📖 Day 135 — “The Tragic End of a King”
1 Samuel 31
King Saul’s story ends the same way it had been unraveling for years—not because he lacked opportunity, gifting, or position… but because he repeatedly chose partial obedience over complete surrender to God.
On Mount Gilboa, Israel falls, Saul’s sons are killed, and Saul’s reign comes to a heartbreaking end. What began with promise ends in tragedy—a sobering reminder that talent can never replace obedience, and position can never substitute for character.
Saul teaches us that when a leader continually rejects God’s Word, ignores godly correction, and chooses self over surrender, ruin eventually follows.
But even in this dark chapter, Scripture reminds us: God’s purposes never fail, even when men do.
🔥 Big Truth:
Leadership without obedience eventually leads to collapse—but a life surrendered to God will always stand.
📖 “To obey is better than sacrifice…” — 1 Samuel 15:22
