Step #3 to Find and Retain Quality Staff

Anne Bachrach

Today we are talking about Step #3 to finding and retaining quality staff, which is to have a very clear and specific written job description.

It is not enough to simply say what you want done. Give the new team member a detailed job description – not so detailed that it’s novel length, but detailed enough that you both understand the deliverables and agree to them.

A clear and specific written job description provides employees with clarity on their roles and responsibilities, fostering a sense of purpose and direction. This clarity enables efficient task execution, leading to improved productivity and teamwork within the organization. Additionally, well-defined job descriptions contribute to a positive work culture by minimizing confusion, aligning expectations, and facilitating better communication between employers and employees.
