Oliver Connor:

Welcome back to another episode of Kataba Chronicles. This is Oliver Connor. It's been a while so I wanted to get with everybody. We're actually going to do another season of Kataba Chronicles and I'm very excited about this season. We're going to step it up a notch. We're going to discuss all things Kataba County, of course and might even bring some surrounding areas into the mix. If you haven't gone back and listened to the past episodes, please go through and do that. It will give you a great setup into this new season. We're going to bring some important people on in the county, or at least I think they're important. I've got a good friend helping me. Some of you might remember her from a past episode we did with the friends of the library. Emily Huling is going to be really the powerhouse behind this season.

Oliver Connor:

I have found that it's gotten very difficult with life lately, both professionally and personally. As you all know, I do run the insurance agency here at Connor Insurance in Sherrills Ford. It's full-time job right, it's what pays the bills but this is a passion project to mine. I really do feel very strongly about the county and the people in it Growing up here. There's a lot of important pieces and important players that have shaped who I am today. It's one of the reasons I came back to this wonderful county. Everyone that's moving here is now part of that. Being able to chronicle and record the great folks that make this county what it is is something that I really enjoy.

Oliver Connor:

I've got a few people that I think you guys are going to like to listen to. We're going to try to space this out a little more than we did last season. Last season we front-loaded the whole thing. We were done in a few months. That left this huge gap for our listeners. For that I apologize. There's a learning curve to this podcast stuff, go figure. This year I've got help. I've got Emily. She's going to try to keep me on the rails and make sure that we get things out at a good cadence for everyone. We're going to try to get at least one a month, I think, not including this one. We'll have another one for January and try to get it out as quickly as possible. At least we're going to record in January. Who knows, it might be February before it comes out.

Oliver Connor:

I'm very excited about this. I'm hoping that maybe I can find some help editing these, because that seems to be a hang-up that I have. I love talking to people, I love getting to know people. I love hearing their stories. One of the things that I have a hard time with is when it gets down into the weeds. I have a hard time editing and chopping up the sound bites, getting them presentable, trying to cut out all the bad content. If there's such thing as great content, I hope that that's what we're giving you. We'll try to be better at it this year. Who knows? If it goes well, maybe there's a season three, but that might be a little ambitious. I do very much look forward to season two and I hope you do as well.

Oliver Connor:

My heart to yours. Thank you for caring about this county and the great people that make it what it is. Thank you for being a part of it, if you are, and the supporters that listen to what we have to say and support us just by lending an ear. That's the most important thing. Without you all, there's nothing. This goes out into the ether and to nowhere, but there are a few people that still support us monetarily. So if you are interested in helping out in a bigger way, heck, if you know how to edit, please let me know. We can use all the help we can get. Right now, most of this is being funded out of my pocket and with a few great patrons that support our channel. You know I couldn't do it without any of you, so thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Oliver Connor:

If you are interested, like I said, check out our website, katabacroniclescom. We have Facebook. We're on social media platforms LinkedIn. You can get a hold of me, you can send us an email. You can get a hold of Emily. If you've got a story to share or you know of someone that does, please let us know. We'll reach out to them for you, and we're really looking forward to recording more content, getting it out there and having it for everyone to listen to. So until next time, thank you.
