Are you ready to shake up your thinking and shatter the glass ceiling that's been limiting your potential? This episode isn't just about theory, it's about real-life experiences and practices. I dive deep into how our brains are naturally wired to dwell on negativity, and how this inclination deeply influences our daily lives. But it doesn't stop there, I also share the tools and strategies I've employed to rewire my own mindset, and how living in the present moment has been a game-changer.

OMNI is my full visibility system built for CEOs who want to grow online without living on their phone. If you’re ready to be truly seen, more strategic, and unmistakably in demand, head to check out OMNI at www.omniqueens.com

Many of you have heard me talk about the book by Dr Joe Dispenza that is breaking the habit of being yourself. I think it's the exact title. I could have that a little wrong, but something close to that. And it's interesting because one of the things that he says and I think when you get to week three of the meditation, you go through this whole process, and so when you start thinking thoughts that aren't kind to you, that aren't true, that are making things worse, they're putting you in lack or maybe putting you in like your ego, but anyhow, you say change. And even though I wasn't to week three yet, I read ahead, and so in week one I realized, oh, I'm going to start doing this in real life, not just during the meditation, but when I notice throughout life that I'm doing something that I'm not fond of, I'm not a fan of, I don't like it. And so I joked with my friends. I was like so if I just yell out change, just know that I'm thinking about something, that something's going through my mind that it's not the most helpful to me in this moment, and so I do not have Tourette's, but I'm just going to put it out there, right? So I'm just going to yell change. I'm laughing about Tourette's, because when I had to have my wisdom teeth taken out I still don't know if this is true, because my dentist was a funny guy, the dentist I went to at the time and when I went under he said he said you have Tourette's when you go under. And I'm like what? And he goes, all you did was sling curse words at me left and right and I was like, oh my God, I was so embarrassed and humiliated and I still to this day don't know if that's true, but anyhow, that's a whole nother story, but anyhow.

Overcoming Negativity and Personal Growth

Speaker 1

So when you are going through your day and something comes up, that is a feeling that is not kind to you, that is not helping you achieve whatever goal or situation that you're in, yell change, or if there's another word that works for you, but like, how can we do this to identify? This is not how I want to think, because if we continue to allow the thought to fester, it's almost like we give it roots, right. So think about a plant growing into the dirt. And the more we allow that thought to fester because, let's say, we're in lack, which can lead to worry, which can lead to anxiety, which can lead to comparison, which can lead to anger, which can lead to malice, like there's so many different feelings, right, that can come from one thing, and the deeper we allow it to root, and we, it becomes subconscious first of all, but we also, it also becomes very much a part of our life. It is subconscious, we don't even realize it's happening, sometimes we don't even think, and then we find a way to make the thought become almost like this, like this dopamine hit, because we make it worse and worse and worse, and we feed off of it. And so, when it comes to this, we, first of all, we have to become very self aware which is not an easy thing to do and realize, oh, I don't like the way, I don't like when I do this, and understand that our body is so conditioned to us feeling this that it's going to fight us because it's used to it, right, and the thing is, is that?

Speaker 1

The sad thing is, is that our brains are hardwired for the bad stuff? It's hardwired to protect you, so, but it's thinking of a threat, like being chased by an animal, right, Not by something you created in your own mind, but it doesn't know the difference. So it's like? Am I going to allow this to continue to happen? Or am I going to rewire and decondition my own self right, because otherwise all I ever think about is the bad things? All I ever remember are the bad things, and we don't want to go through life living that right. How can we overcome this? By living more in the present, by focusing on the good, by asking myself every single time is this a fact or feeling? And the other question I like to ask myself is is this the end of the world or is it a really big inconvenience right now, like those two, like questions, like options we can ask ourselves can make such a huge shift in ourselves and in our mind.

Speaker 1

I still highly recommend going through this book because I feel like it's a huge game changer and makes you realize so much about yourself, but also that we have so much more power than we give ourselves credit for. It's just the way I am, it's just the way my brain is, it's just the way I think. No, it doesn't have to be that way. Actually, is it harder for some people than others? Yeah, the older you are, the more conditioned you are, the more hardwired you are, of course, but I can tell you, however old I am 46, 7, I can't remember. This is funny that it's not easy. It's not easy, but here's the thing. Nothing worth having is.

Speaker 1

So are you willing to step out of your comfort zone, use the word change, ask yourself is this fact or feeling? Ask yourself is this the end of the world or is it just a really big inconvenience right now, and decide how you're going to move forward. Could it be the end of the world if you don't take action on it, or could it be way worse if we don't take action on it, we don't do something about it? Ah heck, yes, it can be. So that's your cue in that moment to decide what am I going to do? What's the next move I'm going to make?

Speaker 1

One of the reasons I took the certification I know this is longer than five minutes for a Monday is because you can have the greatest business in the world, but you're going to, at some point, either be stuck or plateau, because there is something you are not working on in your personal life. We've heard that running a business is the biggest personal development you'll ever go through, because you will face all the stuff that you've never dealt with in your life. You will be put face to face with it and you get to make a decision Am I going to keep being this way? Am I going to keep moving this way? Am I going to keep thinking this way or am I going to change it? That's why this certification was important to me, because I can't help somebody grow their business if we're stuck in other places in our life, which a lot of times feeds from our past or how we were raised or our conditioning or our personal life. Right? So you get to make that decision. Am I going to focus on where I need to change?

Speaker 1

But, as one of my coaches said, even though I need to change, even though I need to pivot, even though I need to edit, it doesn't mean I close the doors of the store. If you think about, like, here we have Kroger and our grocery store and I swear they remodel that store every like two to three years. They are not closing down. It is a big fiasco. I can't find anything, but I'm still figuring out a way to find it and I'm still spending money there. They don't close the store down to make the changes, and the same thing goes with your business. You don't get to shut the doors to your store, to your online present, just because you're growing, just because you're making some changes, just because you're improving yourself. You get to still keep showing up, let your audience see that growth.

Speaker 1

You don't have to talk about it in the moment you can, but I think it's whatever feels really good to you in that moment and this ended up being a much more robust episode than I meant for it to be on Monday, but I think it's important.

Speaker 1

If I'm feeling it, I'm going to put it out there and see who else needs to hear this, because I always believe that everything happens for a reason and pretty much every time I feel like I don't know why I said all that, somebody reaches out to me and says I really needed to hear that today. So if that was you, I hope this serves and supports you. If you need more support, you know how to reach me it's Chrissy Conner on Instagram, chrissy Conner on Facebook, and I am always here to serve and support you. But we got to get rid of that conditioning and that hard wiring in our brain and switch it to something else we get to change. So how much are you going to focus on the word change today and adding that to your vocabulary when things come up. That just doesn't set well with you.
