Scary Movie and a Sandwich

Little Shop of Horrors and Eggplant Parm

Artem Yatsunov Season 1 Episode 14

“Feed me, Seymour, feed me all night long.” This week we’re talking (and singing!) all about the classic movie-musical marvel ‘Little Shop of Horrors’ (1987) and the classic Eggplant Parm from Ggiata Delicatessen.

Joining me in the scary studio are the award-winning musical-comedy group COUPLET, @coupletcomedy aka Marnina Schon and Micah O’Konis. We get deep on vegetarian-ism, carnivore-ism, and musical storytelling; how it was probably weird filming the “Grow For Me” number because the actors had to sing in slow-motion; and why, despite all the super tight harmonies and banging choreo, life down on Skid Row truly is a bummer. At the heart of our perfect conversation is an even more perfect sandwich - Ggiata’s perfect eggplant parm is worthy of its own musical number! Ggiata x Couplet colab, perhaps???

COUPLET are hilarious, heartwarming, and hot, but don’t you dare call them “cute”!! iykykyk, see the show to get the reference…speaking of, catch them next on November 16th at the Dynasty Typewriter.  Live and live-streamed! Get your tickets here now, Now, NOW!!
