The Challenge of Business Growth

Let's talk about one business misconception . I have a whole list of business misconceptions , but I want to talk about one at a time because I think it's really , really important . And this business misconception is that it is easy to own a business , it's easy to grow a business . If you disagree , if you believe it's easy or you believe it's hard , drop it in the chat . I'm going somewhere with this and I really want to chat about this . I think this is really really important . So I believe that business , when we first start , is very exciting .

So nothing really seems hard , right , because we're super excited . We have all of this like momentum that we're building . We're so excited we want to shout what we're doing from the rooftops and we're so happy about it , right . So nothing really truly seems hard because of the excitement that we have that is behind that . And then eventually we realize , oh , money doesn't grow on trees , money doesn't fall from the sky . Everything I'm doing , it doesn't work , just like that all the time , right . And so we start to have harder times or our mindset is dipping . We're not like standing in our personal power , all these things are happening . And then it gets hard , right , and we're like why am I doing this , it's not getting the results that I want . Maybe it's getting some results , but not getting everything that I want . So I want to stop or not do the thing .

So it's hard for the people that keep going and don't stop doing the thing . It gets easy . It gets easier Because when you do hard things consistently , you get used to the hard things right . It's like going to the gym and maybe you finally got up to the weight that you wanted to lift , right , and it's so hard . But if you keep lifting that same weight , is it going to stay hard ? No , it's going to get easier , meaning that in order to strengthen your muscle , you're going to have to purposely make it harder again , meaning you go lift a heavier weight . This is the same thing . That's true in our business . We want things to be easy , so we get through our comfort zone , we push through our comfort zone , we push through our edges , and so eventually , even though it was hard , they do get easier . But then sometimes we me , I used to love my comfort zone and so we get very , very comfortable , and then we're like this is so comfortable , it's so easy , but is that where you're meant to play ? Is that where you're meant to stay ? I don't think so . I think you get to play and have fun by pushing your edges and consistently be growing Growing with your vulnerability and content , growing with your video , growing with your repurposing , growing with putting your offers out there , growing with increasing your prices and stretching yourself constantly and consistently . I believe that it does get to be easy , but it gets to be hard first and then it gets to be . I want to push myself .

There was a quote that Alex Ramosy put on his threads and I loved it . I shared it at my story . It says they're right you can work smart , not hard to make money , but you got to work hard to get smart . No way around it . The work needs doing .

I think that , as an entrepreneur , as a business owner , I believe wholeheartedly that you are not afraid of work , that you are not afraid of consistent actions , that you are not afraid of putting yourself out there , that you are not afraid of getting a little uncomfortable , that you are not afraid of pushing your edges . But how long are you willing to do that ? How long are you willing to push your edges and get uncomfortable and do the hard things ? This funny thing happened . I went on a year journey of doing uncomfortable actions , and I won't say that getting uncomfortable is easy , because it's not . It's not easy . However , you learn to have fun by pushing your edges . It's still hard , but it's fun . It's a fun hard . I'm pushing my edges and I'm enjoying the process , and I feel this like I should go bungee jump one time , because I keep saying this , but I feel like it's that bungee jump feeling . Or when you're going down a roller coaster , you just feel that , oh my God , I feel so good . This feels amazing , this is so cool . I love that feeling . It's this high that you get after you push yourself and you do the thing . It's so hard . Yes , I believe it gets to be easy , but I believe it's because you push yourself and you've done the hard for so long it doesn't seem hard anymore .

I have a lot of misconceptions that I want to go through over the next few days and I'm just going to give you the highlights . We're going to talk about passive revenue , which I don't believe is a real thing there . Boom , there is no such thing . I'm going to talk about that . We're going to talk about you need a coach . We're going to talk about all you have to do is rinse and repeat to create success . I actually don't agree with any of those things , and so we are going to talk about them and the alternative , just like we did today . I think it's very , very important to note these misconceptions but also understand .

Let me go back to the easy and the hard . I do believe there are some other things that we get to do mindset wise . If I keep telling myself it's hard to get on video , is it going to get easier ? No . If I keep telling myself it's hard to sell , is it going to get easier ? Nope . If I keep telling myself it's hard to launch , is it going to get easier ? No , it's not .

Misconceptions About the Difficulty of Business

I believe a lot of the feelings that we have , not only the pushing our edges and the getting uncomfortable a lot of it is what we tell ourselves . So if I consistently tell myself something is hard , is it going to get easier ? No , and that , my friends , is something we all get to work on . Quit avoiding the things , because it's hard when it's really just your perspective , and the more you do anything , it does get easier . I cannot wait to go through these other six misconceptions with you over the next week and , yeah , I'll be back to share more . But I would love your thoughts on easy business . Business is easy . I believe business is fun . I believe business has so like , I'm so grateful and I believe that when I'm in the mindset of it's fun and I'm grateful and I don't do overwhelm and I stand in my power , it kind of feels easy , but it's really not . But I enjoy it so much that it also doesn't seem hard .
