster of Blu-rays down there. I've seen a shit ton. So it's I just because I don't have the collection does not mean I don't watch. That does not mean I don't watch. That's because I'm a fan of physical media. I am more so a pirate. But no. Keep putting that on the internet, somebody's gonna come after me. I enjoy that movie and the portrayal so much because it's it's very true to how the world is now. He's playing a guy that don't like immigrants. See, here's the hero. Native, the natives. And it's when I when I based the the he's a true guy. He really exists, and he's it's based on a true period of time. When I first draft the Civil War draft riots.
SPEAKER_00When I first watched that movie, I didn't view him as a villain.
SPEAKER_04That's 50-50.
SPEAKER_00Because up until now, I never really viewed him as a villain.
SPEAKER_05I had to really go off of especially now in the times we live in, immigrants are the fucking bane of existence, you know. Yep, yep.
SPEAKER_03Him being a villain. Yep, yep, yep. And back then, you want to know the funniest thing about that? Now it's minorities and people of different colors and stuff. A lot of immigrants, but in that movie, the they were discriminatory against Irish Catholics coming over here. Like, get the fuck out of here. And they were white as snow.
SPEAKER_00Is that the first movie you've seen? Uh fuck, what is his name?
SPEAKER_03The The Policeman. Oh god, there's the Cyclops. That's the puppet they used. The police? I would be afraid of that fucking falling on me. There's a cat, there's a cast in there too. Police, John C. Riley's in there. Yes, John C. Riley. John C Riley's in there. Might have been. DiCaprio's the Lead, Amsterdam, Vallum. Oh fuck. It's a score. It's a score saying I. Was loaded. I love Scorsese. I do. And the only thing I don't like about it. Is that nothing about memes for this movie coming up now? 1998, save Matt Damon, saving Private Ryan. 2014, find Matt Damon. Interstellar. 2015, rescue Matt Damon.
SPEAKER_02The merchant. Okay. 2026, Matt Damon saved himself.
SPEAKER_03Oh my god. All right. That's my 10. I can talk about that for I didn't expect. I did not expect to share that one. That's one I was like, there you go. Wow. I'm surprised, sir. I was kind of my head.
SPEAKER_00That's up there on my list. And I shit. Well, when I say you're like, you got any kidding.
SPEAKER_03And you had it down. I'm like, god damn. All right.
SPEAKER_05Fuck.
SPEAKER_03That doesn't normally happen. That doesn't matter. Well, I'm usually flipped. I'm the one that has them ridiculously high. Yeah. It's still 10.
SPEAKER_00That did it beat out a lot of good ones. I know. Like I said, this list was hard for me, so I was like, fuck. I have that hired. Anyway, because we're doing names first. Guy Pierce.
SPEAKER_03I don't think you're going to guess what fucking role, though. Invented a lot of shit.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Fernand Monego. The Canta Monte Cristo. There it is. Nigo Mantoi. And you cured my father. And you murdered my father. Prepare to die. Uh-huh. I gave you that. You said that. You love that movie. You gave me that one. That one you gave me. You know how much I love that. You gave me that one. I didn't even. I was just saying a random line to get the get and you said it's like, oh, yes. Yap about that for a second.
SPEAKER_02Christian Bale puts on 8,600 pounds for the role of the one-eyed giant cyclops and Christopher Nolan's The Eye.
SPEAKER_00Stop dodging. Kept his whole costume from Thor Ranger out, didn't he?
SPEAKER_05I've loved every iteration of the Count of Monte Cristo that's come out since I've watched when the hell did that movie release? The 2000 something?
SPEAKER_04The Count. If I can even fucking spell it. 2002. That's a long ass time ago.
SPEAKER_03A long ass time ago. You know what a funny thing doing research? I was only 12. People wouldn't be surprised to hear Daniel Day Lewis, because there's a lot of people I consider him one of the greatest actors living ever. Like I said, there will be blood, is arguably people think his best role, but there's other ones.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, but we're doing personal lists. Like I had a criteria I didn't want to list anyone twice. I I tried really hard at that because there is one on here right at the top of number one who could have been listed multiple times.
SPEAKER_03I hope to God my top two are not oh boy. If people know me, they probably know who they are. My next one's gonna make him laugh.
SPEAKER_02I mean, if it's any of the three that we talked about, then no.
SPEAKER_03My number my number that was my number nine. I broke one rule. I actually don't have ties, but my one of mine has an actor, but for two rules. Because I would not pick between the two. That's the only thing I'll say.
SPEAKER_02Number nine. James Saito and David McCarran as the shredder TMNT.
SPEAKER_03I can't be mad at that.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_03I didn't even think of that. I didn't expect that one.
SPEAKER_00Comic book. I'm kind of mad. Godbook! No, I'm kind of mad that you went T you went Jurassic Park, you went T MNT. It feels like you're doing my list that I should have done. I went too hard on myself.
SPEAKER_04It was one of my comic books.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I went way too hard on myself. Because my next one is literally the only superhero.
SPEAKER_03I've got two other comic books in here.
unknownYep.
SPEAKER_03It's one of my three. That's a good one. That's a good one. You're like, it's shredder. I ain't gonna talk about shredder.
SPEAKER_05I don't think no, all right. Best live action shredder we have.
SPEAKER_03Number nine is very is very new, but it it stuck with me. Again, I'll say the actor, Jack O'Connell. Matt's like. So which one are you picking? Remick. That was that is probably my favorite portrayal of a vampire. I just you you love the dance scene. The man turned Irish jig and put 808. That was Kugler, but they put 808s in an Irish jig and fucking gave it aura. Done. Do you know how popular that song became just because of it? It comes in on a card once in a while. Road to Dublin has not been popular since. Oh, he was the early thing. He was acting because of Bone Temple, because he was the villain in there, too. He was also very good, but one remick. Remick was just different. Yeah, but you're not also not a fan of that guy he was portraying. We heard tale of a party. He also gave me many lies. Yep. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Semi.
SPEAKER_05Oh, I'll I'll let you guess on the next one. I can say this guy's name, and you don't even have to wonder who it is. David Tennant.
SPEAKER_00Can you guess which one?
SPEAKER_03Purple Man.
SPEAKER_05Yes.
SPEAKER_03Kilgrave. Dave got Jim's a good job. He knows that's the one. I adore that show. I adore that show. That's why I got excited.
SPEAKER_05I've wanted him to come back so many times.
SPEAKER_03I adore that fucking show. I adore that show.
SPEAKER_05He was so popular he came back as a fucking hallucination in three seasons.
SPEAKER_02The issue actually, I have more with him. He hasn't played as many villains as he's voiced. Yes. He's voiced a lot more villains.
SPEAKER_05Yes. That was hard to choose. And I copped out at Kilgrave because it's the most recent one in memory. It's a good choice.
SPEAKER_03I my as great as Daredevil was, Jessica Jones's show is over. Jessica Jones's show. You've heard him voice one recently. Yes, yes, yes. Jessica Jones's show gets overshadowed by Daredevil. Was it a dragon? He was one of the dragons. Yes. The fucking color.
SPEAKER_02To be honest, nah.
SPEAKER_03The only show, the only edge. I think he was he's Voragal or Umbersol. The only Umbersol. The only Anch. He's Voragal. Okay. The only ass show that came out of the Defenders was Iron Fish Show. And he's getting a second chance. He's coming back, too. It's coming back. You know, I don't mind that. Because like I said, because he was by leaps and balance, my least favorite show. I love Daredevil. I adore Jessica Jones. I like Luke Cage. And that's where we'll go with that. That was my number eight. Jay's like 10 first. There'll be time for bullshit at the end. Good. Let me cut you off right there. We can do that at the end.
SPEAKER_00Number eight, Matt.
SPEAKER_03Jude Law. Okay. We love some Jude Law. One of the most legendary seating hairlines I've ever seen. You got your guess where he's coming from, Dean. God damn it. That's where I said I wanted you to guess. I ain't got it. I don't think I have it either. I'm picturing a lot of Jude Law stuff right now.
SPEAKER_05My comment is still when I think of Jude Law. I don't know why, but the only film that comes to mind, he's not a villain. Oh.
SPEAKER_03Sherlock Holmes. That's right. He's he's not sure, I'm a dragon, but he's not either of those two. Oh. He's Brimsythe, the first dragon in the first couple episodes of the actual series. He's the blue dragon. Well, we both fucked up. I forgot how old the I forgot how old the role was. It's Batman long. No, I don't want you to look it up. I don't I want you to remember it, cheater. I I didn't see nothing though. Uh if you don't have a guest, it's fine. And I don't have a guest. Because it's I'm gonna. I probably like the movie though. Oh, I know you like the movie. Me and you were the minority on liking this movie. What was it? Okay, now you gotta say it.
SPEAKER_02King Vortigan, King Arthur King, and Legend of the Sword. Oh, you dick.
SPEAKER_03That's what you meant about me holding off on the round table? Yes. Is that the fucking Charlie Hunnam one? Yeah. Yes. Nah, yep, yep. Me, we all we all are the minority. Yeah. Charlie Hunum Glazer. No, that's surprised. You know what came in first? Even though he's not in there, but when I when people talk about minority about liking movies, one of the big ones, a lot of people didn't like the Dracula Untold movie. And I fucking love that movie. That's one of my big minority ones.
SPEAKER_02I literally said that's probably my favorite Dracula, but he's not a villain in that movie.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah. Yeah, that's his origin. Swiping Vlad the Impaler.
SPEAKER_00Vlad was he? He was brutal. Some of us should have mentioned Nosferatu.
SPEAKER_03Oh god.
SPEAKER_02I I told him my honorable mention is technically portrayed as a villain, but he's not the villain in the movie. And that was V V for V for Vendetta. Yes.
SPEAKER_05He's a villain to the government.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_05But I have no problem with that.
SPEAKER_03Jude Law is just. I bought him as the corrupt king trying to learn magic, and he I like that role. I was not mad at it, any means.
SPEAKER_00Number 1.
SPEAKER_03Okay. Okay. This one is gonna be an obvious one.
SPEAKER_00No, it won't.
SPEAKER_03It's it's an obvious one. It's Bill Skazgard. Which villain role? You want it? Pennywise, a dancing club. I left off because it's a little too obvious. The problem with. I'm guessing. Thinking of me and my Stephen King love when I say Pennywise. It honestly, I probably couldn't pick between the two. I love them. He could have gone someone from the Shiner too. Are you talking about Curry from the original? That's the only thing about Skazgard. There are people that are very attached to Curry's Pennywise, even though Bill did phenomenal. But Bill, I didn't watch too much. Here's the thing. Yeah. Bill has more to go on. Yeah. At this point. Yeah. So at this point. And they bring Bill back for the TV. Anyone's going to think of it, but they're going to think of him. Most likely, unless you really watch the old miniseries with Curry. And Curry is a good thing. You would have to be a diehard fan of it.
SPEAKER_02Curry just deals the creepiness of it.
SPEAKER_03Yes. Skarsgard got every got every opportunity with it with CGI too. There's a funny behind-the-scenes video of that because Skarsgard's a very nice guy, and he's working with children in that movie, and he's always like, hey guys, today's thing. You get to beat me up today, guys. But no, I very great, great performance. I love Sky. And I also have some. I love Skazgard. He's in one of my favorite action movies of all time, for God's sakes. Pure Cocaine.
SPEAKER_02Out of all of my ones, I only have two rather obvious ones on here to me.
SPEAKER_05This next one isn't obvious at all. And I'm pretty sure it's going to throw Dean for a loop. I'm going to pull a you. Hey, Dean.
SPEAKER_00Kevin Bacon.
unknownHa!
SPEAKER_00Kevin Bacon. Yep.
SPEAKER_01Kevin Bacon!
SPEAKER_03That's the greatest hero in the universe. What are you talking about? Oh my god. Don't use your phone. No, I'm not. I'm typing something. I don't trust that. Put your phone down. Doing something with the list, but uh Kevin Kevin Bacon is a villain.
SPEAKER_01Where the fuck was Kevin Bacon a villain?
SPEAKER_03Oh, I have something obvious.
SPEAKER_02I just can't get it. I have an option. I have but I don't think that was off of a book, though. It is?
SPEAKER_04It started.
SPEAKER_00Oh boy.
SPEAKER_04And it was taken to a whole new level.
SPEAKER_03I may not be thinking of the right thing either. The one I'm thinking of. Hey, I'll give you a clue, Dean. Wait. John Cena. Nope, not the one I'm thinking of. You said your comic book ones are done. Or no? Yeah, I only had one. Okay. All the rest of the case. Because he was all he was Shaw and X-Men in that first class, and you wouldn't use that. I don't think. I'll tell you, do you want me to tell you what my first guess is Kevin Bacon is a first? Go ahead. Go ahead. R-I-P-D. Nope. I fucking believe it. I know that's why I'm sure I didn't tell the based level book.
SPEAKER_00That's also comic book.
SPEAKER_03It is. It is. Okay, but that's where that's where I might go for villain for Kevin Bacon. Do you want another clue? Sure. He was quite the pervert in this.
SPEAKER_04John Cena, quite the pervert. The first one was a major clue. The second one helped that first clue. The people who are listening to this are probably like, I know, I know what it is. I know what it is. Just off of the list. I have no clue. It is a I give up to it. Technical sci-fi film.
SPEAKER_03That's not sci-fi, John Cena. Sci-fi and John Cena. Is John Cena in the movie? Or is John Cena the club? No, that was just a clue. That was a clue. You can't see. Uh-huh. You can't see. You got where I was going with it. Invisible invisible man? It's kind of. Hold on. Different name. Hollow Man. Hollow Man. Yes. Hollow Man. That was the second one. When you had to say that age, Hollow Man. Now you watch that movie.
SPEAKER_00You don't expect it to be as it is as him being the villain. But God does he pull that off. Being the pervert that he is. Everything he did in that movie was just wow.
SPEAKER_03Yep. Yep. That was a very dark invisible man movie. Yes. And I loved it. They did a that was a pull from hell on that one for me. That was a very it's probably up there. And I knew you weren't going to expect it. I like that one. I also like Lee Winnell's Invisible Man he did a few years back. That was another really good one, too. They've had a lot of good Invisible Man stuff. I think this is the only one that I actually appreciated. Because it was more a more modern take on the Invisible Man. Lee Winnell, though, is on a, he works with James Wann a lot a lot with a lot of the Insidious and he helped make Saw. He's on a little bit of a, he's on a downward people will disappoint in him. He made nothing but good stuff. He's the one that directed the most recent Wolfman that a lot of people didn't like. That was a Lee Winnell movie, and people are disappointed. I wasn't excited for that one. Not the Eggers one that's coming out. I'm sitting there watching that trailer.
SPEAKER_00It's kind of hard because I think me and Dean are actually gonna go see that just for shits. It's also just kind of funny.
SPEAKER_02It's more funny that what's his name? Defoe just decided he was gonna learn Latin.
SPEAKER_03So now he just uses it in every fucking role.
SPEAKER_00Well, I didn't use him as a villain. I wanted to. There's only one.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, there was only one role I was gonna put him as.
SPEAKER_03And Jay's like, no, I know where that I couldn't. This one's probably makes this one really require a little thought. Uh uh. I didn't even say the character's name.
SPEAKER_00I just made Sebastian Cain. I loved his portrayal of Sebastian Cain.
SPEAKER_03It's probably not gonna be your first thought, but you'll figure it out pretty quickly. You go weaving it's not Red Skull.
SPEAKER_04Red Skull?
SPEAKER_03It is Red Skull.
SPEAKER_04It's Red Skull?
SPEAKER_03I didn't I'm based out of the book. Really?
SPEAKER_00Oh. Okay, then it wasn't the Matrix.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, now based out of the book. It's Red Skull. It's Red Skull. Yeah, I'm I I didn't I hesitate because the comic one. He's not I told you, I told you we're probably not gonna be your first guess. Yeah. Well, Red Skull is not gonna be your first guess. It was Yeah. You said you're gonna say that's Red Skull because you said it was because you thought it was gonna be Matrix. That's not a fun. That would have been the option. What I was gonna say earlier, talking about Marvel. Captain America First Avenger is one of the most underrated MC movies. That is a great origin movie.
SPEAKER_02He's arguably my favorite villain Dave Us that didn't turn out to be a good guy, and not Thanos.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah. And I could see it. I could see it. I could see it. They've been consistent with villains. No, lately villains have been hit or miss with Marvel, but they have been. They have the theme of depression, which which returns in two weeks. Depression. That theme just keeps coming back in movies lately.
SPEAKER_00It's like they're pushing it on us. You're all depressed, get over it. Make some friends, get out the house, touch some grass.
SPEAKER_03Okay. This one I'm gonna say the actor. Jay might be able to, but I don't think that will. The actor is Doug Bradley.
SPEAKER_02Name sounds familiar. I don't have a face with that name. Yank of you. I'd have to.
SPEAKER_03I know you I need a face, so I'd have to look at the problem. Pinhead. Hell right. Okay. He almost made the list.
SPEAKER_06What?
SPEAKER_03Dad, I don't expect that one from me. I almost put pinhead on there. I don't expect that from you because I'm such a stan for that franchise. I don't expect one scene from him lives red-free in my head. You solved the box. We came. Now taste up. I was gonna say that's not the part that lives in your head. Oh, please, no tears. That's just a waste of good suffering. Right there. That's the one. Demons to many, angels to some guy just owns every fucking scene. But the problem with the Cenobites and Pinhead, that whole franchise is a bunch of, besides the first couple, it's a bunch of movies that have nothing to do with the Cinnabites. It's a murder mystery that they just throw the Cinnabites in there for 10 minutes and put the word Hellraiser 3 on it or some shit. It's like, can can you do something with the Cinnabites, please, for the whole fucking movie instead of just throwing them into random shit? Like, by God. I love the one they did on Hulu when they re- It wasn't Doug Bradley. It was a good thing.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and you creamed right at the beginning when it said where the box came from. Don't do chatter.
SPEAKER_04You don't do it loud enough anyway.
SPEAKER_03Hell yeah. That's but I I recited the whole fucking scene. It's just fucking, it's great. It shouldn't be comedy to me, but it is.
SPEAKER_04Number six. Number six? Red Foreman made my list.
SPEAKER_00Red Foreman? Kurtwood Smith made my list, but can you guess as who?
SPEAKER_05It's an old ass movie at this point.
SPEAKER_04Oh aye. I mean, I'm in my fucking 30s. That's the reason why I say old dog. Oh boy. Clarence Boniker. Okay. Robocop. Damn, some Robocop.
SPEAKER_00Huh? Got some RoboCop. He did that movie where he gave no fucks and he did this. And guess what? He fucking came back to the next movie as his brain controlling a robot.
SPEAKER_02Yes, yes. Oh, I remember what the other movie was this morning.
SPEAKER_00What?
SPEAKER_02What the other movie trailer that we saw? Yeah. I haven't seen the Rocky trailer yet.
SPEAKER_03Oh. I thought no, I sent it to him. Yep. That'll be one Ryan will want to see. Ryan a Rocky fan? Ryan is the Rocky fan. The Rocky fan.
SPEAKER_00But yeah. I gotta ask. Since I've made it halfway through my list now. What are you thinking? Did I do well this time? I didn't fuck with you guys.
SPEAKER_03It's one of your better lists that's not kind of silly on the. What do you mean other than the number 10?
SPEAKER_01Forgetting Schreiner. It's one of his lists that's forget. I just had a criteria I followed.
SPEAKER_03It's one of his lists that's pretty consistent without being ridiculously silly, even though some of his silly ones he didn't. You only fucked me over on one. He makes them on purpose. I don't ex There is some heavy hitters on mine, but no, I'm not worried about them. No, no, Jay would. If Jay knows me like he does, he probably left some of them off. Like, nope, that's on D. I'm only worried about you tying on
Big Names, Hot Takes, And Deep Cuts
SPEAKER_03two. Okay. You do not have my number one. I have somebody on my list as an actor that's gonna appear on his. Okay.
SPEAKER_04Alan Rickman.
unknownOh.
SPEAKER_04Alan Rickman. Hans Gruber. Not a book. Hey, what is what is your criteria?
SPEAKER_03They gotta be in a book? Fiction! I based all of mine from book roles that existed.
SPEAKER_02That was where I took my list. That's not where I took my list. That's what I was trying to get him to say.
SPEAKER_00I asked questions. Yeah, and you asked him. If he portrayed it to you.
SPEAKER_03See this thing when you go through him, it doesn't always his things was portrayals from like comic books and live action. Fiction still, but you know, similar, but a little bit, but it's still working. All the vibe are villains from stories. Are from the originally from stories. That's why I don't have Starfall. What'd you say? Alan Rickman. No. It's the not the episode that's never been that we have to do. No. It's not Snape's not a villain. It's not Snape? No. Oh, Snape's not a villain. He's not really a villain. No, he's an anti-hero. He's a technical prince. Okay. He's an anti-hero technically. Okay. Whenever I go to Snape right away. Snape?
SPEAKER_05That's why the first one I said was Hans Gruber.
SPEAKER_03Diehard. If I had to pick between the two roles, he that would have been the bigger villain. But I have to do it from a book. I did mine from a book.
SPEAKER_00No, because Galaxy Quest II is a hero. You're picking my fucking brain as far as Alan Rickman roles and it's soccer.
SPEAKER_03Sheriff and Nottingham.
SPEAKER_01DK. DK. He almost made my list. I'm just share it. Fuck. I'm okay. He wanted to go see the movie, but he was disappointed in it. Death of Robin Hood. That started kind of fire. Yes. Then got boring as shit. He's Matt's nodding like kinda, yeah. I'm like, I can't disappoint.
SPEAKER_03Talking about a movie. So speaking of another movie where you're dealing with the guy's PTSD. Well, there was the one thing I the one what carried that movie after it got boring? Jay kept die. I kept saying it too much. The I'm like level 20 robe. Level 20 rogue. You don't even see him coming. Level 20 rogue. Just Alan Rickman killed his own cousin because it couldn't get Robin, but there you go. Big enough villain. Yep. Well, Robin Everett. That was his number six, Dean. What do you got for us? Halfway through your. You're gonna have to think about this one. No, no. You want another quiz?
SPEAKER_02No, no. My number five is the one I thought might be maybe on your list three times. But I don't think it's the same villain.
SPEAKER_04Okay. Uh the actor.
SPEAKER_03At this point, I can show you and it doesn't matter. Yeah, your number one is the one I think is my next number five. That's not the same role.
SPEAKER_00Okay. I said that actor was gonna do it. What you got for us at six? You're gonna Jack Nicholson. Well, it's not the Joker. Because you prefer somebody else for that role.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_00The shiny. Jack Torrents.
SPEAKER_03Jack Torrents.
SPEAKER_01They're too to be honest. I thought so. Here's Johnny. The problem is Johnny.
SPEAKER_03He played such a when one's what is that? Anytime he plays somebody who goes nuts, he's a great. Here's the thing. Since I took all of my things as from books first, the reason it didn't make the list for me, I haven't read the books. I've had to have read a book in the Borrow from him. I was thinking, I got like three different versions. I have all his books except for Dark Towers. I have to buy them in a box. You've got the box set. Let me read it after you do it.
SPEAKER_00Because I'm actually very interested in that story.
SPEAKER_02That was my rule. Not only were they from books, I had to have read a book from the street.
SPEAKER_03So that's the reason why a lot of these ones aren't on my list for a lot of time. The one thing, just speaking of the betrayal from the movie and how menacing and creepy it was, especially when he went nuts. The only thing, and it's not, this is not a knock on the movie. The movie is classic for its thing, for its for what it is. But in a way, Kubrick did get the character of Jack Torrance a little disservice simply because the whole story of The Shining is the how is Jack getting over alcoholism and all the all his dark past stuff to really try and be a better guy for Wendy and Danny. That's the whole movie. And the movie is about the darkness of this hotel, just tearing a guy who's really trying to do better, tearing him down and tearing him down until he breaks and becomes evil. Kubrick didn't do Torrance's character, Jack Torrance full justice. He went nuts pretty quick, and it didn't show that he's actually a very good guy. That's real not a good guy, but a flawed guy that's really trying to do better. And one thing, the one knock I'll give Dr. Sleep. And they offered him, but he didn't come back in the book, Dr. Sleep. The spirit of Jack Torrance comes back and helps Danny kill Rose the Hat.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_03He was not in the movie, and I adore Dr. Sleep. That's one of my favorite Stephen King adaptations. And they should have had Nicholson in him. He actually asked he denying to be in it because he's too old. He's like, I'm too old. Okay, so yeah.
SPEAKER_05Now we literally are halfway through. Number five. Why am I saying it like Mojo? Watch Mojo.
SPEAKER_03Oh shit. As long as we don't do the honorable mentions before number one, we're fine.
SPEAKER_01Why don't we ever do that? We always do it during the list.
SPEAKER_03It didn't take that long, though. After Matt said after no, it was Jake. Matt's no, it's not Joker. There's another Joker on here. The shining. Jack.
SPEAKER_05Uh Denzel Washington.
SPEAKER_03Denzel. Son of a bitch. Yeah. Denzel. Now, Dean may be proud of this one. The detective from Training Day?
SPEAKER_06Yes.
SPEAKER_01Detective Alonzo Harris. He put a goddamn hood movie on them. That's a goddamn hood movie. I have culture. It doesn't look it, but I do. That's a goddamn hood movie.
SPEAKER_03That's a hood classic. I fucking amaze people with my knowledge. Jay, work. Work. You've seen that? Yeah, good.
SPEAKER_02Technically, he's technically he's the villain in the one with uh Russell Crow too, where he's the mobster too, right?
SPEAKER_03American Gangster. Yes. Yes, that's a very good film. Uh-huh.
SPEAKER_05It was it was actually kind of a hard choice.
SPEAKER_00I I had like I said, this whole list, I gave myself such a big criteria on what it meant as far as portrayals go.
SPEAKER_03None of us have had a bad portrayal. These are all great. Like even Jays are all great. There's no joked ones in there. Even the last one went bad.
SPEAKER_02He's not pulling it from the spirit of where the thing was because he didn't know.
SPEAKER_03No, I went. Okay, this is the most serious list I've ever made. He's like, dumb. He's budget. The reason you had an easier time with the list than like I did was because you weren't going to be.
SPEAKER_00I did not have a fucking easy time with this list. It was hard. I had it took me three days to get mine. I had three on this list before you two started talking and giving me ideas. I bounced off at you two as you were talking.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, you but you've done still done yours in the day. It took me three.
SPEAKER_00I almost had a Western put on here.
SPEAKER_03Nobody would have known what the fuck that one was. Nope. God damn, Western. Dean, I could have had five different Western movies put on here. Johnny Ringo, Tombstone. Where's Jadow, JJ? One of his favorite movies all time. I could have counted that one, but that's more recent that people would have known. I'm talking more John Wayne era. God damn, it's not John Wayne. Oh, Boster Cogburn. Uh-huh. You're gonna name off some of those actors. Let's go. Oh my god. Gene Audit.
SPEAKER_00That is number five for me, just simply because during the whole movie, you you love him, but you hate him at the same time because of what he's doing. Because you understand it's not right.
SPEAKER_04Number five, sir?
SPEAKER_03Mads Mickelson. I told you my. Yeah, he did. Which one? Mads Mickelson? Yeah. It ain't fucking Doctor Strange. How about from what is it? The third Bond film? Hired? What? La Chief? Le Chief? La Chief is La Chief? La Chief is Craig's first movie. First one. Because he was I got scared there. First one? Cinorial is Craig's first one. Yep. That's very. Was he the villain? He was. He was La Chief. He was Le Chief. Yep. Which is a candy. I got scared there. I got scared there because Matt was dangerously close because Mad's played a character. Oh, he's gonna know now. What? Mad's played a character that's very good.
SPEAKER_00Did I not say he's gonna show up on all three of o somewhere?
SPEAKER_03What? Mads. I don't know if he has Mads on there. Mad, no. Mads is not on mine, but you're probably Christoph Walsh. Christoph Wolfs. I didn't like his villain. Who's a grid mastermind, but I didn't like the villain in Spectre. No. Spectre is a very underwhelming movie to me. He likes the more effeminate Sino Royale. Very good. Quantum of Solids, probably the worst one. Whatever. Sky Sky Skyfall.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, Sky.
SPEAKER_03That's a that's your third button bond movie. Yeah. Uh Spectre. Underwhelming. And I love No Time to Die. But they just related to each other. They killed a bond. Holy shit. From the third movie to the first one? All of them are connect related. All of them are connected, technically.
SPEAKER_05I meant the villains themselves being related somehow.
SPEAKER_03No. No. Could there be a bond and a villain? Not supposed. I was wondering. Could there be? Could there be?
unknownNope.
SPEAKER_03Le Sheif.
SPEAKER_02Snow Royale is technically a canon book that they faced.
SPEAKER_05They very rarely do that for the Bond.
SPEAKER_02They didn't do oh, they didn't up until Craig's point mostly.
SPEAKER_05Really?
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Oh that's when they really should be more well received. That's that's when they really started following the books a little bit more.
SPEAKER_03Speaking of, just because it came up, we'll have to at the end for bullshit time. The ru they've started to really rumor cast for Bond now. Yeah. The next Bond. That's really tough. Because they actually officially announced casting.
SPEAKER_00I'm starting to think about it.
SPEAKER_05I can appreciate his list more, considering it's actually quite centered based off of what we just saw.
SPEAKER_00A movie based off a book.
SPEAKER_03Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_00Oh yeah.
unknownShh.
SPEAKER_00I didn't even think about that really till just now. And I'm like, now my list, as serious as I actually took it, feels awful. That's why your mind took me three days.
SPEAKER_03Next.
SPEAKER_05They could have gone further.
SPEAKER_03Do I say no? I should just say the lines. I should just say lines.
SPEAKER_00Go ahead.
SPEAKER_03Or the acronym. Oh no, I'm gonna blow it off the actor. That's what makes you love these portrayals anyway. It's true. Peace has cost you your strength. Victory has defeated you. Ah, you think darkness is your ally. Tom Hardy. Tom Hardy.
SPEAKER_05Tom Hardy almost made the list.
SPEAKER_03Tom Hardy's Bane. You can argue that they hurt his character with him being Talia's bitch boy at the fucking at the end, but ignore that shit. Whoever wrote Bane's fucking lines just understood the character? Right up until the end. I was born in it. Molded by it. I didn't see the light until I was already a man.
SPEAKER_02See, by then it was grinding. There's something wrong with his impersonation.
SPEAKER_03I've seen too many people do it with a cup so it actually sounds better. So if he's just saying, I know. I need a cup. I need a cup.
SPEAKER_00Say it into your can.
SPEAKER_04Ah, you think that?
SPEAKER_03There you go. It's a little better. So at least it's at least 10% better. You're making a serious mistake. Not as serious as yours, I fear. Bro, every line he said, every pup. You knew it was on my Jay. There it is. Jay Wort Dean worships that fucking. And I assume we know most of your remaining four. League of shadows. Jaden hate it. He just states what they did at the end. Like I hate that ending. That tolly as shit was not.
SPEAKER_00Nolan! Nolan!
SPEAKER_03Two of my remaining four are easy. Two of them are hard. Nolan time. It's Nolan time. Oh no. Don't ever make that a thing. What?
SPEAKER_00It's Nol, it's Nolan time. Uh because then he's gonna get a meme the same as fucking what's his name from Transhomer's why Nolanization is like Nolan.
SPEAKER_03I guess it is. No, I dove. It's Morbin time. Fuck off, Morbius. How are you not dead? How are you not out of people's minds? Damn meme. Because right now you're dancing in your mind and just I didn't get to do my joke. Oh no. The only person losing more money than Warner Brothers is Jared Leto.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, what if one of us listed Jared Leto?
SPEAKER_03The only one would have been Skeletor.
SPEAKER_01Ah, not really. He's played more than one.
SPEAKER_03No, that would have been the only one I would have given credit for. Could have said Hollywood and still been right. Let's not speak on pleasantries. Number four. God goes that's come on now.
SPEAKER_04It's almost lost ability.
SPEAKER_01Kevin Spacey. God he who shall not be named. But yes, I'm just gonna be.
SPEAKER_03There could be a couple different answers. Horrible bosses. No? Kevin Spacey.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Now you don't really think of him as the villain because he's not even the main character of the movie. He only shows up for a little bit of it.
SPEAKER_05But he is the reason for the entirety of it.
SPEAKER_03And if I say this film, Dean's gonna kick him in the ass.
SPEAKER_00Dean's gonna kick himself in the ass or because he also likes the film.
SPEAKER_04Uh-oh. And they used it as basis for the Batman.
SPEAKER_00Hmm. That that was a clue for him. And he just right over his head.
SPEAKER_04Zodiac.
SPEAKER_03I'm like, what? Seven. Oh, seven. Oh, son of a bitch. Son of a bitch. John Doe. John Doe. And her I liked your wife and her pretty little head. What's in the box? Matt has not seen that movie. And this is all one of my all-time favorites.
SPEAKER_00It is a very highly recommended watch. Well, I think you could really handle it.
SPEAKER_03The movie's basically filmed in Gotham. They don't, it's let's looks weird.
SPEAKER_00Aside from when they go out into the field with the box.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, they're like, that's not Gotham no more. There's a scene in there where because he kills every it's biblical, and it's a serial killer.
SPEAKER_00Ooh, two things that it's it was a very great film, and why you mentioned him, his portrayal is because you don't get it till the very end of the fucking film.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, because you they're chasing the guy, chasing the whole fucking movie. You get inklings of who he is.
SPEAKER_00Like if like he's there, but you don't see him. That it's the whole reason he's called John Doe, you don't even get his real fucking name.
SPEAKER_03There's two kills in there that forever haunt, not haunt me, but forever in my head. Which sin? Two of them. One, sloth. This motherfucker kept a guy alive on drugged up and basically eating himself for fucking years. And I'm like, that was nightmare fuel. And lust. Come on. Oh. You loved lust more than you should have.
SPEAKER_01D fucking made someone put on a strap on that was a big ass fucking blade and fucking pick this up.
SPEAKER_03That's where Terrifier took. But isn't it? You pick it up a little bit. Good long, go walk. I'm four, so you're on four. I I mentioned because she should be home anytime now.
SPEAKER_05There's a lot of doorbell rings. We'd have another hilarious addict moment.
SPEAKER_03We don't have a doorbell. It'd just be a door opening. There's a door in the background. Just making a point.
SPEAKER_02My number four is easy and my number two is easy.
SPEAKER_03So. Ian McKellen. What the fuck? Magneto. Magneto? Okay. That one was too odd.
SPEAKER_00I should have been able to call that one out, but then I'm thinking Ian's done more than one villain as well.
SPEAKER_02But that's probably his biggest most popular one. Yeah. It's not his biggest character by definition, but it's his most popular.
SPEAKER_05See, the problem with me is I don't even see Magneto as a villain. Not really. He is the villain in the first one.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. One thing X-Men 97's doing. Lady Liberty would agree with that. One thing X-Men 97's doing great. Portraying their relationship, Charles and Magneto and Eric's. I love it. And they're the best of friends on set.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03You won't wait. Oh. I'm not judging. Dean doesn't either. Oh yeah, yeah. Number four. Heath Ledger. Joker. Really after that. If it isn't Joker, who is it? It's Ledger. Oh yeah. Oh yeah. Oh yeah. The cowboy from broke back mouth.
SPEAKER_05That's only a villain to me because he brings it up so much.
SPEAKER_02So it's not a villain, it's a pain if you receive the name.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. It's a role that when I first watched The Dark Knight, I wasn't too keen on it, but you appreciate Ledger's role more and more and more as you watch it. If Ryan was here, he'd probably be glazing with me because he loves that movie too.
SPEAKER_02He's technically the sub-villain in Ten Things I Hate About You.
SPEAKER_03Why so serious? Quotable lines, he's got everything. I do wonder though, if he didn't die, what Nolan's third Batman would have been. Because Nolan said Joker would have been the center of the third movie again. Of the third movie. I wonder what Dragon Wars? I do wonder what the third Nolan Batman movie would be. He pivoted very well to Bain. Obviously, Bain was on my list too, but yeah. Well again, I could yabit Joker stuff home and move on.
SPEAKER_05We do talk enough Joker stuff. So kind of touched on this one earlier. My number three is Daniel Day Lewis, Bill the Butcher. So we can kind of see playing aside. We have no problem moving along here.
SPEAKER_02I forgot that we had already talked about your three. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Two-parter. Your number three is a two-parter? Same movie, but there's technically two. Eric Banna and Brian Cox. The fucked up thing, whenever you say Eric Banna, first thing I think of is fucking Hulk. Fucked up.
SPEAKER_02Eric Banna and Brian Cox. How the fuck can I think of who Brian is?
SPEAKER_03He's like he's we just saw him as like the dad in uh Supertroopers 3, the one that was insulting all the cops.
SPEAKER_01What movie was he in with Derek Banna?
SPEAKER_04Hmm. This one's gonna hurt me.
SPEAKER_03Oh no. Banna and Char and and who's a physicist and Brian Cox. Did you show him the picture of Brian Cox? I know who I I yeah. Well you you told him based off Okay. Okay, okay.
SPEAKER_04Oh fuck. Shenanigans. Oh god. I just want you to say it. I'm like Troy. Son of a bit.
SPEAKER_03Oh, Eric Banners fucking Hector. Hector! He gets drug around on a chariot. I killed him. I killed him.
SPEAKER_02And Brian Cox is Agamemnon, who's the anti- antagonist to Achilles the entire movie.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yep, yep.
SPEAKER_03That one was hard. It's up there. Is number three just straight number three or is it a tie? It's straight number.
Final Picks, Ties, And Why They Land
SPEAKER_03They're both the same movie. So I'd put the dean.
SPEAKER_02One's the physical threat to Achilles, and the other one is the psychological threat to Achilles.
SPEAKER_05Gotcha.
SPEAKER_03But they are the two main antagonists. Because I don't like interpret Hector's dad being a villain. He's some dad's villains. He's a sympathetic king. It's some never return. Oi, oi, oy. I'm tempted to watch Troy after this. I kind of am too. Got me in a historical mood because I because I'm like, ugh.
SPEAKER_05It's either that or playing Powell World. I'll play Power World with you. I'll go home and play that, but he's my ride, so who knows how that's gonna work.
SPEAKER_02I thought you're gone here all week, aren't you? So you're playing it at home?
SPEAKER_05I've got it.
SPEAKER_04You got it set.
SPEAKER_03You gotta have the players.
SPEAKER_02I'm not subscribed to plus? Yeah. I could, but I I'm kind of refusing to get Sony any more money right now.
SPEAKER_03Oh, you're with the whole fucking like. I don't need to give them any more money than I already do. Yeah, yeah. Oh yeah. No multiplayer for him. That means. No, wait.
SPEAKER_05No, they did the same thing to fucking uh Bowler's Gate.
unknownRight?
SPEAKER_00You have to have a bus to play it?
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Fuck. So no multiplayer games with him, man.
SPEAKER_02Eventually, I'd understand a mood not to give it. Number three, sir.
SPEAKER_03Number three. This is where we said we, without intention, extend our shit. I offered you friendship and you spat in my face to Willem Defoe.
SPEAKER_05I purposely left that one off the list.
SPEAKER_03Same here.
SPEAKER_00I'm Coyota glad you said it though, because that is in my mind one of the best villain portrayals he has done.
SPEAKER_03I get one up. I get a hot I no, it's uh it's not a hot take. I think No Way Home tipped the scales, but people would all might have gave the edge to Melina as Doc Ock, but I think the foe tipped the scales to him and No Way Home for Spider.
SPEAKER_05Melina's always been anti-Hero, especially since he always had that change to turn into superior.
SPEAKER_03What's the one from No Way Home? I like. Oh, Norman's on sabbatical, honey. He was that Sabaticon. That's all my comic book ones. You're like, oh, Dean's got my number one is a comic book one, which is not one you're expecting.
SPEAKER_04My number two is gonna throw you a little bit for a loop. Robert Patrick. Oh T1000?
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Boom. I mean, T1, he's in my honor of mentions. T1000?
SPEAKER_00Yes.
SPEAKER_03Robert Patrick's my.
SPEAKER_00I just loved the way he did that character. Now everybody tries to fucking run like him.
SPEAKER_03No, you want to know the funniest interview I heard with him now? He's like, you know that scene where I'm running after the kid in the bike? The first take I caught him. And James went to me and said, we're gonna have to reshoot. You can't catch him. The whole series is over. I caught it. No, he's a cool guy too. I want to go and live one of his lines of a con. He's a super nice guy. Don't ask him to sign anything at T 1000 related though, because then you're gonna get shit. He signs it. Oh, he signs it. But he will give you. He he's sarcastic as fuck. Me going up there to get something for peace, because I loved him in peacemaker. Do you like me as a racist? It was fuck. I mean, his my favorite quote is who the fuck is Sarah Connery in Preacher? Who the fuck is Sarah?
SPEAKER_01They did that shit on Buda, I know. So I liked T one thousand, you know, the that robot more than I over Arnie?
SPEAKER_03Over Arnie as the villain. But Arnie became a hero. So I'm gonna die. I didn't choose anyone who turned hero on my list. Now, I one question for Terminator, though, for you guys, because it's as debated. Everything else you can't really debate, but there's people that as sci-fi as it is, people say the first Terminator movie can be considered a horror movie. You could almost get that in the horror. It's debated. It's still considered horror.
SPEAKER_00It's the start of no AI.
SPEAKER_03And now we're all in. Now we're all well. Somebody actually made the comparisons. What each AI in a movie that turns evil runs on.
SPEAKER_00Terminator runs on Windows.
SPEAKER_03That explains a lot, honestly. It's my why does he keep fucking?
SPEAKER_02Oh my number two is an easy one, Christopher Lee.
SPEAKER_03Sauron the wise.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, the call off.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Could say Sauron. You don't even know who played that motherfucker.
SPEAKER_03He's in it for two minutes. Or farming in his armor, then he's dead. Then he's an eye.
SPEAKER_02He lost his contact, Lensky.
SPEAKER_03Where's it? Fuck you.
SPEAKER_04Nobody move. I thought I seen it over here.
SPEAKER_03My God. I am actually so excited that that is getting another movie because world I missed. As much walking as it is, I missed the Lord of the Rings.
SPEAKER_00We haven't had a really good fantasy movie in quite a bit. The closest we came, no one fucking liked. And that was the Will Smith fucking cop movie on Netflix.
SPEAKER_03Oh my. That's as close to fantasy movies as we got in quite a bit. You know, a Lord of the Rings betrayal I love? Oh Matt's gonna get it right away. But it's only a voice, Matt. Benedict Cumberbatch is smok. You love the big dragon. Big dragon! Number two, Dean. He has a he has a card in the new magic set called now. Swog? Yes. Nobody in the Halda. Number two. This is the tie. He's not here. This is the tie. It's two characters. I couldn't pick between them. But I can give you the actor. Javier Berdun. So it's Skyfall and Raul Silva and Anton in No Country for Old Man. That man plays a villain. Usually you'd find that scene boring with Bond's sitting there to the chair and you're gonna you're gonna listen to this man monologue his whole way up there. Me. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00That is the one thing that he did so well for that movie, and why I give you props for that fucking portrayal.
SPEAKER_03I never gave you shit for Mike in that. Because Skyfall, if I had to really think in the past 20 fucking years, when you hear a villain monologue, you just drift off. Yeah, not him. He's just walking slowly.
SPEAKER_00You're listening. You're like, hold on, what happened? Anytime we talk, yeah.
SPEAKER_03It was great. It's kind of disappointing that I can't go see one of his relatively recent roles.
SPEAKER_04Which one is that? King Dritten. He was King Triton in the little Green Mermaid remake.
SPEAKER_03He was King Triton.
SPEAKER_04Yep. I don't know. I didn't see the movie.
SPEAKER_00He's King Triton. Don't know. Don't don't don't do that to me. Don't make me have no, I can watch scenes. I don't have to watch the movie itself. I can watch scenes, but I love him in F1.
SPEAKER_03You don't have to set me on M. If I had the if I had the do like really crack down and do a top 10 movies of all time, Skyfall has a good chance to make it in there. And Anton from No Country for Old Men, that's how you just play a savage killing machine that's just killing and flip the coin instead of if you live or die. Matt got the I wasn't sure if anyone's gonna get Anton from No Country for Old, but that's another one of his praised roles. I told you, I had to have read the book. Yep, yep. Cormac McCarthy. Not my favorite Cormac McCarthy book. My my favorite is not even a movie yet. They've been trying forever, but it'd be it would revive Westerns. I need a Blend Meridian movie. But I'd be very picky who plays Judge Holum because he's the personification of the devil. He would have been on here, but he don't have a movie.
SPEAKER_02Number one, Jay. I already know what it is, but El Dean.
SPEAKER_00Mad Smickels.
SPEAKER_03Well, Earl.
SPEAKER_02I know what it is. You're the only one that has to figure it out.
SPEAKER_00Do you know me well enough to figure it out? No. Hannibal Lecter. That's one of the main reasons I asked the first question.
SPEAKER_03I knew who it was. I knew who it was. You didn't say it. I didn't call it out. I knew. Wait to hear my number one. It's a little different. Jay Matt probably knows it now. I for some reason love that psychopath.
SPEAKER_00I don't know why. That cannibal. Yeah. Every portrayal of them, but the best betrayal so far has been for the HBO series.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Matt, that's a great one. That's a great one.
SPEAKER_05Like he did every fucking clip I've seen of him has made me want to watch the show, and I for some reason still haven't.
SPEAKER_03That's number one we couldn't guess. I said I think. Nope. It's a TV. I told you it was a TV show. That was the link Lloyd given you so far.
SPEAKER_04Did we get an actor name? Manu Bennett. What the fuck? Bennett. Nope. I can't look at his face. Nope.
SPEAKER_00Why? The first thing that's gonna pop up for the show? Oh god. That's a fucking cheap move.
SPEAKER_03I don't know his name. I've only seen him in two other roles. You're gonna get. You doing it? No. I'm looking at something else.
SPEAKER_04Because I don't have it. I don't know the name by heart.
SPEAKER_00I'd have to see his face to even fucking get it.
SPEAKER_03Manu Bennett is Slade Wilson Arrow.
SPEAKER_00Got see, I would have seen if I've seen his face, I looked at it.
SPEAKER_01I know! Really? From Arrow. Oh yes.
SPEAKER_03That is Slade. That is Arrow's best villain in the entire show.
SPEAKER_01Yes. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_03It is. It is. That is very good. And he I have loved every role he's done. I don't get enough of him.
SPEAKER_00I've liked I liked him better than fucking Raish. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Which dickheads for doing Raish in that goddamn show. Yeah, we just want him to be Batman. He's not.
SPEAKER_03The fact that my number one still maintained is funny. You're gonna see why I'm laughing. You're gonna see why I'm laughing. Because hold on, hold on. Have the lambs stopped screaming, Claryus? Sir Anthony Hopkins cannibal. I know what it was. Jason. Like, like, no, there is only I can't be mad at that. I can't. I can't. What a best actor. So I was like, that's why I was like, okay, I'm still fine. Minus Sir Anthony Hopkins. I figured. And I respect the hell out of Mads. Mads was great, but but it that I'm like Sir Anthony. Between the two.
SPEAKER_01However, I got more from Mads character portrayal as Lecter.
SPEAKER_03I I don't I I understand too because what we got out of Anthony, he was stuck in a fucking jail cell. But the way he just stands, he just stands there all a gentleman. He had that aura you loved. Now, Mads had that aura, but it was in a different fucking nature. Yeah, I agree. I I love Mads. Mads is a great actor. He's someone that actually He gave me my favorite fucking Lion King song. Aside from Makuna Matata. I do have a question for you after the podcast. Watch the video. Remind me. Just remind me. Watching a video.
SPEAKER_00But those are our 10. And me and you somehow tied and didn't have the same character for you.
SPEAKER_01Well, I'm I'm I'm pretty sure what now I don't know how that happened.
SPEAKER_03If you say it's a great role. If you say Hannibal Lecter, I'm pretty I'm curious. Most people would think of Hopkins. He did win a best actor for it. And he dropped another classic line in there when he gets out, and he's his doctor. He's don't like his doctor. He's like, I'd love to talk more, Clarice, but I'm having an old friend for dinner. It's so subdued, and you're like, this man is fucking insane. Not to mention that movie is up there in my top tier, Silence of the Lambs. What? Ten more minutes. Let's go for 10 more minutes. Oh, we can get 10 more minutes. That's no big deal. I just I course of honor stuff.
SPEAKER_04Did you watch Ryan 50th anniversary video? I did not.
SPEAKER_03I didn't have. Oh, we're trying to get the exactly three hours because of the runtime of fucking.
SPEAKER_02I was joking about it because the official runtime has got three hours.
SPEAKER_03I know, it's two hours and fifty some minutes. 52. Some of my honorable mentions, Josh Brolin's Thanos. I only left him off because I didn't one on Wolfman. Michael B. Jordan's Killmonger.
SPEAKER_05So I don't have it's an album mentioned, and it's
Honorable Mentions And Wrap-Up Plans
SPEAKER_05a very fucking old one, but I can't find the fucking voice actor's name. Hell 9000. That's a poll. I know it is.
SPEAKER_03That's a pull. That's a poll.
SPEAKER_05Because nobody fucking thinks of 2001 Space Odyssey. Oh no. Oh no. No one.
SPEAKER_03No one.
SPEAKER_00The other one would be Have you ever seen a Clockwork Orange?
SPEAKER_03Yep. That villain. Yep. Yep. Off the top of my dome, I can't think of the name. Oh, that motherfucker is white jump soon as well. Yes. Yeah, everything everything about that movie. That's another Stanley Kubrick. I guess he's one of my favorites. He's actually one of my honorable legends. Which one? You pointed at the Christopher Guest, Count Rugan, the six-fingered man from The Princess Bride. My funniest honorable men, not funny, but I should not laugh at the movie, but there's too much stuff. Leonardo DiCaprio's Calvin Candy from Django and J.
SPEAKER_01What? He just laughed. There's a line in there that for oh, you could have put Samuel L. Jackson from that on your list too, because he was despicable.
SPEAKER_04Samuel L.
SPEAKER_03Dude, that there's a lion. I'm gonna get I don't give a shit. I get in trouble for staying in the lions. I don't care. They're funny as hell. When they're when when he's introducing Django to Steven and he's like, Steven, get give Django some stuff.
SPEAKER_01He's gonna be staying in the house. He's gonna be staying in a big house? That nigga there?
SPEAKER_03Yes, that nigga there. Kills me every fucking time.
SPEAKER_04He's gonna stay in a big house.
SPEAKER_00Damn it, sir. There's another villain that he plays that is fucking hilarious. Have you ever seen this paragon's Extraordinary Children movie where he plays the fucking Hollower or whatever the hell they're called? Yeah, yeah. Same thing in that movie.
SPEAKER_03Django and Chain's a movie that should not be funny, but it's very funny. It's funny because we're dickheads. I can't make jokes. I've made too many. So I can't go to calling that one guy, that one guy. So is so okay, Big Daddy.
SPEAKER_01Okay, Big Daddy. The Colonel Sanders looking looking fucking slave owner, she called him. Okay, big daddy. Okay, big daddy.
SPEAKER_03Do you want us to so he's not like the other other other niggas around here? You treat him, you treat him differently. Oh, so you want us to treat him like white folks? That's not what I said. That's not what I said.
SPEAKER_04The way he just sternly God damn you Tarantino Western. That's not what I said. Uh what are some Tarantino villains? Fuck you.
SPEAKER_01Yes. You asked. She is a villain, isn't it? The Mans the Manson family from Once Upon a Simon. Cliff Booth. I need that movie now.
SPEAKER_02All of Charles all of Charles Manson's children are up-and-coming actors and actresses from an album. All of them.
SPEAKER_00Jesus Christ. Adolf Hitler is apparently in a Tarantino hearse. Yeah, his master church.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. That's another that's a Christoph Wallace plastic villain.
SPEAKER_04Inglorious Bill from Kill Bill. Yeah. Bill. How much more time do we got to kill? About six minutes. I don't got six minutes. The Mansons are labeled. The Mansons. Well, Charles Manson is. Calvin Candy is on here, like you said already. Oh yeah. Steven. Steven.
SPEAKER_03I watched an interview with Sam L. Jackson about Chango One Chain. And they were talking about fucking. When he's like, yeah, Karen Quentin called me up and said, You want me to be in. Karen Turanquino, is that where your name slip was about to be? Yeah, probably. Quentin, yeah, Quentin called me up and said, Hey, I got a role for you in a movie. And he's like, Oh yeah, send the script over, I'll read it. Then at the first reading, I looked at Quentin and I said, So you want me to play the most despicable Negro on the face of the planet?
SPEAKER_00Yes. Now that's not fair. You know what? I just typed in live action villains. The first one to pop up in in recent films. There's two of them, actually, two of them, and you're gonna appreciate this.
SPEAKER_03Bear Bailey. Oh god. Obsession. That's the new hit topic. Is he a bad guy or not?
SPEAKER_04Bad guy. Second one, Clark. Captain Clark. Backrooms. My God.
unknownClark.
SPEAKER_01Oh hell no, I was Oh. You guys mentioned his portrayal as it. You know who I should have mentioned? Because I love the Three Musketeers?
SPEAKER_04Cardinal Richelieu.
SPEAKER_02That's not where I my brain went to Christoph Waltz for the last one.
SPEAKER_00Not that one. The older. Fuck I'm old.
SPEAKER_03Jesus Christ, I'm yes, that is the old three Musketeers. Man. Christoph Walsh. I gotta stop giving away my age. We already have. That was some that was. God, I limited mine to only three comic books. I could have I could have done a whole list of comic ones, but like I said, I wanted to show appreciation some other stuff. I think I did really well as far as not aside from not having a joke, not having a joke list. Yeah. I think I it's weird for me taking things seriously. Well, you know, the thing is, if you do a list, it's not surprising. Unless Matt left them off maybe on purpose, but I left them off. Most lists are gonna have Hannibal Lecter on there. I I that was one of the ones like it. I didn't read the book.
SPEAKER_02Silence of the Lens.
SPEAKER_03Oh, I didn't read the I didn't read any Da Vinci code. I haven't read any Reacher. I couldn't put any Reacher villains on there. Who the fuck is Sarakon? Oh jeez, yeah.
SPEAKER_04Because Pauly would have been a fun one. Oh yeah. Polly. That song, bitch, wouldn't I? Maybe we should have said this one as a joke. Oh god. Which one? The Highlander!
SPEAKER_00The Kurgan, Clancy Brown, Highlander. The Highlander.
SPEAKER_04My god.
SPEAKER_00Oh, here, how about this one? This this one's for Dean. He can say that one out loud.
SPEAKER_03Ben Affleck is a very rich.
SPEAKER_02Ben Affleck is a very rich man. Uh-oh. Netflix Netflix splies Ben Affleck's AI startup.
SPEAKER_00I did love that movie. It definitely wouldn't have made my fucking list. Shownuff. Julius Carey from The Last Dragon. You remember that movie? Fucking black man loves martial arts and Bruce Lee so much he decides to make his life after it. Bruce Leroy.
SPEAKER_03That was one of me. That was one of me and Lowest things. Bruce Leroy. You're a great fucking movie.
SPEAKER_04The Shogun of Harlem.
SPEAKER_00Or how about this one?
SPEAKER_03Here's another one you wouldn't even cut. The Duke of New York, Isaac Hayes, Escape from New York. That's that movie has a soft spot for me. That's one of Pineo Kojima's inspirations for Solid Sneak. English Duff. Nick Bliskin.
SPEAKER_02English Duff and Moshoka Chense Jala's Reincarnation. Season three begins tomorrow. Crunchyroll yesterday, one day. One day ago. So it should be out.
SPEAKER_04Eris! I wonder if you're getting both. I might.
SPEAKER_03Well, how much more do you think of Moshuka we have before it's over? Because I think the mang the novel just ended, I believe.
SPEAKER_02Alright, guys. The novel ended on its Anon stuff. Actual manga. We've made it.
SPEAKER_03We've made it to Attica. Ithaca. Ithaca? I did it on purpose. Oh my god. Don't let Zeus strike you down. Well, alright.
SPEAKER_00The next time you will hear from us is in two weeks. We're gonna let Dean speak that entire episode. You're just gonna let Bean. We're gonna get a word in edgewise anyway.
SPEAKER_03Oh no. Then we oh, also next week with the Spider-Man review. We say next week review. Two weeks. Two weeks. You got two weeks, bro. I won't be here next week. It will be. No. No. No.
SPEAKER_01The Marvel, like we did to DC. The Marvel Tournament. Extravagance. Matt's already had fun with that one. Alright, folks. Signing off. Stay tuned. Yep.
