Daniel 3
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were given a choice:
Bow—or burn.
Their response is one of the strongest declarations of faith in all of Scripture:
“Our God whom we serve is able to deliver us… But if not… we will not serve your gods.” — Daniel 3:17–18
That is mature faith.
God is able.
But even if He does not give us the outcome we want, He is still worthy.
God could have kept them out of the furnace.
He didn’t.
God could have extinguished the fire.
He didn’t.
Instead, He met them in it.
Nebuchadnezzar threw three men into the fire—but when he looked again, there were four.
That is the hope of Daniel 3:
🔥 God does not promise us a life without suffering.
🔥 Faithfulness does not guarantee an easy road.
🔥 Obedience may sometimes lead us directly into the furnace.
But if you belong to God, you never enter the fire alone.
And don’t miss this: they went into the furnace bound, but Nebuchadnezzar saw them walking around unbound.
Sometimes God uses the very fire we thought would destroy us to burn away the things that had been binding us.
Maybe you’re in a furnace season right now.
Keep trusting.
Keep standing.
Keep worshiping.
And keep saying:
“My God is able—but even if not, He is still worthy.”
