Hello, we are hanging out by my pool. That is actually not operational right now because the filter broke and we're waiting on a part, so it's currently not swimmable but it's pretty for the moment, so it makes a good background. But I want to talk to you tonight about fear and I want to ask you is fear controlling your actions? Is fear controlling the decisions that you make when it comes to your business? And let me explain. Somebody asked me today about launching, and it always brings up. I know you guys heard a lot about launching when I was launching my launch program, but it brought up a lot of the fears that I had when I was launching. It was very scary. I literally led when I didn't launch for six months. I let fear lead my actions, so I wasn't in control of my actions. I was letting fear be in control of my actions, and so therefore, i played very small, i played very scared. I definitely wasn't playing full out and I also. How much revenue did I miss out on during that time? Who knows? right, a lot of revenue, because I let fear win. And a lot of times we want to improve, we want to do all these things, we have all these big goals, but what happens is we actually we don't move forward. And so I laugh because, like I don't know how, i thought I was going to get better at launching by actually not launching. But somewhere in my brain I told myself I would one day get better at it. I just wasn't doing it. So for six months I avoided it. How do you get better at something you avoid? You don't.
Speaker 1I like to tell this story. If he ever knew I told this story, he would be really embarrassed. But a friend of my stepson's, he came over to our pool. They were all 15 year olds and he, this side over here, is 10 and a half foot deep, and when little kids come to my pool I ask if they can swim. That's a great question to ask for little kids, but when you're 15, i am assuming you know if you can swim or not. So he jumps in the pool and the 10 and a half foot, i'm like Dylan's drowning and they're like, no, he's not. No, he's not, he's fine, he's fine. And they're like he's just playing around And I'm like, no, i really don't think he can swim. Come to find out He couldn't. He jumped in the 10 and a half foot and he thought, because he was older and it had been a while, that he might have just learned. That is not how it works.
Speaker 1I wasn't going to just learn how to launch by not launching. I wasn't going to learn how to get better at launching by not launching. So I challenged myself when I said, okay, i'm going to stop this bro marketing way of launching and I'm going to start doing more of like less bro marketing way of launching, a way that just feels really, really good to me. And so I took like three launching courses and decided I'm just going to launch. Like I think the second week of the launch program that I was in, i was like, let's do it, let's figure it out, let's launch this thing and let's see what happens. And it was crazy because I had zero expectations and it was a low ticket offer. But I said I'm going to give it to you for this price If you're the first 24 people. And I sold the first 20 before 24 hours and I needed that Number one. I needed to lead. like, even though it was scared and I hadn't done it in six months, i needed to lead with that. Like that was huge for me, the cost didn't matter, like it really did it. It was me being led, me moving first, me going forward and doing the scary thing Anyhow, because the six months previous I was stuck.
Speaker 1I was stagnant because I refused to launch. I'm not sure how long I actually thought that was gonna last, but I'm glad that I Stepped out of fear. Right, i still had the fear and I was courageous and said you're just doing this. You didn't want to get on video either, like in 2016. Remember that you didn't want to get on video, but you did it. And then what did you do? you started doing it more. And then how do you get better? you keep doing it and you do it over and over and over everything I have done. I Some people may think this is to the extreme, but that's how I get better.
Speaker 1I challenge myself. A hundred lives in July, 200 lives in July, a hundred uncomfortable actions in 90 days. At 365 days of Uncomfortable action, like I push myself because I don't want fear to win. I don't want fear to win. I want to be in control. Yes, here, so leads me. Yes, i still listen to my fear. Yes, i still have imposter syndrome. I still do all those things, but it's like how much am I gonna let, how much am I gonna listen to fear, how much am I gonna let it keep coming up, how much am I gonna let it be in control of this decisions and the actions that I make? Because I'm gonna tell you right now, i wouldn't have the business that I have today if I allowed fear to win all the time. Fear still wins I'm not like superhuman. Fear still wins a lot and You know, the only way I can get over that is to keep pushing outside of my comfort zone over and over and over.
Challenging Yourself to Grow
Speaker 1And this was a lesson that I talked to my program members in In Momentum today, because, like I know, this is gonna come up so much in eight weeks. Like, of course we're pushing ourselves, of course we're trying to create momentum, of course that starts with consistent action. And how many times are we not gonna get instant gratification? Are we not gonna get, like, all these things that we want, the validation and all the things that we want as a business owner? Like we want those things, but can you still move without those things? Can you still move without gratification? Can you still move without the evidence that it's gonna work? And that's one of the hardest things as a business owner, like standing in your personal power stop waiting on circumstantial power. Like it's a huge learning curve for all of us.
Speaker 1And You know, going back to launching that was like the biggest thing. Like can I launch every single month, even when I don't sell? Can you come back and you pick yourself up again, come back and can you launch again? Yes, i did it multiple times. There are multiple months that I sold nothing. There are multiple months that I sold nothing in priests or nothing in Early bird, nothing in pre-sell and sold for price. There's months that I only sold early bird, didn't sell the other two.
Speaker 1Like there's so many different scenarios that happen, but it's like it was like a challenge to myself to keep doing that. The same thing with video. I'm challenging myself. Like Creating a KPI for yourself a challenge for yourself, i think is like one of the healthiest things that you can do because you grow from it. You've learned from it.
Speaker 1Some people give up. I've given up on things before and it's just like how far you're gonna push yourself? how far are you gonna go Without evidence, without proof, without validation? like is that all you're made of, that you have to have those things, or Can you believe that you Are the expert that you truly, a hundred percent believe and you embody and everything that you teach, and so you know it works, you know there's a transformation involved, you know that's gonna change people's lives and you go with it because you have that Like, you feel it so deeply that nothing is gonna waver you. There will be hard days, don't get me wrong. There will be hard days, but can you keep moving, knowing that you're the evidence that it works, that you're the evidence that this is something that people need, and Keep pushing forward, even without the validation.
