When we start doing something, especially if it's new to us, we aren't always thrilled with the results. Here are my thoughts on this and how we can give ourselves more grace.

When we start doing something new, we're not always thrilled with our results, or we're not always thrilled with our talent or experience or the output, right? And I can say this, for sure when I started getting on video, even though at the time I thought it was amazing. I looked back now like, oh, I had a lot of improvement to do. But I wanted to tell you this, even though I knew I wasn't perfect when I started out. I wasn't dissatisfied. Right, I was still proud of my accomplishment. And I think a lot of times, especially as a recovering perfectionist, we're never satisfied, it can always be better. And yes, it could always be better. But can we be happy and satisfied with the output that we're putting out? Can we be happy and satisfied with the consistency that we're doing now knowing we can improve and knowing we can do better, I was listening to high performance habits. And Brendon Burchard was talking about how dissatisfaction really is, it hinders your high performance, right? So you're not going to have create high performance habits. If you're always dissatisfied, and you're not happy with what you put out. And, again, this is not like saying, I don't need to learn anymore. I don't need to get better. But it means I am giving myself Grace, I'm happy with the fact that I did what I did, knowing that I can be better at the same time, right? It's that duality of I'm satisfied. But I can always do better, we can always improve. And yes, that is true. No matter where we are at or what our expert status is, we can always do better. And I want you to just think about whatever journey you're on maybe it's health and fitness, maybe it's, you know, getting on video, maybe it's writing better content, maybe it's writing better emails, maybe it's writing better blog posts, it's a lot of writing, by the way, maybe it's reading your book, maybe it's going to in person events and trying not to be socially awkward, but you already are and I feel you they're my friend. But I want you to ask yourself, like how can I give myself more grace? How can I be more satisfied, and with myself that I actually did the thing right and congratulate myself on that versus not doing the thing. I have a great example. And I did a week video, I'm sorry, visibility explosion last week. And so many people don't show up after a day or two. And I think what happens is they're not satisfied with their output. And I've been there, I have been that person that joined a seven day 21 day, whatever challenge and my output wasn't there. And I want you to know that. Giving yourself grace, number one. Number two, a queen is never late show up when you can. And I think a lot of people have a lot of shame around that. And then they don't show up at all. I can feel this myself, I joined a six week challenge was actually one of my clients. And it's a health and fitness and I knew I needed to get back on track. And I needed that accountability. And so I've been really slacking in remembering to screenshot my posts and putting it up there. But I'm still doing the work. I'm just being just had struggles remembering to do that, right. But as long as I'm doing the thing, and I'm working out and I'm making progress, am I dissatisfied? No. Could I do better? Yes. But am I gonna quit because of it? No, I'm going to keep moving forward, I'm going to keep doing the thing. Because that's what I needed this for was accountability. Even if I don't get to the screenshot and putting it out there. I still know I made a needle moving efforts and my health and fitness, right? And it's the same thing in your business, whatever it is that you're doing. How can we make needle moving efforts and be satisfied with the output? Knowing that we're going to improve the more that we do the thing. And that's the one thing that I love about video, you'll always get better. You'll always get more uncomfortable. You'll always stretch yourself and push yourself. And the same thing happens with visibility and being vulnerable in our content and all of those things. So think about it. How can we be more satisfied? Stop nitpicking ourselves to death and be more satisfied with what the output that we're doing while still continuously improving and knowing that we can improve our efforts
