Having made a deal with Mordecai to clear the path of their investigation, Ben and Joe set out to hold up their end so they can get back to it but seems not everyone is so keen to let them go unobserved. what did we do all right well we did some skill increases for some things that you guys succeeded on in last

okay okay yeah because I was about to say no yes I I forgot that my read lips went
up as well uh Spencer what did you get my stealth went up by like two persuade didn't go up at all psychology went up
by ten so now I'm sitting at 69. nice yeah there we go there it is and then my luck went up by four and some of them
sitting at 71 now so I'm very lucky that's very good well without further

they did attempt to bribe me in order to get a hand of Adam's medical records all you had by the family yeah we were
hired by the family too he used to be a Knight Rider do you know what that is and as you open it up the contents are
backstrom's will I want you to go pay a visit to the Grands and see if um
they're even worth our [ __ ] time you bring that proof back here
and I let the whole Backstrom estate Wheels slide

leaving Mordecai's Hideout you guys are escorted out by Mr Brown who leaves you
at the front door I will say it is probably close to nine o'clock uh I mean
I've been shot twice I almost we almost got murdered in that club do we want to
say wait till tomorrow to talk to the cousins or are we gonna press this issue
in the wee hours of the the night I think I think it's better if we wait
until the morning I'll agree I I am quite exhausted from everything that's happened so yeah we'll uh get some shut
eye okay we head back uh and I guess I I drop off Joe but before I do like while
I do that and while I go back to the apartment I would like to check to make
sure that nobody's following us that there's no car so I'm going to take a weird path and see if cars follow us as
if there is a car doing that okay um as you're driving you're taking the longer way to Joe's Apartment Complex uh
to print to his halfway house essentially and looking behind you you can see that there is a pair of
headlights you can't see the car as the headlights are obscuring the vision uh
but it does seem like you are being tailed okay Joe you see those headlights
behind us yeah they've been on us and they followed the exact route that we have for the last several blocks and I
don't you've noticed I've been making some weird turns someone is following us yeah we might have to take care of this
you realize that right it's probably Mordecai's men you don't want to piss them off anymore do we well if it even
if it's Mordecai's men he's made a deal following us is not part of that deal I
think uh I think I got an idea what's your idea I think we pull over take out
one of the ties That Be gunshots or if you could uh if one of us tells sober
and just stabs at the one of the ties and we can just like kind of leave him behind inside the road
if we're gonna do this it I have to be the one that gets out of the car and you're gonna have to let me off a little bit early and then I'll uh you'll pull
over and I'll sneak up behind yeah all right let's see if I can't help to get their attention or something I'll feign
engine failure or something see if I can't get one of them out of the car or if not both of them is there is there
like a screwdriver in the back seat yeah there's a bunch of there's a bunch of tools in the trunk at least yeah I just
don't know if screwdrivers existed in the 1920s yeah of course they did are you kidding yeah I I'm just okay so fun
fact everybody what do you think came first the screwdriver or the screw you're about to say the screw yeah the
screw came first and do you know how long it took the screwdriver to show up I am sure the 1920s had a screwdriver
yeah no screwdrivers were back in the 1400s okay good cool did you just grab a
screwdriver then I just looked it up I just want to make sure um okay so ah [ __ ] I don't like this at
all it's it's again it's not a great plan but it's it's uh better than nothing my plan okay no I'm gonna drop
you off it's gonna be visible that I dropped you off the engine's gonna go up I'll turn it off see if I can't get it
started and if they are willing to assist in the engine helping then we'll
be able to get them away from their car I'll uh do my best to sabotage just start the engine and then I'll meet you
around the block so we go and we turn around a corner after a little bit the headlights turn the corner as well I
pull over and wait for seconds what do they do what do the headlights do the headlights come to a stop maybe about 20
feet behind you let me turn the corner and the 70 stops I'm already executing the plan right so the plan is for you to
run out and stab one of the tires it's for me to run out hide and then
it'll make sense to you Tony if you weren't paying attention should I go about 100 feet forward making the like
hitting the brakes and making the car like do sort of weird jerky motions and then I pull over again okay but the
first part of that is Joe you need to get out and hide yeah building or I guess if yeah whatever
yeah if you go into the building then I guess that's okay you go into a building or do you just like hide how do you
wanna do it uh we'll say I go into a building but I again I had that screwdriver with me okay so you go into
a building Benjamin you continue driving the car starts up again and then you start to bang your engine trouble yes
and then I pull it over again turn off the engine get out open up the hood sort of look at it for a second
um and then sort of I look around is there like a performance I mean okay it doesn't look like there is so it doesn't
look like I have to roll for for faking bodies in trouble maybe this would be a fast talk oh I'm a
really maybe I'm about to just go lie to him well yeah if you're just gonna go straight and lie to him then that'd be like a persuasion thing I look around I
look I see the car pretend like I'm only just now noticing it I walk over to the car all right so you walk over the car
and sitting in the driver's seat looking at you as Mr Brown oh Mr Brown my uh my
engine's giving me a little trouble how is it yeah you should go fix that are you a
mechanic maybe you could help me I I can't look at the engine while I tried to start it you want me to hold a
flashlight for you I mean that's something uh is there somebody in the passenger seat at all or is it just him no it's just him okay he's just staring
you I'm gonna go over there I would appreciate somebody holding a flashlight is he just staring at Tony I need feet
he's just he's just he's just staring at you okay um
um Joe you're you're sneaking up on the car aren't you I'm I'm kind of waiting for our door to close from from his car
uh I'm gonna peek around the corner and uh see what's going on um so there was like enough light that
you you recognize the back of Mr Brown's head so yeah he's still staring at you Ben do you have a flashlight
uh do I do I DM it's probably in your trunk okay I have one though go get it
okay I go over and I open up the trunk I pull out a flashlight I sort of flash it
a few times back down to Mr Brown now you see uh the flash Joe I'm gonna start sneaking up behind Mr Brown's car go
ahead and do his stealth for me now that you're pretty close um
I'm going to use [Laughter] it begins
I'm gonna use 22 luck points because I rolled a flat 80 over 58.
so I'm gonna go back to 24 luck points
oh poor Joe so that's the pass right you get right up on the car does he get out
of his car at all Ben when you come back with the electric torch Mr Brown gets out of the car he takes it out of your
hand let's go look at your engine okay we go over to the engine right he's
looking at it with you um Joe he is out of the car I'm gonna stab his back tire all right that's the
the screwdriver you should probably like look in the back of it too to see I don't know okay is there any is there
anything in the car worth worth taking do a spot hidden for me oh yeah there it is I got a 15 out of
67. oh yeah um so looking around really quickly in there it's very neat it's very clean you
do see underneath the driver's seat you do see like a 32 like a 32 gun yep is
the car door unlocked it seems like it's unlocked yeah when he left he did not lock it okay I'm going to steal his gut
okay we could totally just shoot someone in the street now and leave the gun that
has the registered number to Mr hopefully on it well I just want to disarm Mr Brown and if that also
involves me getting a plus one through my guns then I'm fine with that so um do
I need to do anything to take that gun no what was it what was uh you just made like a regular stealth check yeah all
right so you're gonna have to like pop open the door in order to get it right I'm not closing the door again I'm just
lightly opening the door and then like I'm gonna leave that thing open and just let him know that you get [ __ ] all right so I'm just gonna go ahead and do
a lesson check for Mr Brown okay no no he doesn't hear it he does
not hear it you take it out oh thank thank God okay with that I'm going to uh can I use mechanical repair to somehow
mess up his mission since I'm already in the car yeah sure yeah yeah dude totally yeah puts glue in the ignition
that's a 49 over 50. all right yeah so you I'm gonna say it's gonna take you
about 10 minutes kind of fiddling around and getting it but you do you are gonna get it in the meantime Mr Brown is with
Ben looking at the looking at your car so what'd you say is wrong with it what
is it doing sputtered out it might be a spark plug or perhaps the uh the fuel
line it kind of moves the um flashlight to where like you're talking about when he's gonna use the
flashlight and it's kind of dark um I'm going to sort of move my hand down and see if I can't fiddle with
something to unattach it oh sleight of hand oh dear God I have no sleight of hand
yeah that's not gonna work at all he looks at you and he goes what are you doing I thought I'd see if you don't
know what you're doing if you don't know what you're doing don't touch anything all right all right have you ever fixed the car before no have you yes okay what
would you say was wrong with it it's gonna take me a little bit it
doesn't look like anything's wrong on the surface and he's he's pretty mad at you like he's a he was very angry with
you and he definitely want to mess you guys up but like when you start showing the car it kind of seems to relax him a
little bit maybe he does this as a hobby just kind of like unwind so why is he starting to like look at
the car and trying to like figure out the puzzle you know what's wrong with the car even though there's nothing wrong with the car
um he just kind of it's more into that at the moment and he's just kind of fiddling around with your engine just
trying to see what's going on with it um which buys Joe enough time to finish
up what he's doing and get out of there so do you think something may have come loose or ah it's hard to say
just kind of like starts muttering to himself as he's like fiddling around in there you know takes a step back and he
goes I don't see anything wrong with it maybe you're just a [ __ ] driver I've never had problems before but I've you
know it's not uh driving isn't necessarily part of the private investigating skill set so to speak
uh-huh he hands you back the flashlight and he closes your hood and he starts to walk back to his car uh I'm our show's
already making his way uh yeah yeah Joe you're already out of there you had enough time to fill you you're gone okay
I pretend I pretend to fiddle with something further in the engine
um and then after after just a few seconds of like resumed fiddling I get
it running and uh sort of like wave and then take off yeah you can hear behind you Mr Brown's car making that hard
starting noise where it's like not going and then yeah you don't see him anymore
you don't see the headlights come on for his car but it's just here that the weird uh mechanical noise so I I turn
around the corner um and sort of wait for Joe to to show up and uh only a minute or two later
Joey you show up and you hop into Ben's car that should have bought us a couple minutes I uh I get going
um and we start going real fast all right and now that we're not being followed we're like we're not there's
nobody behind us still yeah yeah there's no headlights okay at this point it's
now nine o'clock there's no banks open Joe I don't I think you should get what you want from your apartment I don't
think we'll be able to go back for a while you still have that manila envelope I do you could always drop off
the will at a post office with Adam's address on it or one of our addresses on
it yeah well people have been people been rummaging through their mail yeah that we put it to send it to one of
ourselves Nobody's ruining you through our mail they probably will now you don't think Mr Brown will put together
what happened it might just have to stay with us for now can I hide it in your office but no I'm not hiding it there
I'm gonna go by my office slash my home and we're gonna go by your apartment we're gonna grab what we need and that's
gonna be with us for a while tonight we're sleeping in a motel all right so I guess we I guess we do that until we can
satisfy Mordecai with this with whatever we discover from the cousins this is how life is and if somebody goes rummaging
through either of our Apartments then they're not going to find anything of use that's why we're going by so I we go
by Joe's Apartment um sort of stop for a second all right Joe go and get go and get what you need
but be fast uh Joe grabs a spare change of clothes and uh uh I don't know what
else you'd need like beside like maybe a toothbrush I don't know some toiletries a change of clothes and if you have like
a weapon you want to bring or maybe you have like some valuables and a safe Tony
can we say that Joe has a service rifle from the war yes we can so he's probably
gonna grab that okay all right so um you grab yourself an extra set of clothes
you grab your service rifle and maybe a few toiletries new um run back down to Ben's car yeah and
the rifle is wrapped up so it doesn't look like he's just carrying a gun but it's like obviously something long and
gun shaped okay yeah like canvas yeah no yeah piano I help him
um load it up and I notice the the long thing is this a rifle is this a gun I
don't want anybody breaking my my good rifle like I kept that thing in Tip Top since uh since leaving France uh I pick
up sort of a storage floor uh and put it in with where my shotgun is okay and
this is just to say I have a shotgun um well that's the shotgun I was borrowing your shotgun so yeah all right
um so then we go back to my apartment I grab um uh a spare change of clothes as well
um toiletries obviously and then I take some of my case File notes which is sort
of like a file cabinet just a drawer full of that and um I don't think there's anything else of like partic I
take yeah because I don't want people going through what I've done before I take um I guess I don't have any money
stashed at home everything else is in the bank but I take some of the some a few of the smaller more valuable things
and just sort of load up my car with things that I wouldn't want people to take um or that contain sensitive information
and stuff okay uh and then we drive and we find a motel all right you guys find a motel that's got the uh fluorescent
lights you know the Oz out the rains let up a little bit once you arrived here
and you get in there there's an older gentleman at the desk there's a bunch of
keys behind him he comes out and he puts on a really big uh frame glasses he's
kind of a scraggly looking dude looking up at you he has a cul-de-sac kind of looks like he's almost like a frog like
in his appearance just his little head and his big eyes popping out from like his glasses
he looks to you yeah what can I do room for two please
and he looks at you too okay how are you planning on staying one
night one night yes okay and one two rooms set friends were together one room
is enough two twins please no two babies yes if you if you have two beds I don't
know I'm I was a check and he pulls out a book and he opens it up and he's looking through it oh we got one we got
one room and it goes back um B12 it's the second floor twelfth room
this band are shaking violently as he's trying to hand you the key oh God I
grabbed the key Jesus lb true jars okay I wanna okay two
dollars what's that like 50 bucks 30 bucks thirty dollars all right that's fair enough I give him a couple bucks
but that's under the credit rating so I don't think that's an issue yeah that's not an issue yeah the fifteen dollars
you gave the doctor you'd have to take out of the of your total yeah I wish I did um there's looks like I have ten dollars
worth of daily spending so this is fine we go up to the room and I pull some of the more sensitive effects out of the
trunk and take them to the room this includes the the uh the weapons the rat and
um I I don't want that thing in the same room as this as we're sleeping it can be locked in the closet but I don't want
anyone else discovering it Jesus Christ right do we need to feed it maybe but it's been one day you give it cheese and
you give it people food whatever yeah I pull out I don't know probably at that probably pulled some crackers from my
apartment we'll say then we'll I put some food in the hole put some cracker
in the hole you hear this crunch like opened mouth chewing noise and then I
don't know a little bit of water from the tap um and then I I don't know we go to
sleep we gotta wait till morning guys lie down you try to find some sleep but
Joe you find it hard to sleep as in the closet where the radish stash is kind of
out of sight out of mind essentially you can't help but just stare at the closet
like a little kid who's afraid that the boogeyman's gonna come out and get you you can hear just this scratching noise
from inside the closet and every so often you hear just [Music]
so hard I I'm going to sleep all right yeah Joe tries to sleep I guess Joe you
don't get the best sleep but eventually you're just too exhausted to fight it yeah understandable
[Music]
you guys wake up the next morning what are you uh what are your plans reload the car we're going to it we gotta go
get breakfast so let's find a diner and let's discuss how we're gonna talk to the cousins all right uh so you guys
find a diner uh Merv's Diner and you pull up in there uh somewhat busy people
stopping by for some breakfast before they go to work uh you guys find a nice little booth you sit down in lady comes
up hey so what can I get through this too oh have uh four eggs some hash browns a couple strips of bacon and a
coffee oh and a couple pancakes I am quite hungry yeah I'm Gonna Keep It
Light and Healthy I'll uh do uh five eggs and a steak
do you want a coffee what do I look like I'm married of course I want a [ __ ] copy all right calm your jets big fella
geez okay be right back and she leaves listen we're about to go talk to the
cousins they're not going to be um forthcoming they've hired out some
mobsters and they've obviously done this in an attempt to get money from a will
Adam says that they live outside their means and the mob seems to think that they're saying that they have more money
than they actually can possibly spend all we're doing is looking for a way to get them to admit that they don't have
money or we're looking for a ledger or some other way to prove that they don't
it sounds like they followed more money than than they have and they were really
relying on the windfall of old uh Uncle Blair passing away right and if they
don't have that then they're [ __ ] so we have to figure out maybe we can squeeze him for something lie to them a
bank account would also show that they don't have money yeah we just do the all those bank statement uh I don't know I
don't I don't store my money in the banks too too much how's your acting I mean I ain't no Shakespeare let me do a
quick uh test on you show you how good I am oh what so my my persuade is 10. um I
rolled a one were you trying to persuade someone no I started to do acting I was trying
to do acting skills on on uh on Ben um so there is an actual skill I think called act I rolled I no matter what I
rolled a one okay but we were just trying to it doesn't work like that I
just wanted to fail but then I got I got a natural one so I don't well you just you just wasted it congratulations
uh okay yeah I know I suck at acting and I've wasted a natural one how do we all feel about that
I'm not I'm not I'm not marking that as a success because it was purely just so that I could be like oh yeah I suck at
acting but now it's oh Alas poor York I knew him well yeah you Joe feel like you
just gave the best performance of your life in a diner and it's not gonna get you nothing
yeah that was good well no I don't think I could do that no I don't think I could
do that again come on oh well I think the plan is to pretend as if we're from
an accounting office or a law firm there to discuss the prospective will statements I mean I can intimidate them
I could come off as a big strong guy but if we're going to be doing flip walking I I won't be able to keep Pace uh so if
we're if we're doing this you're going to be doing most of the talk fair enough all right here's the plan I will pretend
to be someone from the law firm and we will have to figure out which law firm they're using Adam probably knows about
that since he's been receiving mail plan is to go in pretend that we're that we're gonna need some accounting
information to know where to put the money when it Cycles through this sounds very illegal very all of this is illegal
if we can get it if we can get a bank account number then we can see that they have nothing in their accounts you're
very right I don't know why I care we did Kill three guys they tried to kill us first more copy please ma'am
uh yeah she's ah you youth fellas talking about a play I heard I heard
your cold read or whatever you call it oh yes it started out as a play talking
a little bit about the war now yeah we do it Othello we're writing something it should be good am I am I persuading on
that Tony okay well I'm gonna say that I'll give I'll give Joe the one that she just
doesn't ask any questions okay what skill would that be on
no I'm just giving don't Mark anything okay just so you didn't waste that one okay so we we eat our food we get our
coffee next stop Adam's house we need to find out what law firm they're working with so we head back to Adam's house is
it is it raining still today um no it's bright sunny day actually oh lovely I don't have to add a whole bunch of rain
sound effects oh no it's poured thunderstorm tornadoes Godzilla's in the background holy [ __ ]
um yeah no so yeah bright sunny day you guys make it back to uh Adam's home and
going up to the door uh Miss Victoza answers the door
foreign I guess good morning Miss Victoza how
are you today I'm doing good uh any good any news oh lots of news actually as a
matter of fact may I come in yes yes of course um Adam's sleeping right now uh but I
can try to answer any questions or you know whatever you need uh please please uh come in
this is my um associate Joseph oh uh good to meet you my name um Helen
Victoza she shakes her hand Joe pleasure to meet you ma'am right uh we'll uh come in I'll make some coffee uh no thank you
we've uh just come from a diner as a matter of fact okay so you guys follow her into the into the study room we had
a few things to discuss first we did stop by the estate Adam's cousins are working with the mob to keep people out
of it this has caused some issues but needless to say we did find what we were looking for and I pull out the
willpapers this will details a number of things um most particularly that it does indeed
affirm that Adam is the sole Heir the date stamp on it is significantly more recent than we would have assumed Tony
is there anything else of like main note like is there a weird artifact or any other notes that we had gleaned from the
will not from the will it says that everything is going to Adam
um and names him the beneficiary of everything that Blair has owned and also
um uh he's allowed to dictate where Blair's artifacts and everything that
he's found goes um but from what you know going back to the letter to Adam that they've received
Blair had altered the will before going on the expedition to South America
there's that little bit of news don't know if it's a good idea that you hang on to it for now if your house is indeed
being watched you wouldn't want such sensitive information to be with you uh
yeah yes of course my goodness um I can't believe you found the will but what about what about Blair we still
haven't been able to confirm his whereabouts but we're hot on that case as well um we have a number of leads to continue
to follow up but the next stop on our investigation is with Adam's cousins ah
right I see as part of this investigation we came here for one piece of critical information what what is the
law firm for which they've been working with or serving you letters for do you
know yes I do we get letters from them all the time it's uh Messina and Oates wonderful do you know if it's coming
from a specific lawyer um they Outsource to they're stationed
primarily in Boston so so there's no particular name on each envelope it can
change it can change in various they're quite a large law firm in Boston all right yes I think it's mostly the
paralegals that are handling everything at this moment we've never really met with their um their proper lawyer all
right understood then we will be hanging on to the will as people have been quite violent going after it uh this would be
for your safe keeping until we can get it to a bank vault or a lawyer that you
trust it's just just do your best to find Blair that's all that Adam really wants is just to
know where his uncle is this is a very messy case his disappearance in the will may be linked we're following up as best
we can we just stopped by to give you an update on our way over to the cousins well uh thank you for the update I'll
I'll be sure to let Adam know when he wakes up so you guys get up and she
shows you guys out and closes the door behind you uh we go back to the car and we head over to the um the Grands over
on we need to go in your note yes we need to go to uh Delta 2 3 North Peabody
Avenue so what do we see when we pull up to
their the Grands when you pull up to the grounds the house is this Fresh coat
paint of white there are these two statues of lions oh God that are in front of like this very small staircase
going up to the front door the door is this elaborate carving of wooden trees
it looks like that's made out of some kind of Oak there's this nice stained glass uh depiction of like an angel on
front of the door and everything looks like it's been spit polished and just is pristine a bit gaudy isn't it yeah this
is I fully agree with Blair on this one this is absolutely over the top kinds of fancy that isn't particularly deserved
well these are the people we need to speak to do you remember the plan I stand there and look intimidating
basically I'm gonna I'm gonna pretend to be a lawyer from uh Messina and Oates
I'm going to be a subcontractor with them and uh be here to gather uh
particular information to make sure that the will is handled properly and expeditiously when the legal proceedings

uh black suit um Pencil Thin Mustache very uh closely
cut hair uh kind of combed over to the side you can see he has a cane that he's
leaning on on his left side he looks at you he is um hi what can I do for you hello my
name is uh Mr uh Mr Wheatley this is my associate Mr Jenkins we are here to
discuss the will I am looking for a Liza and Thomas Grant if I reach the appropriate resident yeah yes you have
um I him Thomas Grant my wife Liza is currently in the sitting room
um are you perhaps from the The Firm yes we are from Messina and Oates we're here
to ask a few questions and get some things sort of lined up for the law firm to make sure that the will is handled

off of like the disc um there's lots of very fancy paintings all over the place uh there's like a
crystal chandelier hanging in the dining room the a rug it's like a per it's a
Persian rug it's fancy but um excessively so hey Spencer can you do me a favor really quick maybe uh could you

the sitting area and you can see he has unabashedly a liquor cabinet just out in
the open with two couches sitting opposite each other with a small rectangular coffee table seated in the
middle that has a glass covering and you see Liza sitting on the other end has a
pearl necklace a white dress on her hair is done in the uh fashionable way a
bright red lipstick and she looks up um Thomas who are these people oh these
are two fine gentlemen from the Messina and Oates Law Firm yes hello oh my name
is Wheatley berdane uh with the law firm this is this is my associate Jenkins we are happy to meet you oh bless who's all
ours uh please sit please sit Thomas how about you get the fine gentlemen something to drink they did come up all
the way from Boston after all yes yes of course dear and you like pulls out a cigarette and he lights and he walks
over to the liquor cabinet so um we we are still having some trouble
acquiring Blair's will um it has taken some quite some time but
we are hoping we will find where that old Cadre is stated isn't that right
Thomas yes it is do you do boys like ice with your Brandy Yes actually as a
matter of fact I do thank you I'll take mine neat I like you neat I'll take two
two he comes over with two glasses of Brandy one neat one with two ice cubes
he gives you the appropriate ones and then he stands behind the couch behind liesland uh Just Smokes a cigarette so
uh what do you boys need exactly uh what are you looking for well we're looking for a bit of information in order to
handle these proceedings expeditiously uh the first thing is do you find folks
have a lawyer in the local area that has been assisting you with perhaps more
minor matters we could connect with them and make sure that we get every everything sorted out appropriately
um no we haven't everything we've done has been through you you we've been told that your firm's the best perfect it is
absolutely true just making sure that there isn't another this set of legal proceedings we should connect with law

so so the the next question is there a routing number that we could utilize an
account number this will help us transfer funds as soon as they're appropriated from the will
um I think we have something lying around I can get you a a
bank statement if if that will suit you yes that would be helpful thank you and so he it was all let me go try and find
you one and he walks off adding numbers were reduced but in 1910 by American Bakers Association to avoid confusion
caching checks yeah it's almost like I did some research I I don't know if you

um yeah so Thomas goes off to try to find something uh goes to try to find you some like big stipends Liza
continues to sit there and just smiles and she reaches forward and takes uh a drink of uh whatever she was it looks
like maybe champagne or something so yes I'd like to uh just confirm uh to make sure that we have all of the appropriate
information as well your last name is Grand as you've married into a different family correct yes I used to be a
backstromers shameful as that is I I luckily married into a good respected family and Blair
is your uncle on your maternal side yes she's kind of like flashes her eyes and
bats her eyes a little bit at you the light from like the bright shiny days coming in like in like these little God
Rays into the room looks like they're sitting room overlooks the park that's just outside of their home the
information that I have on file is that your uncle disappeared uh looks two
weeks ago is that correct yes it is yes unfortunately Blair who can say what
happened he probably contracted one of those horrible foreign diseases went insane I I mean I swear I I do believe
the man drowned himself that's probably why we haven't found a body it's probably somewhere at the bottom of the
mesotonic poor thing very poor situation terrible just making sure that we had
everything here confirmed appropriately make sure that I am indeed speaking to the right people of course as well we
wouldn't want this information to get out to the wrong people of course of course of course when we have your
routing number and account number confirmed we will of course be looking into that if you have anything that
could potentially prevent us from opening up at that account for wiring we
suggest that you open it up or give your bank a call to let them know that myself and Jenkins here will be stopping by to
acquire a further investigation of your banking account of course I can I can

um down the hallway wherever Thomas is he's kind of out of sight but you can hear ruffling of papers sounds like
quite a bit and there's another thing you pick up you pick up this very tiny scratching noise outside the window I
can I look outside the window uh yeah you want to get up and look at it or do you just like look I'm gonna stand up
like I'm stretching my legs and I'm gonna look outside the window to see you the [ __ ] if it wasn't clear we did take
the mouse and everything with us when we left the motel it's it's it it's in the
trunk there's no way we brought a toolbox to the front door so you walk up and you get to the window and there's a
nice hedge and bushes and trimmed Garden outside of the window everything manicured to Perfection you see
something in those bushes scurrying around is there can I use a trek skill
or natural world skill or do you want me to use spot hidden to try to see this thing uh I'd be spot him to try it
because it's obscured right it'll be a spot hidden 84 over 67 that is a fail wherever it is
you lost it in the underbrush damn now I'm just thinking if like if there's a way I can like justify going outside and

track this thing down because I know I heard something and it kind of saw something in the bushes but I don't know what I saw okay uh moving around to the
side of the house where you saw the thing go ahead and make a tracking roll okay

yeah that's an extreme I believe so you see where it started from somewhere down
along the sidewalk there is like a storm drain you can see out of the storm drain
there's still because it's such a bright sunny day it cleared out a lot of the rain from um yesterday and you can see just this
wet Trail leading up and often going into the bushes and as you look at the
footprints that this thing left behind um has something like a mix between
little hands and rat feet gross okay you follow it into the bushes and you're
looking in the bushes for this thing and you see you can hear some scratching
again you look over you can see something climbing up and out of the bushes uh what Ben oh Ben okay we're
back at Ben Ben uh Thomas Thomas starts to come back in the room hi uh I found
um some uh papers that have the routing number on it I hope that these will
suffice and he walks over and he gives it to you is there also an account number on it um
yeah looks like it has all of his bank information on it all of it oh okay let's go commit some credit card fraud
no credit cards yet but fraud can still be accomplished does it also have any of his personal information Beyond his name
does it have like a birthday or anything yeah it has his birthday it has um his security number
um like it has it has everything that you would need to pretty much get into his banking perfect awesome okay so I'm
looking at the bank statement and that's uh yes this out of curiosity does it look like he's broke make a psychology
check psychology I got a five so you can definitely tell when you asked for information on his
bank and his uh finances he went maybe a shade paler and he was very nervous and
he seems to kind of trying to be misdirecting you somehow I I would like to analyze this paper uh like what's the
date on it maybe or is there any fraudulent reworkings on this well as you are looking at the paper and you're
trying to analyze it make a make a pow check how check to beat up this paper
let's make a pound check power pow is power right yep uh 14 whatever that is
is Extreme you start hearing something it's okay sourceless and it almost seems
to be like drifting through the air and it's a slow drumming chanting noise Joe
yes you see whatever this thing is hop up on the legend you can see through the
window you can see Thomas handing uh Ben some papers and whatever this thing is
it is not taking its eyes off of Thomas fun it's just staring at him and I also
want you to make a pal check please oh my power is quite High okay I got a two out of 80. yeah no two do it
Joe you also just to start you just start hearing this weird drumming
chanting noise and it's in a it's in the language you don't recognize and it it
just seems to take over all of your thoughts you're still in control of like you know
what you do and say but whatever this is It's just in your head okay so I hear a
drumming noise am I still able to look at this paper and see if there's anything odd about it yeah if you want to I mean like if you want to ignore it
um this would be an accounting check or a forgery check just to see if it's been
forged or messed with in any way which I don't think you have any skills in I can't use Library use on it huh no
Library use is not applicable here I still feel like they might be hiding something Thomas I'd like to make sure
we have everything that is appropriate I I get the sense that there is something more I need to see oh
um I could try to find um something else um uh if you're worried about something
we see all kinds of financial situations every day remember that the two people you always want to be honest yeah and
you just kind of collapse this to the ground what's lie is it doing Liza stands up and looks down at Thomas and
you can hear Thomas beginning just a scream bloody murder and he's grabbing
his legs and just yelling screaming flailing on the ground you can hear that
drumming chanting noise in your head has gotten louder and louder to the point where it's almost drowning out all the
other sounds uh could I I'd like to find I'd like I'd like to do a spot hidden just check for the source of this okay
go and do spot hidden okay that's what I'm gonna do and I'm gonna spot this thing and whatever it is I'm gonna shoot
it all right spot hit into 60 I got a 57 so 57 over 60. all right you look over and
you see you you see another rat-like creature with a human face looking at
Thomas and just moving its mouth I'm going to can I see that Thomas is having
a seizure essentially yeah so going back over to Joe you see through the window Ben is clearly saying something Thomas
and Thomas is not in agreement but he just kind of starts rubbing his legs and
he looks like he's in pain and then you just see him collapse okay and the same thing is happening where the drumming
chanting noise is getting louder and louder in your head and I can see this rat was staring at Thomas and something
weird going on my head with the drumming correct correct I'm pulling out my gun
and I'm shooting that [ __ ] rat so almost at the exact same time both Ben and Joe you guys both pull out your guns
and aim it at the rat so back in the house you hear coming from Thomas this
snapping cracking noise which sounds like the breaking of tree branches
scream Liza's looking over him trying to do whatever she can but it's just it's
nothing she can do you pull out your guy Joe you pull out your gun both of you roll handguns okay
um 27 that's a hard success I'm gonna use some luck points um so my handgun is 30 and I'm going to
use 17 more luck points to make that a success because I rolled a 47. so almost
in the exact same time you both fire the bullets meet both on the rat and that
thing explodes in a like just pops
Thomas is still on the ground screaming his head off I put my gun away he see
Thomas just looking down at his legs [Laughter]
jackets get in here I'm gonna go inside and I'm gonna do First Aid on Thomas you
go to do for Sam Thomas you run back in Thomas is freaking out and looking he's
grabbing at his pant legs you uh see Ben standing over Thomas staring at him you
run up and you get down over to Thomas what do you do I'm doing first aid and I rolled a 29 but I'm basically checking
out his legs and seeing if there's like any noticeable wounds or if his legs just snapped in half what are the
chances of him dying in the next like 20 minutes you go to the legs you roll up one of the pant legs and you see the
skin in his leg looks like it's been deflated and you reach to feel the leg for any bones or muscles it's all gone
all of the bone muscle sinew tendons everything is gone it's just an empty
sack of skin uh I'm going to vomit the finger
so his legs all deflated his legs I'd say up to the knee are all deflated it's
just skin and he's looking down at his legs and he's
what I'm just like feeling down there and he's he's just freaking out you don't want to
do that just take a deep breath Wheatley bring me some booze I don't know but the Brandy there's just a whole cabinet full
of booze take your pick if I grow and I grab some hard [ __ ] I guess bring it back yeah drink this drink this he just
grabs and he's just very shakily it's like it's mostly getting on him than in him and he's just drinking it see him
like reach down and he like touches his knee and he feels his knee and like where everything used to be and he just kind of grips it tightly don't touch
don't touch it all right we're gonna get you some help I'm gonna go to the phone and call the hospital as Thomas is
freaking out I'm gonna try to kind of stabilize him there's not much I can do for missing bones I'm gonna check on his
wife I just look just look at me man look at me don't touch down there just look at me start telling me these things
you got to start talking like tell me whatever don't focus on she's just uh
Thomas and Thomas is just kind of like he's just kind of on the floor crying at this
point can we go to the phone call at the hospital hello Arkham General uh yes I can you please connect me to Dr turnbaum
immediately this is very urgent one moment please I have to wait like another five minutes meanwhile Joe yes
you see Thomas his little Nubs kicking kind of like waving around just a loose flap of skin like a streamer his legs
just kind of kick back and forth and you hear one leg hits the ground as he's doing that and just kind of going with
the the so as one leg hits the ground Joe you hear this pop and suddenly that
leg the one that hit the ground just inflates and you see Thomas just go flushed pale and he's passed out okay so
his leg inflates are their bones back in there no it seems like listening to it it sounds like it's been filled with
some kind of liquid I would hope it's blood God I hope it's blood so what's this like filling with what do
I need to roll figure that out you can just do a first aid okay that is a 51 out of
64. so another success yeah examining it carefully yeah it's filled up with his
blood so he's not getting enough blood to his brain so he's passed out because all the blood's in his leg flaps now
gross will he die because of this yeah yeah you know no medical way of fixing
this okay I get up and I go over to to Ben and I say we we have to leave at
that time you get turn bomb on the phone hello this is turn bomb turn bomb it's
um it's Ben don't say anything we have to leave we can't be here what's uh what
can I do for you turn bomb you um have been involved in a lot of things recently with interesting cases yeah
somewhat recently uh what are you getting at there's something else that has happened that is beyond the
explained and you're the closest thing to a leading doctor on it I need you to get to the points please we have to go
there's no saving him turn ball I alone am currently at that the residents of
Liza and Thomas Grand something odd has happened that Thomas has seemingly lost
all of the internals of his leg in his sudden fashion you should probably come
and check it out I don't think there's any saving the man but somebody needs to investigate this have you been drinking
because that's not medically possible come see alright okay I'll make a I'll
make a house call you hear him hang up Ben Ben Joe Eliza saw us she knows that
people were here somebody has to investigate this so that there is a further explanation if Liza wakes up
sees her husband Dead who are the first people they're gonna question I know we were using fake names we're using fake
names if we call the police they're gonna find out we're live and then the police show up we get arrested there's
still a dead guy that we can't change that back he's passing away as we talk right now there's nothing I can do I
understand that Joe I won't involve you any further if you want to back out of this but Joe this is this is not the
first time I've dealt with Oddities of this nature that's that's that's I
Joe we stick around we're gonna get arrested we're gonna end up in jail there's nothing we can do to explain
this no I want both of you to make a listen check uh whatever it is I don't hear it 25 over 57. you hear Eliza
starting to come too and you can hear her very weakly saying Thomas
I can't allow whatever this is that's afflicting the city to continue this goes far beyond Backstrom I'll try
to continue the investigation on my end but I know we can't do that from jail the next thing you guys hear is this
ripping tearing noise this liquidy spilling out noise and the blood
curdling scream coming from Liza okay I turn around the corner uh looks like his
leg popped and all the blood Spilled Out Joe listen independent squares across
the street go there wait for 20 minutes I'm gonna speak to turnbaum when he gets here somebody has to cover whatever's
happening and I think turn bombs the man to do it he's already treating one mysterious illness I think he can keep
another Under Wraps less investigation will happen if a doctor declares it to be of natural causes or something the
point is this needs to be covered up [Music]
