The Future of Women in Agriculture is Bright with FFA Leading the Way in Developing the Next Generation
In this episode of Ag Talk, Venessa Wood speaks two dynamic, young women thriving in FFA. Both Alyssa Sullenberger from Alaska and Miru from Massachusetts chat more about their respective journeys in agriculture and FFA. Alyssa discusses the challenges of agriculture in Alaska, focusing on her innovative use of hydroponics to grow food year-round. She details her inspiration, technical setup, and future aspirations in equine therapy while maintaining her hydroponic endeavors. Miru shares her story of joining Norfolk County Agricultural High School, her involvement in FFA, and her community service project 'Stitch Towards the Future,' which combines her passion for fiber arts and service. She also discusses her future plans in mechanical and fire protection engineering at WPI, emphasizing the interconnectedness of engineering and agriculture.
