I cannot believe I have actually almost been in business for eight years. So we're like at seven and a half years right now and it's crazy because I would have never said back in 2016, 2015,. That I was what I would call someone who was committed and someone who stuck it out and someone who really just didn't give up. And I honestly know that that had to come from passion and having a really strong understanding of what I wanted to do, who I wanted to serve and how I wanted to help them. And it's funny because there's like so many times I have given up on stuff in my life until this business. There have been so many times that things got hard and I gave up before this business, and it's just funny that I stick with it and have stuck with it. But I want to talk about so many other things when it comes to commitment and how that I've kept a business running for this long and a thriving business, and how I keep showing up every single day. Because when we talk about consistency, it's really hard to be consistent if you're not committed right, it's really hard to be consistent or sorry, committed if you're not confident in the things that you bring to the table. And I will say, like one of the first things that really helped my confidence and also commitment was being my word to myself. So when I said I was going to do something, I actually started doing it. My whole entire life was not like this. I want to be very, very clear. But I said I'm going to do this, I'm going to walk the walk, not just going to talk the talk, like I'm going to do the thing that I say I'm going to do. And it was crazy because, first of all, that's very uncomfortable. I don't care what it is If you say you're going to walk a mile and that's really easy for you, but you're going to take time out of your day. It's uncomfortable. It's more comfortable to sit in front of the couch and watch Netflix right, we can all absolutely agree with that. And so really, just like being my word and doing what I said I was going to do, and then challenging myself and again being committed to this challenge, whether I shared it all over social media or I didn't.
Speaker 1Do you know how many times I wanted to give up on my 200 live video? Months, like I wanted to give up. I wanted to be done with that I wanted to stop all these crazy rules that I gave myself, but I kept moving forward. I'll never forget the first mastermind that I joined. I had to commit for a year. Do you know how I was able to commit? Well, at first, for six months, I was chickened out. I chickened out for six months, I never pushed the button to submit my application and finally, I had my best month ever. This is the funniest thing. I had my best month ever. I joined the second month in. I had my worst month ever in a long time and I think that that is just like how bad do you want it? How resilient are you? How can you stick with it, chrissy, like you waited until your best month ever, and then the jokes on you because the second month in is your worst month in.
Speaker 1Like years. Can you still hold your standard? Can you still stay committed? I was committed. I was going to make it work. Whatever it took, I was going to make it work.
Speaker 1I recently signed up. I was also a part of that for four years. I only needed to be there one year and after the one year I served my sentence, my commitment, and I stayed for four years. Last year in the summer, I joined a very high ticket membership and there were months that it was hard. It was hard. I committed to a year. I said I'm going to be doing this for a year and there were months that it would have been easier to quit. There were months that it would have been easier to not do it anymore.
Speaker 1And my renewal came around and they asked if I wanted to join alumni and I was like yeah, and you commit to another year, you commit to another year. And I was like yes, because I know what commitment does for me. I know what commitment does for my business. So when I say yes, my programs have a commitment, because the commitment is hard. It's hard to say yes to something and it's hard to say dedicated to something for 12 months. But do you know how good you feel at the end of that? You know how good you feel that you were your word to yourself and others, that you signed up for something and you said this is my commitment and I am committing to doing this and I'm staying. And I know that every month is not going to be sunshine and rainbows and I know that every month is not going to be the revenue that I want and I know that every month is it going to be like. I agree with everything my mentor says and I love her to pieces. No, there are months that my mentors have triggered me. There are months that my mentors have pissed me off, but I can stand in my own personal power and understand that I don't have to agree with everything that they say, that they still call me up and call me out when I need it. That's commitment. When everything isn't always feeling the way you want it to go, but you say, that's commitment.
Speaker 1Commitment is not easy at all. Anybody who has tried to work out or tried to get healthy or tried to stop a bad habit will tell you that commitment is hard, it's not easy, but when we can consistently be committed, when we can consistently commit to something, bringing our word to ourselves and others, there's so much reward and growth at the end of that. Sometimes it is easier to quit. I get it. Sometimes it's easier to relax and have fun than go to the gym or eat healthy, because sometimes, like crumble cookie just is way better than anything I could eat that would fit in my macros or whatever you do right, whatever you count. However, I do also believe in balance, by the way. But can you get back on track the next day? Can you get back in the better mindset the next day? Commitment doesn't look like perfection. Commitment just is like this is what I'm doing. I know it's not always going to be perfect, I know everything's not always going to go my way, but I'm still committed and I'm sticking this through.
Speaker 1Seven years in business is a really long time. I can't remember the percentage of businesses that fail within the first two years is I don't know. It's like 30 or 40 percent, and then it's like 50 percent Don't make it to year, or it's over 50 percent that don't make it to year five. And again, I believe that I'm where I'm at today because of commitment, even though before this business I never stuck with anything. Even though before this business I was never successful at anything. I mean a nine to five, yes, but not like my own business.
Speaker 1I tried many things. I tried network marketing. I tried owning my own skincare company and making skincare in my basement and I did like I love to say that's my business. I learned how to do everything wrong, but there were so many times that I gave up on things and did not stick with it.
Speaker 1I'm proof that if you feel like you've never stuck with something and it's never going to happen that you can, it's just maybe not your thing, maybe you just haven't found your thing yet. But when you can dig deep into your why and I'm going to say this, my why is not always there Sometimes I have to dig deeper for it. Sometimes I forget, sometimes I get to be reminded. But as soon as I reconnect with that, my commitment is strong, my commitment is back and my commitment propels me forward in everything that I do. So I want you to think about that.
Speaker 1When's the last time you were committed to something and you didn't quit, you didn't give up? When's the last time that you were your word to yourself? You did what you said you were going to do? That's like the biggest confidence booster ever. And then add on some uncomfortable actions on top of that and say I'm going to do it and say committed to it. I'm not saying I'm committed to everything, but I am saying that I am committed to the things that I say I'm going to do. Like I could totally eat better and I could totally walk more and I could totally get more steps, but when it comes to my business, I am pretty freaking committed and that feels really, really amazing and it also shows up in everything that you do how you talk to your audience, how you present to your audience, how you show up and your standards are just there, because you are not just a talker, you're a walker and that, my friends, is really beautiful commitment.
