When was the last time that you read a book or you invested in your time into listening or watching or being a part of something that encouraged you to make some changes in your life, that encouraged you to stop playing small, that encouraged you to take some risks and play bigger? Even if they don't turn out the way that you think or the way that you desire, Are you still willing to do that? I've been reading a book this weekend called 10x is easier than 2x and although I have about 130 pages left, it's blowing my mind. One thing that I teach is that when we create content, we can type it out right. We can put a post out with just text and the person that receives the piece of content they're going to read it in the mindset and the way that they're feeling in that moment. That's why so many things getting typed out can be taken the wrong way, because it really depends on where that person is in that moment, no matter how good your intention was when you wrote that piece of content. When you create a video piece of content, you actually get to come across and your audience gets to see the passion and the confidence and the certainty that you have in yourself.
Speaker 1As I know this, I tend to listen to books and this weekend I decided I had this hard copy of this book and I decided, you know, I'm going to read the book because I actually, in this moment, don't want to be influenced by anyone else. I want to pause when I want to pause, not when the recording's on, and I want to go the speed that I want to go in and I want to take this book in and I want to stop and make notes and I want to stop and ask myself really hard questions when these things come up. And I'll be honest, for me to sit down and read a book from cover to cover, I have not done that in a really long time. There was a year in my life where I read 300 books. I was not running a successful business then let me throw that out there but I read 300 books in a year and I didn't realize how much I missed it.
Speaker 1And I think sometimes we tend to find other things that cause a lot of noise to fill our time, to fill our days, to fill our empty spots, and so this reading this book has not only been refreshing because of the noise. There's no noise because it's just me reading it. But it's also been refreshing because and I'll elaborate on this more later but it's truly shown me where I'm playing small. It's truly shown me where I get to up level. It's truly shown me a lot of things that I've done and I've learned, and it's just saying it in a different way, so it's almost like it's like driving the message home of things that I've heard before.
Speaker 1So I want you to think about where are you listening to too much noise? Where are you not taking the time to set with yourself and really process things? Where are you playing small and where can you improve? I hope today's Monday Minute really sets you up for the rest of the week and gives you so many ideas of how to take some time, get away from the noise and really set in silence.
