Late Night Internet Marketing with Mark Mason -- Affiliate Marketing Tips, Online Business Advice, Email Marketing and SEO
I’m on the road in Asia, so this episode has a special and unique quality all its own. Special thanks to the Concierge at the Sheraton in Hsinchu, Taiwan for bringing the show. I honestly have no idea what she said, but hopefully it’s close to correct.
In this episode, I give a shout-out to all the awesome listeners who have left a review in iTunes, my friend Shaun from TexasMountainBikeTrails.com, and a lonely listener in the country of Iceland that downloaded only one episode.
We cover many topics, including whether or not you really need an NDA when you outsource work for your internet business. Also, we take a look at a new site plan from a listener who is planing on moving to Costa Rica to teach English. Finally, we get up to speed on the latest Google announcement regarding Disavowing Links.
In This Show…
We talk about all kinds of stuff as usual.
Fun Times In Asia
I've having a great time in Asia. I this episode I talk about a great Dim Sum place that I like called Yum Cha
in Singapore's China Town. We had my favorite Dim Sum there called Xiao Long Bao. This dish is a small dumpling with soup inside. The name means Small Dragon or something like that. If you eat it before the soup cools off, you probably will think that you have a dragon in your mouth.

Do I Need An NDA When I Outsource?
If you need legal advice about NDA's, you should consult a lawyer. I am not a lawyer.
When I was cruising around the forums on Internet Business Mastery Academy site
, I noticed (and answered) a question about how to outsource while still protecting your ideas. My answer is a little unconventional, so I decided to mention it in the podcast. Basically, I argue that execution is WAY more valuable than the idea itself, so you don't need to worry too much about idea theft in most cases. I also offer a couple of things you can do to minimize your risk when outsourcing.
Listener Feedback: Teaching In Costa Rica
I talk a lot about a listener that is planning to move to Costa Rica to teach English.
Listener John is traveling to Costa Rica to get himself certified to be an English teacher to non-native speakers. He wants to have a great travel site thats personal, fun, and very insightful, with tons of info that he picks up along his travels. He asked about monetization and plugins.
Here are the plugins that I recommended to start:
for both stie stats (free) and Akismet for spam
* Yoast WordPress SEO
for social (free)
* w3Total Cache
for performance (free)

Google's Latest Update: Disavow Links
Finally, I talk about Google's latest “Disavow Links” tool. I conclude that you only need to worry about this if you have been notified that you have “unnatural links” in webmaster tools, and if you are unable to get them taken down. More on this topic next week.
For now, you can read Google's announcement
on the official Webmaster Tools Blog.
