Embracing Growth Through Hardship

The hardships I have had that no one saved me from are a huge part of my success . There have been so many moments when I thought my business was gonna burn to the ground . I thought that my business was done , that I thought that I wouldn't make another dime , that I thought all of these things and , honestly , when we are faced with a situation and we come through , there is no better learning , there is no better strength , there is no better growth than that . Growth does not come from everything being easy . Growth does not come from never having hardships . Growth does not come from the easy day and day out . It comes from the hard times , and I think that we forget that , and one of the things that I joke about , that I do I'm about to . When I need to have a difficult conversation , when I need to do something difficult , the first thing I say to myself is because you have to put everything in perspective . Right , this is gonna suck so bad , but you know what ? I am gonna grow through this . This is gonna be really hard , but I'm gonna grow through this . This seems really scary in the moment , but I'm gonna grow through this and I look at everything as the positive right . Like , I may feel this way and my feelings are valid . However , at the end of the day , there is going to be growth on the other side .

And so many times , like I have wanted to leave programs , I have wanted to , you know , forget all my commitments because it would be so much easier , right , If I just didn't have that payment , if I just didn't have this , if I just didn't have that . But you know what ? I would not be where I'm at today if that were the case . And I'm thankful for those hard times . I'm thankful for the situations I had no idea how I was gonna get out of . I'm thankful and it's you know it's so hard even to still say that , but I know what came out of it , right ? And I just want you to know that , if you're listening to this episode right now and you are going through a hard time and you are struggling , there is light at the end of the tunnel . It doesn't I mean , it doesn't like rain all the time and there's ever sunshine . There is gonna be sunshine , there is gonna be the sun . The sun will rise again , Like it's not always going to be dark , and again , in those moments I never believed that and it was very hard to see that . But I can tell you , as somebody who , according to her human design , totally fails more than most people , I've been there in some capacity . I've been there .

You know , I'll never forget the when I messaged my mentor and I did not message her to get me out of it I really pretty much messaged her to give her my 30 day notice . I had been in the mastermind I was in , I had been in about a year and a half and I , like , could only see that I was gonna have $2,000 a month . Now , granted , I was about to quit my business on September 3rd , and I could only see $2,000 coming in and I'm like , well over half of that is this payment right ? So I have nothing . And so I messaged her and I said , if I don't turn this around , I am gonna have to give my 30 day notice . I'm not gonna be able to renew and be a part of this container after October and or after September .

And the funny thing is , everybody wants to know what she said to me and for years I forgot what she said to me and I went back in that voxer message and listened and it was really nothing profound and everybody just thinks that there was this like magic conversation and there wasn't . She said some things to like make me think really hard , right , and I came to the conclusion in that moment that I literally have nothing to lose . I have nothing to lose so I can go all in because I'm planning on being done with my business right , so I can go all in and see what happens , or I can just sit here and just wait for it to all crash and burn and to say that I created $10,000 in revenue not just revenue , recurring revenue in three weeks is still one of the most insane things , especially at that time in my business , Like I don't even know how I did it in a way , and the only thing I can say was my consistent actions that those 100 lives in July of 2020 carried through , because I don't believe we see instant gratification from anything . So around September makes sense that I would have started seeing the results from that and tenacity and not willing to give up . And the other thing is and I know they have this thing called toxic positivity and I don't know if it was toxic positivity , but it was pretty much like I had nothing to lose and so there was no stress and I really turned my business around .

And the major reason I turned it around , I had two things my mindset had to change . I had to stop playing the victim . I had to stop what was me . I had to stop wanting to be saved . And the second thing was I was consistent well before that time happened and I just hadn't seen the results yet . I just had to wait . I just had to be patient .

And when I look back at my business , there are so many times that I have played or felt the victim . It's one of the worst qualities that I can say about past Chrissy right , Baby Chrissy is what I call her . Like , I hate the victim mindset and I can identify it so much now , like things that I said or things that I wrote , or I can see it Not everybody may be able to identify it , but I can see it and I had to really give up that victim mentality . I had to take ownership for everything that I was doing , including the potential failure . I had to take ownership of that too . And when you just move and when you decide you have nothing to lose , so you might as well go all in anyhow , it just does something to you and it almost creates this momentum , tight feeling that I don't even know if I can really explain .

But pouring into myself and really taking the things I wish people were saying to me , to my audience , and saying them to them like , also really helped and that was a magical , magical thing , and I don't believe . I don't believe . I do believe that everything happens for a reason and I do believe that I needed that moment in my business to see what I was really made of . I got presented . First of all , if you only think you're going to make $2,000 at the beginning of a month , hindsight I could say , well , that was pretty crappy thinking . So you only have 2,000 monthly recurring revenue right now . You just get to build on that . Chrissy , that wasn't my thinking back then .

Taking Ownership & Overcoming Hardships

So , after a ton of mindset work or money mindset work in 2021 , I can tell you that wasn't my thinking , but I do know that I was presented with a challenge and I got to decide what I was going to do with it . I got presented and hardship and I got to decide what I wanted to do with it , and giving up was the easy thing to do . Hindsight . Quitting was the easy thing to do , Hindsight . Do you know how much easier I mean , it would have been so much easier to quit and go get a nine to five , and I think about that all , not all the time , but we never . I mean , we do think about that as entrepreneurs , and it's so much easier to work in nine to five . Yes , you don't have control of your time , but you do not work nearly as hard and stress nearly as much as when you own a business .

I know I'm really selling this on you , aren't I ? However , I will say this I do believe hardships happen for a reason and they happen to teach us something , and it's up to us . Are we going to take the initiative ? Are we going to take that hardship and that challenge and are we going to overcome it , or are we going to allow it to crush us ? We always have that choice to make and we are where we're at right now , in this moment , because of choices and decisions we've made , and we also get to take ownership of that too , and I hope that you can see the light at the end of the tunnel . If you're in a hardship right now , you can see what's possible if things aren't going the way that you want right now . I hope you know that I am the problem , I am the solution . It's me Hi , I'm the problem , it's me right . We get to decide what's next and we get to understand it , almost always in our control .
