📖 Isaiah 61
Isaiah 61 gives us one of the clearest pictures of the mission of Jesus before He ever stepped into the world.
He came to bring good news to the poor, healing to the brokenhearted, freedom to the captive, and comfort to those who mourn.
Then, centuries later, Jesus stood in the synagogue, read these very words, and declared:
“Today this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing.” — Luke 4:21
In other words, Jesus was saying, “Isaiah was talking about Me.”
The good news of the Gospel is that Jesus did not come only for people who have everything together. He came for the broken, the guilty, the grieving, the wounded, and the hopeless.
He still gives beauty for ashes.
He still replaces mourning with joy.
He still brings freedom where sin has created bondage.
He still rebuilds what looks ruined beyond repair.
Your brokenness does not have to be the end of your story when Jesus is the Author of it.
The Messiah has come. His name is Jesus. And in Him, restoration has begun.
