Navigating the Emotional Journey of Fertility Challenges with Shipra Sethi
After years of fertility challenges and multiple miscarriages, Shipra and her husband turned to surrogacy as a hopeful path forward. In this powerful episode, Shipra shares her deeply personal journey—navigating the emotional toll of pregnancy loss, the complexities of fertility treatments, and the critical role of community support. Through her openness on Instagram, she shattered stigma and connected with others facing similar struggles. This conversation unpacks the misconceptions surrounding surrogacy and infertility, fostering awareness, empathy, and a more supportive dialogue on family building.
More about our Guest Speaker:
I am a 39-year-old wife and proud mother to a beautiful and rambunctious 2.5-year-old boy, brought into our lives through the beautiful gift of surrogacy. My fertility journey started when I was a naïve 28 who knew nothing about fertility struggles, and certainly didn’t foresee what the next eight years of my life would entail. After years of failed pregnancies and fertility treatments, I lived in shame and silence around my fertility, until I couldn’t anymore. My husband and I want to use our experience to help educate, raise awareness and reduce the stigma around fertility and particularly surrogacy, especially in the South Asian community.
Professionally, I work in the financial services industry where I have received resounding support to use my voice to openly discuss my fertility issues to create awareness. In my personal life, I keep busy with everything that a 2.5 year-old can do, travelling, reading and staying active, all the while advocating for fertility awareness.
