Ezekiel did not stand in a valley filled with tired people who needed encouragement. He stood among the bones of dead people who could do absolutely nothing for themselves.
This is not a story about discovering human potential. It is a revelation of God’s resurrection power.
God spoke. The bones came together. God breathed. The dead received life.
Ezekiel’s vision originally revealed God’s promise to restore His scattered covenant people under one Shepherd-King—the promised Son of David. It also points us toward Jesus Christ, who conquered the grave and gives spiritual life to those who are dead in sin.
We cannot raise the dead—but God can.
No sinner is beyond His grace.
No heart is beyond His reach.
No situation is beyond His authority.
No promise of God will ever fail.
When we see only dry bones, God sees what His Word and Spirit can bring to life.
