Riley and James discuss transcendent moments in this episode. They begin by talking about transcendent experiences they've had that are not directly tied to God. Then, they discuss their experience with divine transcendent moments and talk about why some people don't have them.

James specifically quotes from the section titled, "Personal encounters with spirits". In hindsight, a more applicable citation for this discussion should have come from the section titled, "Sudden connection with the beyond". In that section, 45% of respondents stated that they had a sudden or unexpected feeling of connection with something beyond this world. 49% of Protestant Christians surveyed affirmed this statement. Though these percentages are higher than the ones quoted by James, the underlying point remains true: According to the survey, a majority of people have not had a transcendent moment with God.
