Welcome to our audio drama fiction podcast Drum Run, Season One Episode 2 entitled, "Meeting Is Such Sweet Sorrow."
We as fade in, Ford and Tye are delivered to the outbound holding facility, where they meet Farrah, Roxie, Ace, Cruz, and Jax. These seven "Third Estaters" are scheduled to be removed from The Estate the following day. Bishop the jailer makes the introductions and then we hear the details of the Drum Run via holovid from Ellis Hargrove. That night at dinner, the seven Drum Runners discuss the chances of success, which seem slim at best.
Early the next morning, amidst a polar vortex weather system, the Drum Runners are escorted outside the walls. Cold and scared, they walk along a concrete border, carefully not to step into the electrified fields. Once the electricity has been shut off, they sprint for the perimeter line where they will meet the ravagers who await them.
