Show Notes

The day after Valentine's Day isn't a sad day when you're a lover of THIS DAY IN SPORTS! Today's episode offers you plenty of sports love without any of the commitment hassles that many others might demand in exchange. We've got great stuff about George Steinbrenner firing managers (again), the '89 Pistons' road to glory, Bill Belichick getting fired, Muhammad Ali's first title loss in the ring and Richard Petty dominating Daytona (again). Plus there's great bits about Sonja Henie, Jaromir Jagr, Gaylord Perry, Andrea Jaeger, James Worthy and...Frank reveals his favourite movie from the 80's (it has a sports theme, of course!).   Plus we have a hilarious discussion this week with TV and podcasting star Peter Oldring (This is That, American Crime Story). As well as being a great actor/improviser, writer and podcaster,  Peter (@whatpetersaw) is also the voice of the Tennis Channel. So we thought our DORK DRAFT (tm) this time should be about which new rules each of us would like to add to the great game of tennis to make it even more exciting. Peter has some great ideas of his own and the conversation gets pretty outrageous as it goes on. Very silly stuff. Enjoy it on YouTube because there are some funny visuals or get it wherever you usually get your podcasts and remember you can always find us on IG at @thisdayinsports8.  Thanks as always and enjoy!
