Day 70 — Beware of Forgetting the Lord
đź“– Deuteronomy 8
In this chapter, Moses gives Israel a warning that is just as relevant today as it was thousands of years ago.
He tells them that when they enter the Promised Land and begin to experience prosperity—when their homes are full, their herds increase, and their lives become comfortable—they must be careful not to forget the Lord.
The greatest spiritual danger is not always hardship.
Sometimes the greatest danger is success without gratitude.
Moses reminds them that it is God who sustained them in the wilderness, provided manna from heaven, and guided them through every trial. The same God who led them through scarcity would also be the One who blessed them with abundance.
Prosperity was never meant to replace dependence on God—it was meant to reinforce it.
Every blessing should remind us where our strength truly comes from.
When life is full and the future looks bright, the call of Deuteronomy 8 remains the same:
Remember the Lord your God.
