There is more happening around us than what we can see.
Paul writes:
“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood…” — Ephesians 6:12
The Bible is unmistakably clear that there is an unseen spiritual battle taking place. But when it comes to spiritual warfare, Christians often fall into one of two dangerous extremes:
We either ignore the spiritual battle completely…
or we become obsessed with the enemy behind everything.
Neither approach is biblical.
There is a better way:
Not paranoia.
Not naïveté.
Clarity.
Spiritual warfare is real. Satan is real. Temptation, deception, accusation, and opposition are real.
But here is the most important truth of this entire series:
🔥 The purpose of understanding the enemy is ultimately to understand more clearly the victory and sufficiency of Christ.
Jesus is not struggling to defeat Satan.
He has already conquered.
The cross was not a close battle.
The resurrection was not a narrow victory.
Christ reigns.
So we study spiritual warfare not because we are fascinated with darkness, but because understanding the battle should cause us to stand in greater confidence in the victorious Christ.
Over the coming episodes, we’re going to pull back the curtain and look carefully at what Scripture teaches about the unseen battle surrounding the believer.
But we will keep coming back to one truth:
