DAY 230 — GOD KEEPS HIS WORD
📖 Daniel 9

Daniel looked around and saw a nation in exile, Jerusalem in ruins, and God’s people living with the consequences of their rebellion.

But then Daniel opened the Word of God.

He discovered through Jeremiah that God had promised the exile would not last forever. And rather than making Daniel passive, God’s promise drove him to his knees.

Daniel prayed:

“We have sinned.”

No excuses.
No blame shifting.
No minimizing sin.

But Daniel also knew something greater:

“To the Lord our God belong mercy and forgiveness.”

Daniel 9 reminds us that biblical repentance begins by recognizing that God is righteous and we are not. Yet our hope is not found in convincing God of our goodness. Daniel prayed:

“We do not present our pleas before You because of our righteousness, but because of Your great mercy.”

That is the gospel.

We do not stand before God because we are good enough.

We stand because He is merciful.

And ultimately, God’s answer to humanity’s deepest problem is found in Jesus Christ. Jerusalem needed restoration, but humanity needed redemption. The temple needed rebuilding, but sinners needed atonement.

God promised a Messiah.

And God kept His Word.

So if you are waiting on God today, remember:

His silence is not absence.
His timing is not failure.
His promises are not fragile.

The God who kept His promises to Daniel is still faithful today.

Repent honestly.
Pray boldly.
Trust deeply.
And keep your eyes on Jesus.
