Kent Brown - University of Illinois Sports Information Director 2000-2023
"Tea or Coffee" with Andrew Turner sat down with Kent Brown to talk about his story! Kent grew up just outside of Hammond, IL where he was a 2 sport athlete at Atwood Hammond High School. Kent graduated from the University of Illinois with a BS in Journalism and a MS in Athletics Administration. Kent joined the UI sports information staff in 1989 and was the UI Director of Sports Information from 2000-2023. Kent was honored with a Lifetime Achievement recognition from the College Sports Communicators in 2023. He is a member of the IBCA Hall of Fame Class of 2024. Kent now resides in Urbana with his wife Amy! Kent continues to work part time as an adjunct lecturer at the University of Illinois.
