If you're a service provider or a coach, I know how it can feel. And I know how it can be to be bombarded with one on one clients, I know how our businesses can feel like they're always put last. I know a lot of people who actually have a nine to five probably feel this way too, because when you are a service provider, you're coaching, you have one on one or done for you services, what happens is, we almost get stuck in the, oh, this is my full time business. Because this is where the revenue is coming in. This is what's bringing in the revenue. This is what bringing in the clients, but I really want to have more passive side of my business, I want to have more elearning and courses and programs and things like that, where I can help multiple people, DIY it, right, or have multiple people that I can support at the same time. Or have multiple people I can teach at one time, but help the masses, whatever that looks like to you. And we get stuck in this. I got to over deliver for my clients, I got to do everything for my clients, my clients come first, blah, blah, blah, and then our business gets stuck and our business is last. I've seen this cycle. I've been in the cycle. But I've seen it happen all too often. Where people reach out to me and say, I want your business. They have no idea how much I'm making. They have no idea anything. They see the time freedom. They see me showing up. They see me relaxed, they see me not head down in front of my computer all the time working on client work. Do I still have clients? Absolutely. To my clients from my business? No. At one point in my business, I had probably 15 or 20 clients and in I had very, I had probably had one person helping me. And they were doing this little side business that I had started of creating content for other people. And so they were really creating the graphics, and I was still doing everything for the clients, I was also a control freak, don't get me wrong, I totally see all the faults here that I had. But it was like this exchange, every time I was able to open up a program or start a program or get people to join a program, I was able to either let go of a client or raise prices and risk losing them, which you do. But I was able to be okay with that. And so somebody who had 15 to 20 clients creating content, five to seven days a week for each of them running ads, for some of them on top of that, it was insane. Was I making money? Yeah. Did it matter? No, I was exhausted. I was tired. I was unfulfilled. And I think that was the biggest thing. And maybe you are like I'm a service writer, because I used to tell myself, this is like my passion and blah, blah, blah. And I think what I do, and the results I can get from people is my passion. But actually heads down doing the work singing in front of computer all the time is not always my passion. And so how can we pluck out the things that we actually truly enjoy doing, and create a business that we love, that we can't wait to jump out of bed and dive into every morning. I have about three to four clients. Typically the most I will take now is five. But I'm very happy with three to four clients. Those three to four clients keep me very abreast on my skills. They helped me stay aware of what's going on and all the platforms besides just my accounts. And they also keep me aware of how different industries can look different and the content and what's working and what's not, and all of that good stuff. So I don't know that I ever want to get rid of done for your clients. But I definitely never needed to keep 15 to 20 because that was insane. That was overdoing it. Back in 2018. A friend of mine said to me that she never gets up and does client work. And she was also a client based business. And I was like What do you mean, she goes, I work on me I work on my business. Because if I don't do those things, then I'm not gonna get any more clients or I'm not gonna be able to sell anything if I'm not building my business. And it struck me as odd because I always got up at 430 But I was doing client work. But I was like, wait a minute, I should be putting my business first too. And so from that phone call on, I have been doing that my business comes first. It started out in a situation where I could do two hours every day on my business, the first two hours every day, that was my business, only my health, my self care, me and my inner work all of that. And then, in 2022, I adopted CEO days, so instead of SEO hours, I Dropsy adopted SEO days. Now, don't get me wrong, I still have those SEO hours on the three days that are not my SEO days, but my SEO days are very vital to me. And they are all about working on my business, marketing my business, working on my programs, working on selling working on sales pages, working on lead magnets, all those things that bring in additional leads to me all those things that get me in front of someone aka visible, right. So that is a priority to me. Right. And I had to make that a priority. And that has felt good. And one of the boundaries that I set up was somebody sends me something late Thursday night. I technically don't get it till Friday. That means I'm not working on it till Tuesday, and it's a boundary. And it's very hard. But if I've been waiting on something for two months, and you finally decide to send it on a Thursday night, is there really a rush? No. What does that quote your lack of your, your lack of I don't know what it's lack of something is not my emergency. But basically, your poor planning your poor planning is not my emergency or something like that. But you know, we get to have boundaries in our business, we get to make easier money. Not that it's easy to market yourself, just like if you market for your clients or help them do in any way, shape or form like that. It's not easy, but it gets to be easy. Or if that makes sense. We get to stop capping our revenue or income. We get to stop capping the number of people we can serve and support. But it all comes down with making that decision. Do I want a doughnut hole done for your business? Do I want a whole one on one business? Or do I want to cut this down a little bit and have some programs, have some passive have some elearning have some different things that I can serve and support multiple people in a different capacity? How would your stress levels feel if you had less done for you and one on one clients? How would your stress levels feel if you didn't have to cap your income? Or instead of looking for done for you or one on one spots? You were filling it with group programs? You're filling it with other opportunities? How would you feel if you've had more time freedom. You had more time to do the things that light you up, you had more time to focus on your business, you had more time to grow your business? These are questions I had to ask myself. And these are questions I would like you to ask yourself to what feels more aligned for you? What direction do you want to go in? And how can I serve and support you? I want you to have an amazing business. I want you to have time and money freedom, whatever that looks like to you. Maybe it's not six figures, maybe it's not seven figures. Maybe it's not eight figures. Maybe it's just like I just want to pay my bills and be able to take my family vacation or just want to pay off debt or just want to put my kids to college, whatever that looks like. But we get to receive we get to have more. We get to make it the best experience ever. And we get to feel joy and fulfillment in the process. The question is, are you going to allow yourself to have something different? Or are you going to keep head down at the computer, either on a zoom or creating or doing things for other people and never for yourself?
