Pockets of Time is Making the Most of Your Minutes [252]

We underestimate the things we can complete in 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 minutes.
We love to say we don't have time...but we actually do, right?
In the pockets of time you have each day, you can create so much...are you ready to use this time even if it's 5 minutes to be productive?

As I'm doing the 24 hours of CC circle, which is where I did 24 hours of answer anything in like a telegram broadcast, I've gotten some really great questions. And it reminded me of some things I probably haven't shared on the podcast. So I want to do that today. In January of 2021, no, January of 2022, I spoke at clean con, I'm a co host, in Columbus, Ohio. And one of the things I did was because people say they just don't have enough time, there's never enough time, there's never enough time, there's never enough time. So one of the things I did when I ended my speech was tell people how they can find pockets of time. And these all may not apply to you. But I would encourage you to really write, like, write a list down. So when you have five minutes, if you're a busy mom, or you having a nine to five, and you only have pockets of time to work on your business, I want to make sure that you have the opportunity to do so what I have found is sometimes I have five minutes, when we end a call early, sometimes I have 20 minutes when I'm waiting on somebody to show up for a call that ends up not showing up. So there's a lot of different things that we can we can do with this time. So I want to like go over those just to give you some ideas and some clarity to see that we can get a lot done in the time that we have. And this is based on a question that I got that said if I only had an hour a day, what would I do to work my business. And so when you see what you can do in 510 15 minutes, you realize you can actually probably get a lot done if you had an hour of focus, uninterrupted time to really work your business. So if I had five minutes a day, I would go live for five minutes. Because it's the easiest type of content to create. You could send birthday messages to the birthdays today, if you're on Facebook, you could post one of your drafts in your tiktoks or reels, you could create a poll in stories, you could upload an older video to otter AI, which is otter.ai to transcribe. And you can pull the text where you have when you have time later. So super simple things you can do in five minutes, and 10 minutes, you can send an email to your list, you could even grab a recent YouTube video to make this easier, you could go live for 10 minutes, you could create a 10 minute recorded video to post later, you could find a quote that you needed to hear today and post it your audience will too. You could find two people to engage with, you could go check your poll results from that store you created earlier when you only had five minutes and engage with everyone that answered. There's so many other things since I created this list that I know you can do in 10 minutes, you could create a podcast episode, you can voice memo people that you want to engage with, you could literally repurpose just about anything. If you had 10 minutes, you could probably repurpose several things. In 15 minutes, you could create two to three tic TOCs in reels post one and keep the others in your drafts, you could create a 15 minute video, you could start a blog post, you may actually even be able to write a blog post in 15 minutes, and 20 minutes, you could go find that video transcription and posting quotes and text content from it and post with one of your favorite recent images. You could create a post to pitch yourself for podcasts or guests opportunities which gets you outside of your current network. In 25 minutes, you could write a blog post, you could go respond to comments on all the social media platforms that you're active on. In 30 minutes, you could record a 30 minute masterclass or training for your audience, you could create eight to 10 or more tic TOCs. In reels you could create content for the week and schedule or create a plan a content plan for video. Or in 30 minutes, you could also learn something new. So in less than four minutes, I've told you so far, what you could do with 30 minutes or less a day. So the question is, what are you going to do if you only have five minutes? What are you going to do if you only have 10 minutes? Do you want to find things that move the needle forward? If so, if you're not driving, pull out a Google Doc. And let's type this up. If I have five minutes here, the things I could do if I have 10 minutes here, the things I can do, and then plant those in your calendar, whether you time block or you see opportunities where you can do things. We have more time than we realize and we actually underestimate what we can get done in such an amount of time. And to prove that let me just tell you a quick story. My son moved out of our house in February, no March and I haven't wanting to turn his room into my new office. First of all, there is a lot of memories in there. There is a lot of stuff that as a mama it's hard to get rid of afraid. And so I went in one day, and I worked for about two hours. And I didn't make much progress. And I kind of just shut the door. And thought, yeah, I'll do that another day. And my husband and I, before I went to Hawaii, we talked about, like, that's a priority when I get back. But I wasn't really like making a plan or anything like that. So when I get back, my parents are coming, and I'm like, I really don't want to eject my other teenager from her room to sleep in their room, it honestly would be much less stressful. If I just cleaned his room, they can sleep in his bed, then after they leave, the room is pretty much ready for me to start. Like, I can take the bed out, I can paint it, I can do all the things I want to do. So I start, and then I text my parents. I'm like, I'm pretty sure I'm not gonna be done with this. So I'll still be working when you get here. Because yeah, I'm under estimating what I can get done a focus time. And I started at about 7am. That morning, my parents gonna be here at 130. And I got done. I was doing laundry. I was doing a lot of things in between. So I would say four focus hours easily. I got it done. Now. Why did I avoid that for nine months, nine months of my life, I avoided that because I thought it would take weeks to get that room clean. Now he's not cleared out. But it's clean. It's too cluttered. I got rid of stuff. It was like I keep walking in there because I'm like, I can't believe it. I can't believe it was as easy. I cannot believe it was this easy, seriously. But we like to like make things so much bigger and scarier and hairier than they really are. That if we just take action. It's done. And if you've listened this podcast plenty enough, you also know that I hate cleaning is not my thing. I don't like it. I don't enjoy it. I do enjoy the after. But I don't want to do it. I just want somebody else to do it. For me. This was an instance nobody could do it for me. I got to do it. I did it. And now I feel amazing. And that is the way that you will feel to when you find these pockets of time in your business to get things done, that you don't think you have time for. So the question is, are you going to create this document? Are you going to make this happen? Or are you going to continue to say I don't have time. I'm overwhelmed and just continue to create less time and more overwhelm over and over and over again.
