Day 249 — Nothing Is Impossible with God
Luke 1:26–38
Today in The Story of Scripture, Gabriel comes to a young woman named Mary with an announcement that will change history forever: the promised Messiah is coming.
Mary is not in Jerusalem. She is not powerful, famous, or influential. She is a young woman from Nazareth. And that is part of the beauty of the story—God often does His greatest work through people the world would overlook.
Gabriel tells her that she will give birth to Jesus, the Son of the Most High, the promised Son of David whose kingdom will never end. When Mary asks how this can happen, Gabriel answers with one of the great truths of Scripture:
“For nothing will be impossible with God.” — Luke 1:37
That does not mean God promises to accomplish every dream we imagine. It means nothing God purposes and nothing God promises is beyond His power to fulfill.
And Mary gives us one of the clearest pictures of biblical faith:
“Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.”
She did not have every answer. She could not see every consequence. She simply trusted the God who had spoken.
That is faith.
Faith is not understanding everything before you obey. Faith is trusting God enough to obey even when you cannot see how everything will work out.
Maybe today our prayer needs to be Mary’s prayer:
“Lord, I am Your servant. I do not understand everything, but I trust You.”
God’s calling may stretch us beyond what we can understand, but His power is never limited by what we cannot see.
Nothing God has promised is impossible for Him to accomplish.
