What if the secret to boosting your business wasn't in the paycheck, but in the relationships you build along the way? That's the provocative question we tackle in this discussion about the power of free visibility, specifically in the context of offering free training in a paid program for someone else. We take a deep look at the strategy behind this, highlighting how this approach may not be a one-size-fits-all method, but it certainly yields dividends for the majority.

Speaker 1So last night I had this conversation. Someone asked in a free group or not a free group? I guess it's a program group, I don't know. And they asked about doing a free training in a paid container for somebody else and my response was absolutely yes, that is visibility. You guys know that's my thing, right? And someone didn't agree with my answer and said that strategy is not for everyone. And here's the thing do I agree if it's for everyone? No, but it is the strategy for the majority. And here is why I can charge, and I have charged to do events for other people.
Speaker 1And sometimes people just said can you come in and train and I'll pay you, and of course we do not say no to that, right. But I've also had people ask can you come in and train for free and then you can promote or do whatever, which I rarely promote because I have not built enough trust yet, but I do offer whatever my free thing is right then and there. And the person and I just kept going back and forth, back and forth, back and forth. I'm not really sure where her expertise is or where she qualifies to say this, but that's to each our own. But here's the thing that I will never back down from and that is, whether I'm paid or not, the ROI that I will get from speaking in front of people for free will always outweigh or outdo what they could pay me. The relationships, the referrals, the raving fans, the testimonials, the reviews, like all of that will outweigh the amount of money that somebody could pay me to come speak. Now again, if somebody offers you to pay you, that's great. Accept it.
Speaker 1But also, at the same time, if somebody invites you to speak, don't turn it down just because you think that there is no ROI there, because there is always a return on your investment. There is always a return on your time, especially when you are pouring in to that container, especially when you're giving all your heart and your soul into that container, when you truly believe and you stand in your power and you believe that what you do is life changing. The people watching and participating are going to feel that hands down. So it doesn't cheapen your brand, it doesn't make you less than desirable. If you decide to go speak for free, the benefits outweigh heavily outweigh the payment. Always Again, if they offered to pay, you sure, but if they don't, it's never a waste of your time, ever a waste of your time.
Speaker 1Number one you get speaking experience right. The only way you get better at speaking is to continue speaking. Whether that's on video or in person, it doesn't matter Both. The way you get better is practice. And then also the connections, the contacts, the potential, future, soul aligned clients like all of those come into play.
Speaker 1So I will not back down on my stance that free visibility, free getting yourself in front of other people's audiences is always a brilliant, beautiful strategy to follow for 99.9% of all entrepreneurs there. I said it, that's how I feel about it and nobody's going to change my mind, because not only have I done it, not only have my mentors done it, not only have my clients done it like I have seen this firsthand how it can work and how it can really grow your business. It is an extension of the visibility that you can put out is an opportunity to get in front of other people's audiences and grows. There is absolutely no negative about getting in front of other people's audiences to speak, even if you don't get paid for. Now are there going to be opportunities that nothing comes out of it? Probably. Am I sitting here like oh, I spoke to that group and no one ever bought from me? No, I'm not going to show up on social media for free. I show up on my podcast for free. I'm showing up right now on this video for free.
Speaker 1I'm not sitting here keeping score. The only score I'm keeping is how many times did I go live today and how many times did I show up today? Right, that's the only score I'm keeping. Yes, I love supporting other people. I love seeing their wins.
Speaker 1Don't get me wrong, but the score I'm keeping is with myself, not with other people, and not what the return on investment is. But I know deep down that there is always a return on ROI, always, and it's always. I win in every situation. And whether I get results, clients, whatever from that free thing that I did, it doesn't matter, because I always win, and if we start looking at things like that, it's going to be so much more beneficial in everything we do and it's going to show up so much more in every single thing that we do. So if somebody asks you to come into their group and speak and they don't offer to pay you now, if you have the capacity or if you're slammed, then obviously say no, but if you have the capacity and you really want to serve and support others, say yes. Like I said, 99.9% of all entrepreneurs should be doing this and should be saying yes to this to grow their business.
