Episode 7 — Building with a Sword in Hand
đź“– Nehemiah 4
As the people of Jerusalem began rebuilding the wall, opposition quickly intensified. Sanballat mocked them. Enemies formed alliances against them. Fear and discouragement began spreading among the workers.
But Nehemiah refused to allow opposition to stop the work.
Instead, he led the people to respond with faith and wisdom. They prayed for God’s help while also preparing to defend the city. They stayed focused on the mission God had given them.
The result was a powerful image: the builders worked with a tool in one hand and a sword in the other.
Nehemiah 4 reminds us that when God calls us to build something meaningful—our faith, our families, or the work He has placed in our hands—opposition may come.
But resistance does not mean the mission is wrong. Often it confirms the work matters.
So keep building.
Stay watchful.
And trust the God who fights for His people.
