Saul looked obedient on the outside… but God saw what was left untouched in his heart. What was presented as worship was actually compromised obedience. In one of the most sobering chapters in Scripture, God reminds us that He is not impressed by religious activity when it is disconnected from complete surrender.
“To obey is better than sacrifice…” (1 Samuel 15:22) is more than a rebuke to Saul—it’s a warning to every believer. Delayed obedience, selective obedience, and partial obedience are still disobedience in the eyes of a holy God.
