WORD
Now may the God of peace— who brought up from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great Shepherd of the sheep, and ratified an eternal covenant with his blood— may he equip you with all you need for doing his will. May he produce in you, through the power of Jesus Christ, every good thing that is pleasing to him. All glory to him forever and ever! Amen. Hebrews 13:20–21
THOUGHT
Do not worry about tomorrow. This command was spoken by Jesus to his followers (Matt. 6:34). He had complete confidence in his Father to fully provide for those on his mission. Nothing needed to accomplish the Lord’s will is withheld from us. However, worry still continues to assault those who pledge their trust in the Lord, causing us to challenge or doubt the will of God. To some, worry is a momentary problem that is quickly dismissed when God’s faithfulness is remembered. To others, however, worry is seemingly an endless battle. God’s will is that we do not worry. When we do, we lose time and energy concerned with things he fully has under his control. God has promised to care for his own. As believers in Christ, we bear the weight of seeking his will and living it, and if we seek first the kingdom of God, provision for our journey on earth will manifest.
PRAYER
Thank you for your provision, Lord. Show me your way, your will, and your paths. May my eyes be fixed on the mission at hand and my heart on your kingdom to come. Help me be a good steward of all the gifts you have already provided to me. Amen.
Give us today the food we need.
